I have a Google Hub. Before adding the Sonos Beam, I could play Pandora from the hub, and the hub's display would show what was playing on Pandora and basic controls (for example, I could thumbs up/down). Now that I've added the Beam, the music plays from the Beam - which is perfect - but it no longer displays Pandora on the hub. I have to go into the Sonos app on my phone to see what's playing. But, if I say, "Hey Google... play Ella Fitzgerald radio on Pandora on kitchen display" (which is the hub), it displays Pandora on the hub, but the music also plays from the hub and not from the Beam. How can I play Pandora (or whatever, really) by voice control to my hub, have it display on the hub, but play on the Beam? The Beam is set as the default speaker for my hub.
So I'm a huge sonos fan, and recently upgraded to the Beam, which is my first sonos device with Google Assistant support. One thing that google has improved is reducing how chatty the google nest mini is when you turn off lights. You can see them turn off, so having it tell you that it turn them off is a bit over the top.I noticed the Beam does the old behavior of repeating back which lights are being turned off.I'd love to see the Beam updated to not do this.More Info:https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/10509024
Hi, having just set up the Arc and a Gen 3 Sub, I thought I would add Google Assistant. Unfortunately, when I get to the point, where it asks you to login to my Sonos account, it just say that my email address or password is incorrect! I checked and double checked my Sonos account details, and I am inputting the correct details. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Google Assistant, but it still says my account details are incorrect. Now what? TIA
So we regularly use Google assistant ambient sleep sound when going to bed. Everything works fine over all, but the only thing bumming us out is that the ambient sound is only playing from the Arc, is it possible to make it play it from all speakers?I’m guessing it only plays the sleep sound from the Arc like Google assistant voice does? Is it possible to allow Google assistant voice to play trough all speakers as well?
Hi - wonder if someone can give me a pointer.I’ve got 4 sonos units working on the new S2 system, all hooked up to Alexa and working fine.I thought I might be able to use my old Play:5 which is on a standalone S1 controller with a Google Nest Mini. Whilst I’ve enabled Google Assistant on it Google Home doesn’t see it (all the others show up). Searching for devices doesn’t help.Am I just trying to do something that isn’t possible? Thanks
I have a Beam and two One SL in a surround setup in my living room, and I’m considering adding a One for my kitchen which is in the other part of my apartment. My question is if I will be able to use Google Assistant in the One as well, or can Sonos only handle one microphone in a setup, even though the microphones are in different rooms?
I have the ARC and 2 One(s), all in my Media Room. I have Alexa on the ARC. How do I add Google to my One? When I try to do so, I just see “Alexa Enabled” and I don’t have any other options. Is it possible to do what I want?
Arc keeps repeating « Mic is muted » then « the mic is back on » I believe it’s the google assistant. I can’t figure out a pattern. It’s very annoying. Sometimes it’s 5 secs appart. Sometimes minutes.
So a rarely use GA to find specific songs or artists but when I do I find that it works fine. Ok sometimes it might start playing an acoustic version instead but since the artist and song title is the same I can understand that. A friend of mine asked if I could recommend a Sonos One for the start of a multi-room system with GA integrated and I did recommend it. But no he’s not satisfied at all because he thinks that the response and action from GA on Sonos doesn’t work compared to his Google Home.In my world it should be the same since GA on Sonos just contacts the GA servers and get a response and action from them, using the same algoritms as any GA enabled speaker? Or am I wrong?Upon testing at my place I sometimes do find some differences between the respond and result from GA on Sonos One and GA on Google Home Mini but in general it’s the same and it more seems a bit randomized when there is differences. And the differences is sometimes beneficial for GA on Sonos and sometimes for
I use my Sonos One speakers to listen to radio on TuneIn quite a bit. Around the beginning of this year (2021), a bunch of stations disappeared -- if I ask the Google Assistant to play them it says, sure, then says it can’t find what it’s looking for. The same stations still come up if I ask for them on other Google devices or my Cortana speaker, and certain stations still come up on the Sonos speakers. Is there some reason certain TuneIn stations disappeared from the Sonos -- and only the Sonos -- system?
Hi All Recently I enable google assistant continued conversation on all my SONOS devices. The Sonos ONE is working as expected with continued conversation however I noticed that the ARC does not work for this. Is this feature currently supported on the SONOS ARC?
When are you going to support apple music on Sonos one via google assistant?how hard can it be?I have a google home speaker that now supports Apple, google assistant app supports Apple. I use Apple Music on all my Sonos speakers via the Sonos app.what is the timeline for rectifying this?
I got Deezer and Spotify working with the sonos and google assistant. But when I try to have my sonos play apple music. It said playing apple music then a few second later it saids apple music is not supported by sonos. Only way to play apple music right now is still with the app. Is this normal?
Hi,For several days now that the sonos move speaker does not playing music when I request through Google Assistant and it's only saying "sorry, I can't to that on this device" how can I fix this issue? Thanks.
