Hi just got my first Sonos product, a Beam. I’ve got google assistant speakers (Google Home and minis) set up a group to play music all together. I’ve tried to set up my Sonos Beam into this group to play music etc… all together so Google home Max, Nest minis and Sonos Beam together but cannot seem to include my new Beam. Can I please get some advice, this was one of the key reasons for me purchasing the Beam so that I could add it to my existing Google Home group of Speakers. I’m really quite disappointed now. Thanks
Hi, I’ve set up a Sonos One in a similar location, where I previously used to have a Google mini (nest). The google mini used to work well. I could play music, get weather/jokes, ask questions. It would recognise my voice etc. The Sonos One is terrible! It recognises when any of us say ‘ok google’ but in the ‘my activity’ on google assistant it just has ‘unknown voice command’. It will respond (on occasion) to basic voice commands like what is the time, or it will play a playlist from Spotify, but most times it beeps when I say hey Google, and the light blinks a few times - then it goes back to playing music or ignoring me. When I check activity it says unknown voice command. how on earth do I fix this?
Hi i’ve just connected my Move to google assistant. When i ask google to play something it accepts the command and repeats it back (like ‘ok playing XXXX from spotify’) but then it says something like ‘can’t play because sonos and assistant are not linked to same spotify account’). So then i have reset all my spotify accounts so that sonos and google assistant link to the same spotify account, but it still gives same error message. I fully de-authorised them and re-authorised spotify, removed and re-added google assistant, and tried again - but still same error message. Any ideas?
Hi everyone. I have been struggling with my Sonos One (Gen2) which was delivered yesterday. I have got set up GA somewhat satisfactorily now so it will play Spotify and do some other stuff, but it doesn’t seem to understand simple things like “skip”, “next”, “pause”, “stop”. It will play tracks and change volume, but not most of the basic listed here with Spotify: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3490?language=en_US Any idea what the issue could be? Thanks!
I'm pretty sure I have the Beam connected to the HDMI ARC port and I am still unable to turn the TV on or off using voice commands.
Cannot get Sonos move to connect to Google assistant
Bonjour,Depuis hier, plus de flash de France Info en demande à Google Assitant les news / les infos. Idem dans ma routine: pas de lecture de contenuCette source d’actualités a toujours bien fonctionnéQuelqu”un à ce problème?
I have Google Assistant Set up on 3 speakers. 2 of the 3 play a ding after I say “Ok, Google”. The other doesn’t. Surely there is somewhere I can control this. But where? I’ve looked all over the google home and google assistant and Sonos App.
I have had the Sonos Beam for around a year now and been using it via ARC to an old Samsung TV. In addition to this I have 3 Sonos One around the house, and a Sub used together with the BeamThe Beam works perfectly via ARC for TV sound, but I have an issue with the Google Assistant. I am able to turn OFF the TV via google voice commands, but when trying to turn it ON nothing happens (the Beam light blinks for a while and then stops).Strange thing is that if I issue the turn ON command to any of the Sonos One speakers around the house, it works and the TV turns ON!Just got a new LG TV (65NANO956) and was hoping the issue would disappear, but same thing happens. Sonos One speakers can turn on the TV, but the beam does nothing (all other commands like “turn off”, works).System is setup via SonosNet, and the Beam is the access point.Any suggestions to what might be happening here, as the TV evidently does support turning on through the Google Sonos integration as seen with the One speakers
I have 3 Sonos speakers (one beam, two Ones) with Google Assistant enabled in all of them. Each of them has a name (Living, Dining, Kitchen) and I have made sure that under the Google Assistant settings, ‘Default music speaker’ each one of them has been chosen, respectively. When I say “OK, Google, Broadcast <message>” I get the response “looks like there aren’t any other speakers connected on your home network so I can’t broadcast your message.” When I try the same from the Google Assistant app or the Google Home app on my iPhone, it just searches the web for that phrase. When I try the same from the Google app (so, not the Assistant, not the Home, just a third app, the Google app) it works! I have removed the voice service from all of them, delete the Google Home app and re-installed, re-set the home, but still the same. Any advice?
