When adding my Beam as the default music speaker on google assistant will music only be played on the beam when I use voice commands? Previously I had a JBL bluetooth speaker set as the default music speaker and I didnt need to issue voice commands to get music to play through it. I currently have the beam set as the default speaker but no music will come from it, it only comes from the google home mini. I subscribe to Amazon music and much prefer not to use voice commands when selecting my music to play and would rather use the Amazon app than the Sonos app for selecting my music to stream. Just making sure I understand the capabilities of my system.
Hi all, need a little help here. I am in the malaysia region. Had purchase Sonos One and the sales person mention that it can be linked up to my Google nest mini. But apparently it doesn't seems to work for me, on Sonos app, it does have the voice control column anywhere. Had also tried to change my country to US but still unable to linked it to google home. =(
I have three Sonos devices in my current setup, all connected to Google Assistant (GA). Two are Google One: gen 2's and I'm seeing some interesting behavior on one called "Master Bath." To be clear:

GA works most of the time on each of them
In each case, GA is fully responsive through the target speaker, but says the device itself is "not available right now."
"Master Bath" is a unique name on the network
Master Bath is visible to the Google Home app and to the Sonos app when this happens
There is no outage currently reported at https://status.sonos.com/
Several times, I have started music (e.g. Ok, Google, play Led Zeppelin or stream MSNBC, etc.). Then, when I say, "Ok, Google, stop," it replies, "It looks like Master Bath is not available right now." Other times, it has been quiet (I stop the playing through the Sonos app in order to get it to stop), and I say, "Ok, Google, play Jack White," and it might also reply
Hi. I have configured Google Assistant to read the latest news broadcasts on request. This works fine on my phone where I first get a summary of the cast to be read, describing news source/radio station, then the timestamp for the latest news and finally the news broadcast. When trying the same on Sonos the initial summary is read but then nothing of the broadcast is read at all. Is this a known issue? I find it strange that it can be played by phone but not on Sonos. Some issue with file format/codec not supported by Sonos?
Hy thereThis question has been asked for Alexa before (with no solution yet, if i’m not wrong) and it appears to be the same annoyance with the google assistant:Is there a way to change the activation keyword? I’m aware this could be a technical problem, that can only be solved with google and the assistant itself, but since it’s very annoying, i desperately looking for a solution. Why is this necessary? Surprisingly there a many housholds with more than one member. And all of these members have there own google account. So, i’m standing in the living room, saying “ok google” to play some music or ask for the daily schedule. Then, often 5 or more devices respond to my request, most of the time with a different result, due to the different accounts. This is just unusable. That leads also to the sidequestion: Is there a plan (somwhere in the future) to support several google acconts (assistants) in one sonos environment? So then, the system may detect the requester by voice and brings up t
Why the heck when I say "Google Play daughter by Pearl jam" does Google Play daughter_instant_Karma??? Is this a sick joke by Sonos or Google? I just about jumped out of the shower and beat that POS into pieces after half a dozen failed attempts all ending in Google playing the wrong song. This is just the latest example of GA being unable to actually pick the song I literally asked for. Wtf
is is possible that I you cannot connect a Google Home mini device to a pair of Sonos SL? for the sake of requesting music from Google assistant to be played on the Sonos speakers... I get a message that the service is not supported in my country (Israel) I had 0 problems doing so with Amazon Alexa which has no support in Israel whatsoever
Dear readers, I bought a Sonos One about a month ago and started experiencing problems with it the past week. It suddenly became unresponsive. Now, there are a lot of threads on this issue advising to pauze the Voice & Audio Activity option in the GA settings. When I do this, the GA is practically useless to control my other smart home devices such as my robot vacuum cleaner or my lighting. After giving in a command regarding my smart home devices I get the GA response “If you want help, you need to give me more information, you can do this in the Google Assistant app.” So now I am some sort of a dead loop. No matter what the Voice & Audio Activity option is set to, the GA does not work as it should. Now, I have had elaborate contact with the Dutch Sonos support service, they acknowledge the issue and it has been under investigation together with Google for 6 months. Unfortunately, Sonos remains passive in resolving this issue and point at Google to solve the issue and blame
I recently bought a Sonos Beam and connected to my new samsung TV via HDMI ARC. Built-in Google assitant on Beam was working fine. Then I bought a couple of symfonisk bookselves and grouped the 3 devices together in the same room. As soon as I did that, the Beam stoped listening to my google comands. Any way to fix this? Thanks!
Hello everybody. I'm trying to stream music on my 5.1 sonos setup by asking Google Assistant. I set up the sonos as default speaker and it is working now or less ok. The only problem is that only the play bar is actually used for reproducing the music, while all the other speakers are silent. Is this yet another bug in the sonos integration or am i missing something?

