Sonos as default speaker for music?
After the outage earlier today I finally have everything working and I couldn't be happier (I can play, pause and change volume on my old Play 3s with my voice which is all I wanted for two years now). But it's a little unfortunate that in a room with (1) a Google home and (2) a sonos speaker, I still have to append "on the kitchen Sonos" to my requests to begin playing music (otherwise the music plays on the answering Google device). The Google home app lets you configure what the default device is for playing music, and it lists not only my various Google speakers but also my vizio TVs on the network, etc., but it strangely doesn't list my sonos speakers. Is there a way to make this happen?
Voice command to play Spotify doesn't work again
My Beam is acting glitchy again. Voice command to ask Spotify to play was working the other day now it isn't. It says "I can't do that here but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices." However, if I use Spotify Connect, it works. All other voice commands work.
There's a bug with google assistant on sonos and playing tunein stations.
almost 50% of the stations that i ask google assistant to play on the sonos won't play and i will get this error. google assistant says: sorry it looks like the requested content isn't currently available on tunein. This is not true. these stations work when i use the sonos app to play. furthermore, these stations work when my friends use google home to play the same stations i want to play. so basically, when i ask google assistant to play these stations for me i get that error but if i use the sonos app it will play the stations.
Google Assistant and Ukraine
Ok, Sonos MOD EDIT: PROFANITY. I'm from Ukraine and I bought two Sonos One and planning to buy Beam in the future. I bought it even though Alexa do not work with Russian language at all as I heared that there will be Google Assistant which is working perfectly on my Android device. And now I MOD EDIT: PROFANITY can not activate it, as it says that's it's not available in my country. Again it's working perfectly on my Android device. I can assure you it understands Russian perfectly, moreover almost everyone person from post USSR country understands Russian and can talk on it. So what the MOD EDIT: PROFANITY problem to activate it as it was done by Google themselves? I bought two Ones, a Sub and was planning to buy Beam. Not planning now for sure. I've seen the topic of 'casting', specifically in terms of how the Google/Sonos integration works, discussed in various topics recently. I thought it might be useful and fun (for me at least) to have a separate topic. First, I'd define casting very broadly. I'll say that casting is the process of interacting with one electronic device (A) for the purpose of causing a second device B to playback audio or video without wires. This definitely is broader than one you'd typically think of as casting, but I think it's worth defining it this way to better understand the interactions. Maybe 'control' is better word to use, with casting being a subset, but control would go well beyond audio/video, and I wish to limit the scope. So second, in an attempt to categories the types of casting, given how I've defined it, here what I see. 1 - Stream casting (probably a better word for this) - This is where device A actually passes the audio/video content to device B. Device A could be ge
What's going on?
Ive just tried to change radio stations using assistant and now suddenly my speaker isn't available anymore eventhough it was just playing. This is just a recent example but there just seems to be endless issues and incomplete functionality with assistant. Nobody from Sonos is explaining what's happening or why we had to wait so long for something so bad.
Google home mini and Sonos with Google Assistant in the same room
I have a google home mini and the Sonos beam in the same room, and they are linked in the Google Assistant app. However, when I ask a question such as “Hey Google, what time is it?”, both the Home Mini and the Beam answer (not in sync with each other, so they talk over each other). Is there any way to get just one or the other to answer, but not both?
Error Linking to Google Asst - Need to Register Speakers
This is a bit complicated: I have tried several times to link my Sonos One speaker pair to Google Assistant. I’ve tried in a couple of different ways: From the SONOS App, and when that failed from my google home app. In both cases I eventually ran into a notification screen stating I need to register my speakers. As far as I remember my speakers are registered, and the app and speakers are working fine. I followed the directions that popped up, stating to go to account settings to register speakers, and that if I cannot I need to perform an update. I went to account settings and did not find a way to register my speakers, so I attempted an update but the app is already up to date.
Sonos with Google Home Perhaps not as good as Alexa
So I have a playbar with a sub and a 1st gen Play 5. I successfully linked my sonos account with my Google home account. The Sonos speakers show up as devices, but when i try to give a google home command based on the name it says in my sonos, Google home doesn't know the device. Using Alexa before had no issues with these devices. Can someone explain what the issue is.