When ever I ask to play music on the Arc via Google Assistant I get the response "I cannot do that here, but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices."Out of several Sonos speakers that are GA enabled this is the only giving me this issue.I have removed and added GA many times. I have done a complete reset on the Arc at least 3 times. The amount of issues with GA and Sonos speakers ever since going to S2 is getting beyond ridiculous now. I'm just frustrated with dealing with these issues. When I get one fixed, soon there is another bug. Any ideas what to try next?
A few weeks ago, Google made YouTube Playlists work on Google Assistant devices. While it's great that I can now request and listen to YTM playlists on my Nest Hub and minis, it broke being able to play playlists from YouTube music on all of my Sonos devices. Sonos One:"Play Lady Gaga" -> "Playing Lady Gaga on YouTube Music" (= no problem)"Play Current Favorites" -> "I also need to know which device to use""Play Current Favorites on the Bathroom Speaker" -> "Sorry, I can only play videos on devices using Chromecast or on cast enabled devices" Nest Hub"Play Lady Gaga" -> "Playing Lady Gaga on YouTube Music" (= no problem)"Play Current Favorites" -> "ok, your youtube music playlist called Current Favorites. Here you go" (= no problem) Nest Hub with Sonos Play:1 as default speaker"Play Lady Gaga" -> "Sure, Lady Gaga from YouTube Music. Playing on Bedroom Sonos" (= no problem)"Play Current Favorites" -> "I can't do that here but you can ask me to do that on one of your
Hi all, struggling with a new Move speaker using google assistant. We’ve got a Sonos one which works perfectly, and a new move that I’m struggling with the voice control. I’ve got to really shout at it to make it do anything other than tell me the time, I’ve got a clock for that! Have I missed a setting for the microphone sensitivity? Tried both on Alexa, but can’t get either speaker to respond to voice commands to play music. It says it’s playing, but doesn’t. This seems to be more an amazon issue looking at various forums. Any advice appreciated.
I have had 2 Play:1 speakers for a while and have been controlling them with an Echo Dot. I added a Sonos One and decided to move to all Google Home devices after reading Sonos finally integrated with Google. I added the Google Assistant as a Voice Service in the Sonos app. The Sonos One now answers to ‘hey Google’ and all 3 of my Sonos speakers showed up in the Google Home app. I can get music to play from Amazon on any of my Sonos devices using the Sonos One or any Google Home device. However I cannot get music to play from Spotify (the default). It says ‘sure’ and ‘here you go’ but nothing happens. I called Sonos and was told there was currently a known issue but not seeing anything on https://status.sonos.com/ Anyone have any suggestions?
I have a Sonos beam and use Google home, since we got the beam about 13 months ago I have used Broadcast on the beam to send and receive broadcasts. Until this week I swapped my router and broadcasts stop sending, I get the ‘No other speakers connected on your network’ message.I can receive broadcasts still and play music on every other speaker even when requested via the beam. Contacted Sonos who eventually said the feature is not available on the beam, despite a yard of it working! Tried my broadband provider and Google who both said it’s a Sonos issue...obviously!!! Still Sonos deny it’s their issue.…Time to look for another speaker system I think
When I ask GA to increase volume indeed increases it. But only by 1%, which is not perceivable at all. So if I wanted to go from 20% to 30% I would need to ask it 10 times! This should be much more rapid, like 0% (muted), 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% or even 0, 5%, 10%, 20% etc. Similarly If I ask GA to “Set volume to 5”, it sets it to 5%, not 50%. Is it a recent bug, something that will get fixed soon or Sonos feature?
