I just bought a house and will be setting up a home theater in the basement. I already have the surround set up of Play Bar, two play 1’s and subwoofer from my condo and love it . I have always been a cable subscriber but was looking into getting Directv. Any issues with Directv /Sono’s combination as far as Dolby Digital and achieving 5.1 surround sound? I have had no issues with Spectrum Cable but there are some really great deals going on with Directv right now.

None. I've been a DirecTV customer longer than the 10 years or so I've had my Sonos. Two 5.1 setups, both using PLAYBARs and PLAY:1s, with SUBs. All I had to do (I think) is make sure that the DirecTV Genie device was set to Dolby Digital, and feeding that to my Vizio TVs, which the PLAYBARs are connected to.
