I have a Samsung Serif tv, the Sonos Beam started dropping out and the first sign of a problem was tv volume control did not work with Netflix. Now the Beam does not work with the tv at all, all volume is coming out of the TV audio. The Beam does work if streaming music, but not with the TV. I have it connected with a HDMI cable. Any suggestions?

Any body seen this for work around to get Sonos arc to work fully ?

i have a new sonus beam connected via hdmi-arc to a lgcs tv. the two sonus one's i added and now a sub are registered as in the same (living)  room. but only the beam is outputting sound. the beam is listed as WM:1 and the others as WM: 2. what's wrong? thanks.

I Hope it’s okay.I’d love to get some help in positioning the Sonos Arc and Gen-3 Sub in my living room.Background info:I’m excited cause yesterday I purchased a 65 inch LG CX TV, along with the Sonos Arc and the Gen3 Sub (and an Xbox Series X but that’s prolly irrelevant). The whole thing should arrive by next week. Until then, I’m contemplating on the set up.Current set up:Video: LG Plasma, 60 inch (Will be replaced with the LG CX, which is 10cm taller and 15cm wider). Audio: Got an Onkyo Amp and 2 B&W Speakers which will be out of the way once the Arc arrives. Gaming: Xbox One, will be replaced with Xbox Series X. Hi,I recently bought a Sonos Beam and two Sonos One SLs to use as rear speakers. Set up was easy and I like the sound. However, I quickly realized that my TV (Philips, not sure of the model) doesn’t support Dolby digital. I can only choose between multichannel, Dolby Digital Plus, stereo (uncompressed) and multichannel (bypass). I tried updating the TV software but it didn’t resolve this. My knowledge about codecs and audio components is basically zero, but I understand that Dolby digital is needed in order to get the best out of the Beam. Therefore I wonder if there is a way around this, and if not, what the best setting is with my current components. How much of a difference does DTS make?The TV is fairly new and I’m not considering buying a new one anytime soon. As I understand it, Arc will support DD+ but this would mean quite an expensive upgrade and I’m not sure it’s justified, maybe someone can comment on that as well. Thanks!

Hi, I have a Beam connected to my tv, a Sonos amp, 2 passive Speakers and a turntable connected to the amp. I want to use this setup as a 4.0 surround sound system for my tv and I want to use all speakers to play music from my turntable. I can configure the system to play 4.0 surround sound but than the line in disappears in the app. And I can unpair the surround speakers, create a separated room for the amp with the passive speakers and group it with the beam to play the turntables on all speakers. So I’m basically able to do all what I want to do but not without reconfiguring the hole system every time. Please help ;)

Can anyone recommend me an HDMI switch to connect Sonos Arc to my LG C9 TV?  I’ve searched other topics on the lip sync issue on LG TVs and seems like this is the most popular answer.  Is this method also able to fix the lip syncing coming from the native apps in the tv itself? I bought one brand off Amazon, but it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Streaming from the Apple TV does fix the lip sync but the Apple TV seems to have lower video and audio quality, and older apps, than the LG so I’d prefer not to use it.  The lip sync issue is bad and very noticeable to me. I would like to be able to get the Arc to work without needing to return it. 

Hi I've got a Beam connected via Optical. It's being controlled by my TV remote.  TV is SAMSUNG model PS43D490A1WXXU Every time I change the volume of the Beam using the Samsung remote the TV has a "Not Available" message. This is because the TV speakers are turned off.  I've looked at the following link but it only provides instructions for Samsung One Remote, not a standard Samsung TV remote.https://support.sonos.com/s/article/2072?language=en_US Would really like to turn off the "Not Available" message every time I change the volume. Thanks. 

I’m not really looking for troubleshooting help, but just feedback on whether playing Blurays through my XBox-X with DTS is really worth pursuing.  My issue is well documented.. the volume is too low during dialogue.. and too loud during action. Setup:Xbox X - Disc - Dynamic Range Setting appears to make no difference. In Audio Im sending bitstream to my TV as Dolby Digital. TV - Samsung something, TV detects its sending Dolby Digital to HDMI output.  (There are no normalisation/dynamic audio settings available here). Sending out through hdmi port(not eARC). Sonos Beam - iOS App shows its receiving Dolby Digital 5.1 I think one of the main problems is perhaps the Xbox Blurayer player is not really adjusting the volume levels of the audio enough?  (I don't think the TV or the Beam adjusts anything)Will adding two rear speakers help in anyway?  Or will the dialog from the center channel still feel really faint?

I currently have two in-ceiling speakers installed in my basement to the rear of my couch, which I intend to use for a home theatre. I was considering the Sonos Arc given its support for Dolby Atmos at a reasonable price. However, I was wondering if using the in-ceiling speakers in tandem with the Arc for surrounds would have an enhancing effect, negligible difference or an adverse impact. My worry is that the in-ceiling speakers may interfere with the up-firing speakers on the Arc… is this something that Trueplay will calibrate for? I am aware that the Dolby setup guide recommends surrounds on the same level as the side channels, but just checking if anyone has had direct experience with it. Additionally, my in-ceiling speakers are slightly offset and the TV does not sit perfectly between them on the left/right plane. Would that suggest that their use as surrounds may be sub-optimal?