I have programmed the ‘Goodnight Google’ command to turn my bedroom lights off, and to run some ambient background music until I fall asleep. That all sounds lovely, doesn’t it?I thought so, too. However since I bought my Sonos One to replace my Google Home, when the ambient music (chirping crickets in a field, for anyone interested) finishes an hour or two later, usually in the middle of REM sleep, the Google Assistant suddenly screams “I’m sorry, I don’t understand!”, waking me up in the middle of the night, only for me to go through the entire process again if I make the mistake of using the ‘Goodnight Google’ command. It might make sense if I had asked Google to do something, but I’m usually unconscious, and my cats don’t speak English (that I know of. I have seen Dolittle - terrible movie, don’t bother - but it’s a work of fiction after all. Isn’t it? Cat’s cant really talk to Google, can they?). While you’re pondering that, I happen to find it very annoying, so if you or anyone y
Is there any possibility to conect sonos and voice assistant in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thank you in advance
Hi everyone,I have recently upgraded to Arc from Beam. I am having an hard time (also, with my wife...) as the new model does not recognize my wife voice with google assistant. What makes me nut is the following:if we switch to Alexa, no issue (but my kid can not say “Alexa” and on Sonos is not possible to change the wake up phrase...) google assistant wakes up when my wife speaks, but then it does not go further on the google mini/home we have in other rooms there are no issues (and there were not also with the Beam) I have deselect “personal results” in google assistant, even if it should not be relevantFinally, I have in any case seen a degradation in the microphones sensitivity. A few specific titles are not recognized properly (when I speak) but were by the Beam and are by the other google device I have The system language is ItalianPS: I am “curious” to see if Arc will recognize other people beside me, but we are in lockdown now and I can not invite guests to try, for now... guys
I have a Sonos Beam connected to my Sony TV and usually control the volume by asking Google. It it still working but rather than asking Google to increase the volume to say 4 or 5 I now have to ask for volume to increase to 60 or more. I don’t think I’ve changed anything but maybe I’ve done something weird? I also sometimes change volume through my iPhone (mentioning this in case it’s relevant). Can anyone shed some light on this please? Many thanks
I’ve been using Google Assistant on my Sonos One pair ever since it became available, and I’ve been hoping that sooner or later some of the problems and issues will be resolved, but I’ve just about given up. I haven’t seen Sonos fix a single problem since the initial release. Did their one contract guy working on Google Assistant quit? It’s just getting very frustrating to see the same annoying problems over and over again. My Sonos One frequently freezes for 30 seconds or more when I ask GA to do something, and half the time it fails with “there was an error/glitch”. I can see in the Google log that it got the right command, it just didn’t do it! I can then walk over to my Google Home Mini and give it the same command, and it always executes immediately with no error. Lately it’s gotten worse, with Routines almost never completing successfully when I attempt to run them from Sonos GA, leaving the Sonos speaker stuck frozen and unresponsive for a minute or more! Is this ever going to g
When I ask Google Home ‘Ok, Google Play Music’ it plays music I like (probably my supermix)When I ask Sonos Arc ‘Ok, Google Play Music’ it plays music I have never heard. Also I can't like/dislike currently playing song using voice ‘Ok, Google Like/Dislike/Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down’I’m using YouTube Music service
Moved into a new house and had enough of the budget left to buy myself a Sonos arc. Fantastic. Wanted one since they were announced. Coupled with the fact Spotify were giving out free Google home minis and myself and my partner managed to get a hold of two of them on the back of two accounts, we had the makings of a pretty cool home set-up. Using the Google home mini is a dream. Commands are understood and carried out (albiet with a little too much vocular waffle for my taste but whatever) and the range of functionality is impressive. Throw the arc into the mix and oh my lord. What a worthless peice of shite the assistant becomes. I have more luck getting my 1 year old son to follow my requests. Considering the price of Sonos products (and don't get me wrong in terms of sound quality it's worth every penny). The lack of support for Google assistant is shocking especially as you can pay extra for the Sonos one specifically for voice commands. Not having any Google products you could be
Suddenly, Hey Google no longer respond to the command “increase volume”/ “decrease volume”. It responds to all other commands but for the last 1-2 weeks it has not responded to the volume control.
I cannot get google assistant to play a second song as it thinks that the speaker is unavailable.
