Hey all. I have a 2020 Vizio V-Series (V585-H11) that has eARC, a Sonos ARC, and a 16” 2020 model year Macbook Pro. My question is: has anyone been able to output Dolby Atmos (and Vision) content from a MBP to their tv using a usb-c to HDMI adapter? And if so, which exact adapter did you use?

I currently have a Sonos Soundbar with sub and Connect Amp powering two built-in speakers for surround sound.  I would like to upgrade to the Sonos Arc, but have read in some forums that Connect Amp cannot run surround sound with the Sonos Arc, and I must also upgrade to the newer Sonos Amp. Is that correct or will my older Connect Amp power my surround speakers?  Thank you!

I have connected beam to HDMI arc on tv and have sky box  switched to dolby the lip sync s not right. I have tried solving this for hours but can't. What is the best set up to get dolby without the lip sync issue?

I’m just putting together a new home cinema set up - LG 65 OLED, Arc and my two old Sonos Ones as rear speakers (may add the sub later).The placement of the TV above the (inactive) fireplace means it’s quite difficult to get the Arc the recommended 4” below the bottom of the tv. The Arc is also placed just above head height as the is mounted atop the fireplace at about 120cm.Two questions really.. Is it really an issue if the gap between the Arc and TV is less than 4” and does it matter that the Arc is higher than sat down head height. Can i get away with both of these or is it going to cause an issue?

Hi,I’m renovating my den and I’m putting in the Sonos Arc, amp, and 2 in ceiling speakers. I’d like to have the Sonos sub as well but I can’t leave it out and visible so I need to hide it somehow. I have a section of the wall in the corner of the room on same side as TV that is deep enough that I think I can create a wall cavity, put the amp in there, and then put a speaker grille in front. Do you think that will sound good? decent way to “hide” the sub?Thanks!

I got a samsung QE65Q67RATXXC that has no earc but normal arc.But it has dolby digital and plus and support atmos.So netflix works fine but I dont get atmos from Disney+ I tried it on the tv app, xbox one app and on pc and no atmos.Was it a bad move to buy the arc ? I thought i were fine since i read on trustedreviews that i was good to go when tv supported atmos.What can I do to get dolby atmos on disney+??Plz help 😘

I have a beosound stage soundbar and want to hook it up to the Port but it only has a 3.5 mm input. Is this possible?

Hi, I have quite a considerable Sonos system and have just added an Arc to a TV in a new room. I am loving the Arc but want to use two in-ceiling mounted speakers as the rear speakers. These are currently connected to a 1st gen Amp so I cannot access these as rear speakers as the old Amp only appears in the S1 app and not the S2, where the Arc currently sits alone.So, I want to upgrade the old Amp to the latest model so I can add this to S2 and then hopefully connect these as the rear speaker pair.Before I spend the money, just making sure that this setup will work. Both the Arc and the Amp are connected over Wifi although both could be connected to my LAN over Etherent if need be as they are both in proximity of a switch.Thanks in advance for any help.Regards,

Has anybody set up a Sonos Arc with a projector and who can help guide me please?Do I need a specific projector to be able to fulfil the Dolby Atmos capability?Providing I have a projector with x2 HDMI ports; I think I am correct to believe that I need the projector to have eArc capability from one of the HDMI ports. In the absence of an eArc HDMI port; then I believe that an additional product such as the forthcoming HDFury Arcana may be required. https://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/hdfury-arcanais the Arc suitable for occasional outdoor use or in an area with high ceilings such as a barn or will the sound and the premium Atmos capability simply be ‘lost’ upwards?Any insight / thoughts would be really helpful please. Apple TV (4K) is outputting sound to (non-existent) rear surround channels when playing 7.1 LPCM audio on Sonos Arc.The Arc should drop the extra 2 channels, or mix them into 5.1 output.I’ve tested with movies on the Apple TV app and channel check files in Infuse on my LG B9 (eARC). This is persistent with all Multichannel PCM settings combinations.

Hello. I bought my second Sub today, because i was sure that i had read that i could use two in one room. Now I found out that i have to use two room an group them thogheter. Anyone know if sonos are planning to add this feature? I have a setup with arc + two play 1 and one sub from before. 

Hey y’all,Sorry if this is redundant with another topic, but trying to make sure. I’m looking at potentially getting a TCL 5 series TV. According to RTings, it looks like it would pass Atmos over TrueHD in passthrough, but I’ve seen some conflicting information (perhaps due to previous year models). Is there anyone who can confirm or knows for sure? If not, I would consider jumping up to the 6 series.Thanks so much for anyone who knows!

I’ve got a 2019 Samsung Frame TV, and am considering a Sonos Beam to pair with it. I’d like to keep wiring to a minimum. My TV has support for Wifi speakers, and the Sonia Beam has Wifi as well. I’m unclear on whether or not I can connect my TV to the Beam solely over Wifi? Or does it *require* either an HDMI or optical connection?I know the Frame can connect to Samsung speakers over Wifi but not sure if that’s proprietary because it’s all Samsung. 

