Google Assistant and Sonos

Hi, I can’t see how to install apps e.g. DR Radio in the Google Assistant (GA) running on my Sonos Move speeker. Google assistant with DR Radio works fine on my phone, but not on Sonos Move. Any ideas would be much appreciated...

I just set up Move with google assistant. GA recognizes the device and I can say “turn volume up/down” etc and it works. However when I say “pause music (on move)” GA says nothing is playing although it actually is. Also, cannot start any playback from Sonos (eg. TuneIn radio station or my playlists). GA says it needs more info. So GA seems to recognize the device but not Sonos.I have removed and re-installed GA and Move (factory reset). I have tried re-linking my Sonos account to GA. No change. Any suggestions please?

I have finally, after a year of searching and trial and error found the city of gold. Issue #1 No HDMI ARCSolution #1 Digital Optical AdapterIssue #2 old Sharp TVs don't process digital to digital through HDMI ports. Only TV input playing through Sonos. Solution #2 Therefore had to run Digital Optical into XBOX One rather than TVIssue #3 Now only Xbox One is playing Sonos sound. Hello,I have just purchased a Sonos One Gen2, I am very satisfied with the sound quality.I am however disappointed with the voice recognition capability with google assistant. The speaker picks up the "OK Google" relatively well, but then it hardly ever understands what happens next other than if I'm close to the speaker or if the sound is very low.Can you tell me why the speaker is picking up OK Google but not more? Is there a way to check if there is a configuration problem?

I have a Sonos Move and I am using Google Assistant. Now that there is Voice Match, how do I get my Sonos to hear my voice to use my Spotify Account and get another voice for another Spotify Account? The way we log onto the Sonos is through one account right now but seem to only be able to use one Spotify account for both people.

I have connect my Play:1 with Google assistant and am frequently using my Google Nest Hub to start songs, control playback and volume. But one thing never works, asking it to play another song."Play SONG 1 on Sonos" Works like a charm, but if am currently playing as song and say something like:"Play the song SONG 2"I get the following response:"okay, playing SONG 2 on [name of my Sonos speaker]. I'm sorry that mode isn't available right now" So obviously Google Home is recognising that I'm currently using the Spotify service on Sonos but something (on the Sonos side?) is stopping it. What?  

Hello! I have a Sonos 1 in the kitchen where I use Google Assistant for music, news and Spotify playback. Music works fine and plays back without issue but we often have an issue where podcasts and specifically CBC World Report playback cuts off early, usually around the same point every day with the speaker stopping the stream mid-sentence after about 4 minutes and instantly announcing “That’s all for now.”All devices updates. No issues with wifi or internet. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hei,Jeg benytter Google Assistant på mine Sonos One som er paret til stereo.  På grunn av små barn i huset har jeg måtte flytte den ene høyttaleren. Og nå står den som tar i mot kommando til Google Assistant litt dumt til. Er det noen måte å endre det slik at venstre høytaler er den som tar i mot kommandoer til Google?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have a number of Sonos products including a Beam and Two Sonos Ones Gen 2. The Google Assistant that I have set up with the products is truly awful. I have to ask it several times to play a song or to even stop, it doesn't understand questions like “what time is it”. I have 3 nest minis and these work perfectly and understand every command. The nest minis are much further away from the router than all my Sonos products. My Beam is right beside my router. Can anyone help?  thanks  

Is it possible to specify a Spotify album be played via the Google Assistant, rather than a song of the same name? If I say “Hey Google, play the <album name> album” it will play a song matching the album name, rather than the album.

Hi.I have two sonos one (gen 2) speakers - they have worked just fine toghether with Google Assistant for a while.But recently they often answer “I’m sorry but the speaker is not available right now”. This happens after the GA first tells me it will play something at Spotify or Tune in.I have tried to restart the router and also reset both speakers and again added them to the sonos app and GA. But the problem is still there.Any ideas what could be the problem?