Hi Crew, I have a case where an old Sonos system is showing up in google home. When I go to play music via a google hub in the same room, it sometimes tries to stream to the old recycled device. I tired to delete the device from google home, but the only option I get is to unlink Sonos which I obviously don’t want to do. im assuming this is an API issue between Sonos and google, and Sonos is sending info about the old recycled device, when it shouldn’t. any suggestions?
I have previously had my Beam connected to Google assistant and all worked perfectly. I have now moved and setup all Sonos devices (Beam, 2xS3, 2xS1 and 2xS1(gen2) and now I can’t get GA activated. In the Sonos app, I select one of the speakers in the GA menu and it opens the GA app. After a few minutes, the GA app prompts ‘an error occurred.Try again’. Going through the GA assistant app directly, I can add Sonos as a service, but no devices are shown. Same experience in the Google Home app Both speakers and all apps are updated to latest version. Spotify is connected to the Sonos system and besides the GA connection, all works perfectly. Before setup on the new network, all speakers were resat to factory settings and a new system was configured. What is wrong here? How do I get GA activates on the Beam and the 2xS1(gen2)?
Have two sonos one in different room. When use alexa it works nice but when use Google assistent it not work so good. The spelare is not a stereo pair but when i talk to one spelar it Always answer in the same one. So for example when I ask something in kitchen it answers in bedroom and it I ask in bedroom it answer in bedroom. Have someone have same issue? Its like it's a software issue here and as I say it works with Alexa
Hi all, Im pretty new to the Sonos family. When I use Google Home and say “Play music Metallica on Sonos” my living room sonos speaker turns on and playing that. But I have more speakers in the house. How do I get Google Home to play on all speakers or a set of group as default, such as all speakers in the ground floor. I tried things like “Play music Metallica on Sonos all speakers” etc but no luck. Is this even possible?
Do we know if Amazon Alexa will be able to do this? I am having an issue with the Google Assistant and am debating switching home assistance from Google to Amazon in order to get this fixed; it is SUCH an annoying problem and makes these speakers not worth the money. I got the speakers to have better sound on my TV (I have two Sonos Play:1 and the Sonos Beam Shadow Edition) and be able to play music on them by simply telling my google assistance (around the house, not on the beam itself) to play music on my speakers. This doesn't work? When the two Sonos Play:1 speakers were NOT connected to the Beam I was able to do this; I could play music on the Sonos Play:1 speakers by speaking to my google home devices around my house by asking them to play music on “the speakers”; no problems there. The issue came in when I connected the two Sonos Play:1 devices to my Sonos Beam for surround sound. The second I connected the two Sonos Play:1 devices to the Beam I was unable to control the sp
I have some google home speakers and when i say "ok Google, play (song name)" it plays this song and automatically plays its Radio. This is not happening at Sonos Beam. I ask a music, it only plays this music and stop. How can i enable autoplay? (autoplay is enabled at spotify)
Hej! Men samma problem ändå. Tacksam för hjälp!
I have connected Google Play Music to SONOS. I try to cast my music from my Samsung device using Google Play Music to one of my SONOS speakers and I get an error message “Can’t play this song, upload it to Play Music from your computer”. When I select cast again it shows as casting but nothing is playing on the speaker. From within SONOS, if I select Google Play Music it does not display my library of songs, instead it says “Play Music’s free radio isn’t playable on SONOS app. Use Play Music or play your purchased and uploaded music.”
At first my Sonos One worked good with Google assist, I got myself a small google home mini to be placed upstairs, while Sonos one stayed downstairs. It all did work ok, although the Google Home Mini always reacted correct when asked. The Sonos one it looked as if it was lost in translation, or simply didnt hear me anymore. My native languages is Dutch so I had it set in Dutch and also English as it looked as if Google Assist was better in English tehn Dutch. But these days the Sonos One does nothing, I can shout HEY GOOGLE or OK GOOGLE en sometime when lucky he replies back in English with: Sorry I did not understand the question, but most of the time, it doesnt do anything, so I am forced to play Spotify using an Ipad as Voice responce doesnt work at all on the Sonos One. Again, it works perfect on the Google Home Mini, but of course I want to have a Sonos One that works perfect. Any advice would be helpfull Thank you
I need some help to figure out how Google Assistant will worK: I have two homes - Sweden and Spain - and therefore two setups of systems (one from 2013 and the other from 2015). I use Spotify on both systems. Now I would like to buy a Sonos One with Google Assistant - and I think this will work with Spotify in Sweden…? But... Will it work in Spain…? Can I set the language to Swedish also in Spain...?
Since using GA on Sonos it seems to have got progressively worse. Not responding to voice commands or mishearing. I've tried a number of tips to no avail which is sad as on the odd occasion that it works it's brilliant. Also I don't seem to be able to control which speaker the GA listens from. Is there anything in the works to make this work as intended?