Controlling Sonos groups with assistant
Is there a way to control Sonos room groupings via assistant? Understood you can’t group google groups with Sonos groups. In my case I am strictly interested in controlling Sonos groups. I have common groupings id like to configure. Instead of setting them up manually I’d love a way of setting these groups up on command

Inconsistency in how Sonos groups are handled via Google Assistant
Hello all! I've chatted with Sonos support on Twitter regarding my issue, but I am not entirely convinced by their answer. Here is my setup:

Two Sonos Play:1 stereo pairs, spread over four rooms.
One Play:5 in the fifth room.
I end up with three groups, group1 (stereo pair), group2 (stereo pair) and group3 (single stereo speaker).
After linking my Sonos with Google Assistant through the app, all the three groups be seen I the Google Home app. Here is where the fun begins. If I say to my Google Home: "Play music on Sonos", "Play next on Sonos", "play previous on Sonos", I get responses like "OK, playing music on [name of the Sonos group name]" (I don't know how Google Home decides which one. Say, this is not a big deal... However, if I say "set volume to 20% on Sonos" or "turn it up / down on Sonos", only the volume on one of the Sonos groups is changed. If I want to change the volume on all of the groups, I have to give the command for each group sepa
Two Google assistant accounts
Hi, I have a Play:3 I'm controlling with a Google home mini. In the home mini we use voice match so it recognizes who is taking (my wife or me) so I wonder if it's possible to link the sonos to two different assistant accounts so it plays my or my wife's music depending on who is taking. Do you know if it's possible?
Tried Google Assistant on my sonos one but I keep getting this response.
When I say “Hey google, play a song” it replies with “I can’t do that here, but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices” For some reason it doesn’t recognise the sonos speaker itself as a device to play from but if I’m already playing music on it, it can stop play next and everything. Google assistant is so much better than alexa for me since I have a ton of chromecast built-in devices. I fix would be great thanks
Google Assistant Skill Setup: Sonos Not Recognizing Linked Speakers
I have Play5 and Play3 speakers throughout our home. My Sonos account is logged in through the same email address I use for my Google Assistant. My Sonos account correctly lists all of my speakers I own as part of my system. So why, when setting up the Google Assistant skill, am I unable to get the setup wizard to recognize that fact and continue through the setup? Google Assistant Integration Music Alarms Media recognition issue
When i try to set a music alarm using the new google assistant integration. It never recognizes the media. For example , I can say " Hey Google, Play paino in the background " and it plays this playlist from spotify. However if i say "Hey Google, Set paino in the background playlist for 4pm" ..it replies " Okay , what would you like to play" and then regardless of what i say , it keeps saying "Sorry , What did you want me to play " and after a few tries sets a standard alarm Is this feature officially supported? Is this a bug that needs fixing?
Sonos One + Google Assistant + Youtube Music causes bugs in the EU
My Sonos One is registered to my address in the U.S., but I brought it with me to Europe. Google Assistant works fine most of the time and can be used to put on songs from Youtube Music. However, occasionally, Google Assistant puts on a version of the song that seems to be inaccessible in the EU region. For instance, if I ask it to play Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" or "Bad Blood", it says, e.g., "Okay, putting on Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space'". However, the song is then immediately paused before it even starts playing, and a window is shown, saying that "Playback paused because this account is being used in another location". However, this is wrong; my account is not being used elsewhere, and most other songs work fine. On closer inspection, I realized that the version of Blank Space it puts on is called "Blank Space – Taylor Swift ⋅ 1989 (Deluxe Edition)". No song with exactly that title shows up when I search through Youtube Music manually (in the EU); the version of Blank Space
Google assistant can't play/pause/control my speakers at all
Everytime i ask it to play music, tunein or do anything with the speakers, it just says: It looks like the "den" isn't available right now. Den is my stereo pare speakers. Please help? I've tried removing the service and reinstalling google assistant, restarting router, unplugging and plugging my speakers.