TLDR - cant use google assistant as my integrated voice control on a sonos Beam as the assistant app fails to find them as devices - but they do show up in the google home app.---------------So, just purchased a Beam. The set up process did not go as smoothly as I had hoped and it took many attempts to get it connected to my WiFi network but eventually it all seemed to be working. I then initially connected it to my Alexa service and that worked fine. However, I decided to switch to google assistant (to avoid command conflicts with an echo that’s in the same room) and it fails to find the device in the assistant app. After many attempts i looked into the devices in the separate google Home app and 2 sonos devices were present (the speaker itself and once called TV control) and my account was linked. Indeed I was able to command the beam from a google hub in a separate room, but the beam itself refused to accept google assistant commands and the sonos S2 app said it wasn't a linked ser
Hello,My Sonos One suddenly stopped responding to voice commands out of nowhere today. The microphone light on top won’t turn on. I did a factory reset and when I try adding a voice assistant through the Sonos app on Android, I immediately get a “Connection problem” error when I tap either Google Assistant or Alexa. It doesn’t even try to connect or search for anything, it just instantly throws this error. What’s the deal? It happens from my wife’s iPhone as well. I’ve unlinked Sonos from my Google Home app and still nothing.I submitted a diagnostic report, 620881377
Imagine Saving up all your money to buy a Sonos Move only to find out that the Google Assistant is nonfunctional of the device? I spent roughly $500 on a SONOS FIX THIS ASAP, theres no excuse for this. Moderator Edit: Offensive language removed
So my wife and I just bought a Sonos Beam and got it setup. Admittedly we did little research before this purchase, we just learned that Google Assistant was added and thought it would be a nice addition and a perfect way to start our road to building out a nice sound system for our home... Unfortunately we have been hit with disappointment after disappointment: 1st was the shoddy setup, we had to do a factory reset out of the box because for whatever reason it wouldn't go through the start up as expected. We resolved the issue, but it was annoying that this device had such a problem not even 5 minutes out of the box. 2nd was this nonsense about not being able to connect multiple accounts to the speaker - this is absolutely ridiculous. My wife setup the device and then when I created my account, thinking I was going to join the speaker and connect my accounts, I was sadly mistaken that the speaker was registered to my wife alone... how is this even still a thing? If the idea is this
Hi, I’ve seen slight variations to this issue on other threads but none that quite address it. Problem Google assistant was not working on the Sonos One speaker (the microphone was not active and not illuminated). In an attempt to resolve this issue I unlinked the Sonos from Google and tried re-linking. Now the situation is that when I go to re-activate the GA service within the Sonos App the following happens: 1.) I'm prompted to add GA to my Sonos 2.) On the "select rooms" page I select the Sonos 3.) I press "add to google assistant" button and I'm re-directed to GA app 4.) This then simply takes me to App Store to purchase/download GA (which I already have)! 5.) When I then go back to Sonos app it says "Linking Google account" and HANGS on this page indefinitely with a spinning wheel. 6.) After a considerable length of time it times out and says "There was a problem adding google assistant". As a work-around for this I've tried adding/linking Sonos from the GA app itself. This
I have a Sonos One. Google Voice services recently quit working and I was not able to successfully re-add them. I did a factory reset on the speaker and I’m now attempting to add the Google Assistant. In that process the Sonos app transfers control to the Google Assistant app. The app is “Looking for devices” but the result is always “No devices found.” I’ve tried this several times. Any suggestions? Ironically, adding Amazon Alexa is a snap. It’s just adding Google I’m having problems with.
Hello all!I recently bought my first Sonos product, a Sonos One, and successfully integrated with Google Home.It is nice to be able to use music services unsing Google Assitant, but what about the music in our phones? Can we expect to be able to launch and manage music stored on our phones with voice commands? Thanks!
Hi, I have google assistant on Sonos Beam and Sonos One. It was all working fine until the S2 app launched a couple of days ago. Now, when I ask a Sonos to play a radio station (e.g. play BBC radio 2), google assistant initially replies with, ‘playing BBC radio 2 from TuneIn (as usual) but then fails and says ‘sorry, I cannot find what you’re looking for’. If I ask google assistant to play music it works fine (using Spotify). I assume this is a TuneIn issue but the status page isn’t reporting any problems. I removed TuneIn service from the Sonos S2 app and re-added it, made no difference. I also rebooted all the speakers, also made no difference. Any ideas? Is there a problem with TuneIn? Thanks
I have a Sony TV that has been connected to Google Home. Just added a Beam surround system to the TV using the HDMI-ARC cable. In the Google Home menu, the TV is listed, the Sonos system is now listed, and a new device is listed that is the TV linked to Sonos (the device has a much longer name). Is there a way to link the existing TV to Sonos and delete the new device? Thanks for your help.