I have quite an open room with 20ft ceilings.  I was debating getting the Arc, but am a little concerned I won't get near the maximum use out of it.  If I put the bar beneath the TV or on the media cabinet there are shelves on the left and right blocking left/right facing speakers.  And the ceiling is so tall that I think the upward facing speakers wouldn't be useful.  Is it a terrible idea to consider putting the speaker above the TV with a slight angle down?  Or maybe the Arc just isn't the right idea for my room? Thanks!

Hi there. I bought the Beam with the intention of then getting sub and two surrounds for a 5.1 system. The problem I am having with the Beam is muffled speech, bad enough that I cannot understand even with high volume.  I have Samsung Q70 TV and it's passing through Dolby 5.1 (Dolby 2.0 on channels that are not outputting 5.1) from Sky Q box. I also have Android box and Apple TV. Speech is the same on all. Ido not get any problems using TV speakers, or a cheap Samsung sound bar.  I have tried just about all settings and tuned with Trueplay, but speech still completely muffled and cannot understand anything without turning the volume rediculously high and even then, other sounds drown speech out. Reading internet forums, this seems very common. Some have said adding sub and surrounds really helps. My question is, does anyone have experience of the muffled speech problem and does the sub and surrounds really make a big difference? This week I'll either be adding Sonos sub and surrounds,

I have read the previous posts about using 2 Sonos Moves as rear speakers. Frankly that because they are portable, Sonos does not allow this, is ridiculous. Similarly to the inability to have a stereo pair in bluetooth which is also ridiculous.Sonos, as a cutting edge tech company with great products, your software is letting you down. Get these matters sorted. Much much cheaper UE speakers can do this. Why can’t you?? 

Previously had a Samsung tv (using Roku streaming with Roku remote)    - was able to pair Sonos soundbar with Samsung remote, and then after that,  the Roku remote took over and sound volume worked with the roku remote for the Playbar.     Bought new Series 6 TCL that comes with Roku built in, and Roku remote.     My playbar is still reading the old Samsung remote (white light lights up on sonos soundbar when I push the samsung remove volume buttons) .    I have gone into the Sonos>system> (Living Room Playbar+sub+Ls+Rs) > Remote Control Setup > Replace current remote> then pressed volume button on roku remote…..  no luck, does not pick it up.        Any help or advice appreciated.    thank you,  easycraig

I’ve set my play bar sub an two play1s up in my living room as a surround sound theatre set up. My wife was listening to music streaming in living room when all speakers stopped playing. I’ve discovered that my playbar has no power. I’ve checked lead power supply etc. And it seems my playbar 1st generation has given up on me. I’ve had this set up for 4+ years an I’m absolutely gutted. Is there anywhere I can take it to get repaired or claim from my home insurance or will I just have to replace? Has anyone else had such issues? 

Hi everyone I’ve been having problems getting my Sonos Beam to play anything other than stereo 2.0 via my Panasonic TV. I’ve been on many forums and have accepted that the issue is due to the age of my tv (>5 y). I’m in the market for a new tv and have been looking at the Samsung UE55TU7100. Anyone know of this supports the Beam or will I have further issues.  many thanks in advance. 

We recently purchased Beam to be used with a Sony Bravia KD49XH8505 (2020) which we purchased around 8 weeks. The Beam is connect via ARC.We have 3 main sound issues as follows:Sometimes, when we turn the TV on to watch Sky via HDM1, we get no sound via the Sonos Beam. If we go into the sound settings and change the output from Auto1 to Auto2, the sound starts working again. Within a day or so the same issue normally re-occurs, so we go back into the sound settings and change the output from Auto 2 back to Auto 1 and the sound starts working again. Randomly, when we press the Netflix button on the remote, Netflix starts, but there is no sound. If we clear the Netflix app cache it starts working again, sometimes we have to remove power to the TV and restart it to solve the issue. Occasionally, when we turn the TV on the sound is garbled through, if we restart the TV this seems to resolve it.Has anyone else experienced the same or similar issues with Sony TV’s? Is it likely to be an issu

Hi all any ideas when i turn the tv off with the remote or when i ask alexa to do so, pithing seconds the beam continues to play the tv audio any ideas why this is?

I have Epson 2150 projector. Thinking of getting a Sonos Arc. My Epson has the following 3 output ports: 1) Audio Out port  2) HDMI 2 port3) HDMI 1 / MHL port.Will any of these output ports connect to Sonos Arc?thanks! 

If you don't have an echo or Alexa device how do you control the beam volume? 

I wish to pair two separate shaw xr11 remotes to my soundbar. my wife and i each have a remote = marital harmony. i can pair either one but not both at the same time.