I have the Samsun KS8000 connected via arc to my new Sonos ARC soundbar. I get Dolby Digital to my Arc, but no Dolby Digital Plus signal. The specs for the TV states it supports DD+, but I cannot select it from the sound menu’s on the TV… Any ideas? Regards, D.

Firmware 12.2 has been out and we’ve got official support for PCM playback capability. I wanted some idea on which one is better  AppleTV playing Dolby Atmos/TrueHD- AppleTV converts it to PCM (as Apple doesn’t support TrueHD/Atmos)- LG B9 with eARC pass through- Sonos app shows Multichannel PCM 7.1  vs Nvidia Shield playing Dolby Atmos/TrueHD- Nvidia Shield sends signal as Atmos/TrueHD- LG B9 with eARC pass through- Sonos app shows Dolby Atmos (TrueHD ) I personally found TrueHD to richer and seemed to have a wider surround sound.    

I have a beam, sub and 2 ones setup in a surround sound setup for my TV. It works great for movies and for playing music directly through sonos. The issue I am having is that I watch a lot of music videos on my TV. When listing to music I use the 'full' rather than using the surrounds for ambiant effects. I would love to be able to get something for similar when playing music through my TV.

I am trying to avoid a sound bar with my new TV set up. I purchased the Amp and connected it to my TV. I am unable to use passive front speakers without having wires show. I was hoping to instead use Sonos Ones on either side and connect wirelessly. I can get the speakers to play TV sound on the network and it sounds fine but the Ones must be controlled through my phone app and won’t respond to my tv remote which is paired with the Amp. My question is, is there a way to wirelessly connect Sonos One speakers to the Amp as front speakers so that my tv remote can control the front Sonos One speakers?

I have two issues.  One, my Sonos drops out like other users.  Secondly, when using the play bar with our TV it doesn't take long for the lip sync on the TV is totally out of sync.  I have called Sonos a couple time and they say its our DISH receiver.  When I unplug the play bar and TV the proper syncing is restored.  Since I never have gotten an answer from Sonos for either problem I'll be returning my entire Sonos system to Costco.  Seems Sonos can't handle some of the basic issues users are having and find it too frustrating to continue. 

Can anyone confirm whether the Panasonic DP-UB9000 has an option to output audio as PCM therefore allowing DTS discs to play as PCM7.1 or 5.1 on ARC?Thanks

Does the newest Arc work with the newest Fios remote?   

so i was wondering if anyone knows why the sonos app wont show if im playing dolby atmos or any other audio channel. its just blank above the moon shape. any fixes.  im connected to my Samsung QN75Q8FNB through ARC hdmi port.

With multichannel PCM now possible what 4k UHD players have functionality to output DTS soundtrack disc as PCM 7.1?I will start with Oppo203 that is working perfectly through my C9 then onto ARC.Any other players doing the same?

Hey guys, I recently bought an Arc and wanted to upgrade my TV to support Atmos. I was looking at the TCL 8 series and noticed that with the latest firmware update it has eARC enabled.My understanding was that only if the TV had HDMI 2.1 it would have eARC . Since it isn't HDMI 2.1  but the firmware update enables eARC , how would it work exactly? Would the TCL 8 series after the update be able to play Atmos? Thanks in advance!

Hello Sonos community :) I have an issue where i am unable to get surround sound working on my home theatre setup.Whenever i play netflix on my projector connected to my Sonos surround sound, it does not play any audio, I need to go into the audio settings of netflix and change it to stereo and then it works. (in stereo only)The sonos app says the speakers are setup for surround sound.This is very frustrating and would love to get surround sound working correctlyMy setup is a chromecast & projector connected to an Avencore HDMI 4x2 True Matrix Switch & Splitter via HDMI, Optical cable from Avencore matrix to a sonos playbar. 1 playbar, 2 * play 1 & 1 sub all connected wireless.Im happy to purchased some new kit to get this working.thanks

Hi Everyone,I’ve just hooked up my Samsung Q95T to my Sonos Soundbar and there seems to be a slight delay on the sound. This wasn’t an issue with my previous Samsung TV. Hoping there is a setting that I’ve missed but can’t seem to find it.Thanks!

I have a playbase, two Play:1s and a sub set up in a 5.1 configuration.  My 4K apple TV is connected to my TV by HDMI and the TV feeds the playbase through an optical connection.  When I listen to music I use Plex and can access it in a couple of different ways (Apple TV, Sonos app, Plex app).  Each app gives me different features with the Apple TV the best.  But I get different audio as well.  If I listen with the Sonos App or the Plex android app I seem to get balanced audio from each of the playbase & the Play:1s.  But if I use the Apple TV I get almost nothing from the Play:1s.  I realize in a basic 5.1 set up there isn’t much sent to the rear channels so I’m wondering what I would have to change. Thoughts?  Suggestions?BTW, I’m happy to detail the features lost within the Plex app and the Sonos app but that’s a whole other set of threads.Thanks.

Hi,Is Sonos current limit to a 5.1 (or 5.1.2) system due to software/firmware or due to hardware? If it’s firmware, hopefully that means a future remote update will open up the ability to pair more channels with our Arc (like 9.1 or 9.1.2)! Can you tell me what is currently bottle necking the home theater expansion?If a Sonos employee -- Please pass on this request! Thank you for the info!

I have beam surround set up. And i recently buy arc and set up surround setting. I usually set volume at 30 when i was using beam. But now i need to set volume 50 to hear same sound. Anyone have same problem???
