I have the privacy settings set pretty tight on Google … no web activity, no location activity, etc. I’m having issues with GA interacting w/ Sonos. I can see the devices in Google Home settings, but when I try to play music on one of them it resonds, “To get help with that, I’ll need more information...”. I assume that’s Google oblique way of telling me I need pull my privacy pants down and go full-blown GA.
I installed at used the Assistant without any problems and working fine. After sine time it stop working. No respons or connection at all. The light in the microphone on the speaker is off.tried to reinstall via the Sonos app and same isssue - works for a while and Them stops again. any ideas?
It’s like I subscribed to the “weird bug of the day” club when I decided to put Google Assistant on Sonos. Today I can’t pause playback of my playlist on Sonos. Google can start and pause music from other sources on my Sonos speakers (can’t say “stop” any more, that was the weird bug of a previous day). But it can’t pause playback of my Sonos playlist from my local library - since yesterday it says “sorry, I can’t contact Sonos”, but only when attempting to pause playback of my local playlist. … and now it’s back after the third test this morning. Sigh, it’s something every day.
I would like to create a “group” for all my Sonos speakers within Google Assistant so I can adjust volume, play music etc. on ALL the Sonos speakers at once. I have them assigned to separate rooms, but still would like to address them as one. I have tried creating a “speaker group” in Google Assistant, but the only device that shows up is my Google Home speaker and my Sonos Beam.
My Sonos beam use to confirm changes to lights in the same room with a chime, after google made this change to google assistant. But in the last couple of months it’s gone back to telling me “turning off 4 lights” rather than a discreet chime. I have tried turning my beam off and rebooting but it still won’t go back to using the chime response. Has this feature been broken on Sonos speakers by a Google or Sonos update? I still get the chime response on google home mini’s I have in the house. Thanks
I’ve got my Sonos speakers linked with my Google account and until recently I could tell Google Assistant, either on my phone or on my Nest Hub, to “listen to ‘artist/song’ in the ‘roomname’” and it would play the choice on the Sonos speaker in that room. Something seems to have changed recently though. Now if I say “listen to ‘artist/song’ in the “roomname” it ignores the room and just plays on the device that received the request. The Sonos speakers show up in Google Home and in the correct rooms, when someone rings my Nest doorbell the Sonos speakers announce that there’s someone at the door, and if I ask the Assistant to “play ‘artist/song’ on ‘speakername’” it will work. I’ve tried moving the speakers between rooms in the app, I’ve unlinked and relinked my Sonos account and I’ve made sure that my One speakers are set up to use Assistant too, just in case, but it still won’t work as it used to. Any ideas?
Many of us were waiting for Google Assistant integration to Sonos and the most important thing for us was the hope that it brings Chromecast built-in to Sonos but today we can see that... No. No Chromecast on Sonos. That is very very sad. Assistant is useless with some artists and songs with complicated names and often it is not the most suitable way to play music. And Android users still can't cast any sound from their phones to Sonos (iOS users can via Airplay 2). Sad but true.
When I ask my Sonos: "Hey, Google! Play Heart 80s". It replies with: "Playing Heart 80s on TuneIn". However, it then says: "Sorry I can't find what you asked for". This is really disappointing, because Alexa plays radio stations without any issues. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
If I ask Google home to play a specific genre of music on Sonos, it always says that Google Play Music isn't connected to Sonos, which is true, though Pandora, Amazon music,iHeart radio, etc are. If I tell Google to turn on Sonos, it plays whatever genre of music on whatever service was last listened to. I don't seem to be able to specify which service to use. Is there a way of specifying a default music service for Google to use on Sonos? Is there a way if specifying which service to use?
Hi, I have an existing speaker group consisting of some Google Home speakers and would like to incorporate Sonos (Ikea Symphonic) into this. Anyone know how this is done, is it even possible? Speaker not found in Home app when setting up speaker group. Alternatively, anyone who has experience with other speakers working in the Google Speaker Group?
I would like to be able to turn on music on my sonos speakers using Google Assistant. However, it can only play from Pandora. I can’t figure out how to play from the Sonos Music Library, or a Sonos Playlist. Is there a way to do this?
Can you use multiple Play:1 speakers with Google Home, or in multiple homes? I've recently added a Google Nest Mini to my house & my parents. We both have Sonos Play:1 speakers and I can see and control mine absolutely fine - Google controls changing the radio or volume or playing a podcast absolutely great. I found I couldn't add a second Play:1 speaker, and figured it might be because I had registered each one on a different Sonos account/email address. Changed that, reset both devices but still no joy. I plan on trying both speakers at the same location, but surely I can't be the only person doing similar? Google Home support weren't much help - after being told they needed to be on the same WiFi - ie change the WiFi at both homes to have the same SSID and password, they then told me Google Home can't have more than one speaker setup unless it's on the same WiFi network. That simply can't be true as I have each nest speaker currently setup and working fine, different wifi in d
I got a pair Sonos One to listen to music in my bedroom. I use Google assistant as the voice control. Every time I ask to play music, the Sonos One play music on my living room Google Nest Hub. Even I tell it play on the bedroom speakers, it feedback that it does understand me or some thing funny, just refuse to play music on itself. Since like this, why I buy this two speakers? I have been trying to figure out why, but by now, I didn’t get the why. Another thing, when I tell it to play the news, only one of the speaker work, even though I have paired them as stereo speakers. One more thing, I use MacBook Pro to cast to the pair, but the sound just keep cutting off and on. Can’t figure out why and what to do. It’s quite weird and frustrating. Please Help!!
I currently use Google Assistant in 2 different places, lets call them home1 and home2. Both homes are set up under different locations in the google home app (home1 and home2) , and all cast devices are appropriately assigned. In home1, I have a chromecast connected to a TV, and have been using Google assistant to turn off the TV ("turn off TV' usually works). Recently, I have set up a sonos beam with google assistant in home2. Now, when I am in home1, and ask Google assistant to 'turn off TV', it says 'turning off Sonos TV control'. This is referring to a Sonos TV control device that has been assigned to home2 (I assume is a feature of the Sonos Beam). I have no sonos devices in home1. I have tried renaming my Home1 TV to something else (television for example), with no change - the command to turn it off keeps activating this Sonos TV control located in home2. Anyone have any idea how to stop Google assistant from calling on a device not located within my current loca
I bought the new Sonos One Second Generation speaker a few days ago. Over the last few days I have uploaded all of my record library onto the Google Play Music program (free sevice). However, I can play any track on the speaker from the Sonos App on my phone but when I use a voice command I keep getting the message “Sorry, the requested content isn’t available for your Google Play music subscription here”. I bought the Sonos One on the assumption that I would be able to do this without having to subscribe to any other service. Please advise.