Hey! I have run into a problem with my Google Assistant (G.A.) on my Sonos One (Gen 2).The problem is the fact that it does not respond to any command or query I provide, yet it does always perfectly register and acknowledge me saying “Hey/OK Google”. I have gone online already in search for answers and I have noticed a lot of users with very similar stories to mine. All the fixes listed in those listings, I have already tried. I have already checked if everything is linked properly, language settings are in order, I have fully deleted G.A. from the speaker and reinstalled it to no avail. It never fails to recognize me activating G.A. but the light comes on, stays on, sometimes flickers, and still does absolutely nothing! Has anyone else run into this problem and did manage to fix it? 

Ik zie onze Beam en 2 Symfonisk 2 maal in Google Home. Ofwel 6 ipv 3 toestellen. In GoogleHome krig ik alleen een optie om ze te ontkoppelen, maar dat ontkoppel ik de verbinding met Google voor alle. Geen succes dus. Andere ervaringen of oplossingen?

I was not able to broadcast from or to Sonos beam with google assistant. Suggestions on similar threads have been not effective in solving the issue. I got said there are no speakers associated with this account, in response to tentatives to broadcast from Sonos beam.The solution is to have exactly the same address associated with the Sonus beam and google home account including street number. Originally they were a little different.Once I set the same address the issue is solved.

Just to be clear I’m not asking about duplicate responses on Google speakers, or Android devices.   I have an open floor plan.  On one end I have a stereo pair of Ones (dining room).  And on the other end I have a Beam in a surround setup with a pair of Symfonisk (living room).   When I’m standing in the middle (kitchen) and use the Google Assistant both rooms respond.  (Beam in living room and a One in the dining room.)   Even if I walk up to the Beam and whisper, still both respond.   The devices are about 35 feet apart.I’ve experimented with grouping and ungrouping the speakers, and that doesn’t make any difference.What’s weird...is that upstairs I have a One in my master bedroom and a One in the master bathroom.  These are about five feet apart.  When I use Google Assistant there, only one will respond.   I’ve never had this problem and it doesn’t matter how the speakers are grouped or ungrouped.I’ve been using GA upstairs on my Ones for a long t

Hiya. Has anyone experienced issues with Google Home dropping Sonos devices? When I open google home it does not list all my Sonos speakers. what is odd is if I unlink Sonos and reconnect to Google home it lists a different subset of my Sonos speakers - or has connected to some it wasn't previously connected to and dropped previously connected ones! So it can see them it just is not consistent.Ihave a similar issue with Assistant in that it won't connect to all available (those that can work with assistant) - if I tap on voice settings in the Sonos app it shows the other devices as untucked but when I select them and it launches Google Assistant it says it can't find any devices.

I have a Google mini and a Sonos play:3 in the same room. Since the play:3 does not have voice, I have to ask the Google mini to play the music. If I just say: "hey google, play some music" the music plays on the mini which is definitely not what anyone wants... I have to say the room where the speaker is but not only that, if I setup both speaker in the same room the mini still gets the job. You can set default media playback device for the Google mini but no Sonos speakers can be selected. Is that it? Is that what we waiting so long for? Cause if that's so, I'm getting rid of all of this and just getting Chromecast enabled speakers. Please let me know I did something stupid and this can be fixed.

I am trying to set up Google Assistant as my voice assistant on my Sonos One.  During the setup process in the Sonos app, I am prompted to download the Google app...but the Play Store gives me an error when I try to install the Google app.  My phone has the Android Go operating system installed...and Android Go devices contain the “Google Go” app rather than the “Google” app.Is anyone aware of a solution or workaround to this problem?  I just bought my Android Go phone for the sole purpose of setting to set up my Sonos One, so I don’t want to buy a second additional phone.  I also have an older android tablet that has the Google app installed, but it won’t let me install the Sonos app...whereas my phone lets me install the Sonos app, but not the Google app.

My Sonos Beam and Move products don’t recognize my routines that I have set up in the google up. Can anyone help me fix this?

I’ve gotten my daughter a sonos one so that she can play her own music (she doesn’t have a mobile of her own yet so speaking to the speaker felt like a good solution). However any music started from google assistant takes over my music in the rest of the house. Has anyone configured their system to allow for two speakers connected to google assistant that can play different songs on different speakers  simultaneously? I use Spotify family subscription and separate accounts. Can anyone point me to the solution?
