Grouping of Sonos Rooms via Voice Control - Solution
Hi all There have been a lot of requests for the ability to group Sonos devices via voice command to Google Assistant. Whilst this isn't supported yet by Sonos, there is a way of doing this if you have a Logitech Harmony Hub type remote. Here are the steps I've tested: 1/ Open the Harmony Hub App>Harmony Setup; 2/ Add your Sonos players as devices; 2/ Next create an Activity - As an example, lets call this 'Group Sonos'; 3/ Click on Sonos Speakers and then using the link select the specific Sonos devices that you want to group. You can also set the default volume at this stage; 4/ Please link your GA and your Harmony Remote accounts under Add Device>Works with Google>Harmony. If already linked then please Remove the link in the Google Home App and relink. During this process you have the ability to define 'Friendly Names' - there doesn't seem to be a way of doing this any other way. I created 'Group Sonos' and 'Sonos Everywhere' as friendly names; 5/ Save the Act
Can't use Google Assistant to control Spotify on Beam
When I ask Google to play a song on Spotify through my Beam, it will say: "OK, here's [song]. Sorry, it looks like you haven't set up Spotify on your Sonos app. To play from Spotify, link the same account on both Sonos and Google Assistant." I have linked and unlinked the same account on both the Sonos app and the Google Assistant app a number of times, and still can't get it to work. Is there something I'm missing?
Play one - "sorry there was an error for xxxx"
Hi, I have set up a play one in my bedroom. I have a 5.1 sonos system in the living room (play1s/playbar/sub). I can play music through the Sonos app on my android phone but the Play One will not open apps via voice command. I ask it to play/pause a Spotify playlist "I get sorry there was and error for the Bedroom " I am using Google Voice assistant. Thank you in advance!
Google Assistant can't find Beam
I've been trying to get Google voice services set up on my Beam (living room) and One (bedroom). For whatever reason, the Google Assistant app can find my One in the bedroom, but it can't find my Beam in the living room. When switching back to Alexa, it finds both speakers in both rooms just fine. I read somewhere that having a Google Home in the same room as one of these Sonos speakers might affect this. I did indeed have a Google Home in the same "room" as the Beam, but I have since changed that. Any idea what's going on? I tried on both my 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks and still no luck.
Volume control of a group with Google Assistant only controls 1 speaker in the group
Hello, I have 4 Sonos One speakers setup in a group and I am using Google Assistant and Pandora to play music. I say "Hey, Google, Turn up the volume" and the speaker that seems to be closest to me increases but none of the other speakers in the group increases. I would like to have the entire group of speakers volume increase with GA voice control not just one speaker. I can't seem to find a way to make this work and change the volume all speaker in a group with a single command . I constantly need to go to my Sonos App and use the volume sliders to re-sync the volume levels so they are all the same again. The other option would be to go to all 4 rooms separately and have GA increase the volume separately. Thanks!
Configuring Sonos & Google Assistant & Google Home
I have downloaded 10.2 and configured my Sonos system for Google Assistant. I have 4 Sonos Amps and 5 Sonos Beams+Ones+SUBs. I have 9 Home Hubs and 6 Minis. Some early observations for which I would appreciate feedback/confirmation from Sonos Support: * Only rooms that have a Sonos Beam or Ones can be directly paired with Google Assistant. My Sonos Amps do not appear to be controlled by GA (e.g. using a Home Hub or Mini as a "microphone" for a Sonos Amp). * Related, none of my Sonos speakers appear as targets within Google Home to which you could map "default speaker". For example, map a Home Hub to a Sonos room as the default speaker. * I have configured Google Music (for which I have a premium subscription) as the default service. But every time I ask Google to "Play [artist or song]", the Sonos responds saying "I can't do that here but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices." * In Google Home, there is a Sonos TV Control for each Sonos room including
The state and the transparency of Sonos regarding Google Assistant is just embarrassing by now.
Moderator Note: Google Assistant is now available on Sonos. See here for more information. It is just embarrassing that a company of the size of Sonos is incapable of delivering a damn voice assistant integration. Something dozens of other manufacturers, way smaller than Sonos, already managed OVER A YEAR AGO. Sonos charges more for their product, yet is not capable to actually giving us a reliable timeline. They are not giving us updates since November (and that demo in January) and literally treat their customers the worst. By the time they roll out Google Assistant I hope most people have moved on from this incapable brand. At least their share price reflects their commitment.
Can't set up assistant in UK
Hi, since yesterday Google Assistant is finally available in the UK. I have some speakers in the UK and others at my place in Spain. I only use one Sonos account registered in the UK. My Google account is also registered in the UK. However, when I try to use GA as a voice service, it tells me "not available in your country". I am currently in Spain, but that shouldn't make any difference as all my system is registered in the UK. Tried using a VPN but that doesn't work either. Alexa works fine with all speakers. Any help would be appreciated.
Google Assistant cannot control media on chrome cast without specifying the device
When I say pause or rewind, the command does not work unless I say "rewind chrome cast 5 seconds". If I just say rewind or pause, the response I get is that it does not know how to do that yet. Any way to make Google Assistant perform the commands directly to the chromecast without having to specify?
Google assistant won't work on my Sonos One speaker
I have the Sonos One speaker that supposedly has Google Assistant built in. It is recognized by the system and plays music without a problem. I have gone through the whole install routine for getting Google Assistant to install and the app and it says it is installed. But nothing happens after Hey Google -- no response whatever. One issue I noticed in installation -- the instructions say that the devices appear and you choose if you want Google Assistant on each particular device. I never get that opportunity. At the end of installing Google Assistant after Voice control, I just get a message that says GA is now operating. I've tried removing the sonos and google assistant apps from my iPhone and reinstalling. I say something like "hey Google, play the beatles in the kitchen" (the name I have to the One). Nothing happens. Any suggestions?
google assistant change source to tv after listening to music
Can’t figure out the correct google assistant command to tell the beam to switch audio to tv output instead of Spotify after listening to music. Any one figure it out? When i used Alexa, it was “switch beam to tv”’or something similar. If it matters, I’m also using a Logitech harmony to control the tv through assistant integration.

Sonos not playing broadcasts
I've tried on my Beam, a Sonos One Gen 2 in my kitchen and my Sonos One Gen 2's as surrounds in my living room. None of them will play a broadcast message no matter where it originates from. I've checked for updates, everything is up to date. All of them will send a message but non of them will play any. Otherwise, the GA seems to be working fine. This is quite inconvenient though. Hope there is an update to fix this soon.
Google Assistant has problem playing TuneIn station
Google Assistant on Sonos is giving me a problem trying to play my favorite local news station News 1130 from TuneIn as I commonly do on Alexa and Google Home, for example on Google Home: "Hey Google, play News 1130 radio" = "All right, playing News 1130 on TuneIn", station plays. But with Google Assistant on Sonos One: "Hey Google, play News 1130 radio" = "All right, playing CKWX on TuneIn" = "Sorry, it looks like that content isn't available on TuneIn" (CKWX is an alternative name for News 1130). Saying "play CKWX" instead produces the same response. Google Home recognizes "play CKWX" as an alternative to "play News 1130", and the station plays correctly either way. Selecting and playing the TuneIn station News 1130 from the Sonos app to the Sonos One works fine. Playing other TuneIn stations on the Sonos One by saying "Hey Google, play (station name)" seems to work fine in a few other tests. So for some reason the request to play this particular TuneIn station is bein
