Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have an existing Sonos system that worked fine with my older Samsung TV.   I recently replaced the TV with another Samsung.   When I try to use the optical connection (one end in the TV and the other into the soundbar as with the other TV), all I get is chattering with nothing intelligible.  It doesn't matter if it is DISH, Netflix or Amazon.  Shouldn't it just work by plugging it in the same way? 

Used to sing praises of Sonos and usability.  What happened?  Is it the new app.  Spent over an hour just trying to get roam 2 connected to network then tried to use with roam gen 1 as a surround.  Not a fan anymore.  Won’t work.  How did things change with Sonos overnight????? 

It’s mind blowing the poor quality of the service you provide. I’m so tired of it.  How is it that every time I try to play music on my Roam I can’t! when I play music on my bean and other speakers through wifi and want to add my roam to the mix it doesn’t work. Whether through Spotify or Sonos app. I have to basically shut down everything and reset the Roam for it to play. What kind of tech is this? After so many complaints from customers and still buggy app.  You guys were supposed to add the controls from the lock screen. Nope still nothing. Even in the control center it doesn’t show up. (IOS) the app is useless. I 99% avoid it at all cost. Unless I have to connect a Roam. and yes I have renamed my Sonos profile F***sonos  because I’m so pissed about the services   Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct. 

Hi, I have a question. I purchased an Arc Ultra Era 300 and an Era 300 Sub 4 a few days ago and I connected them together as surround sound, but I realized that if I put songs that don't support Dolby Atmos/Digital on, the Era 300 doesn't work, only the Arc Ultra works. Is it right to be concerned?

BEAM reset to factory settings and then go thru the add component optionsCompletes and get the message below - no Beam anywhere after unplugging - nothing to do in system Settings either.      

Can you guys seriously listen to the consumer?! I see several feature request for a schedule, timer, or auto shut off for Night Sound and Speech Enhancement?! Since having a kid it’s constantly left on for days sometimes weeks till I wonder why my system sounds off then remember to check. The worst of it for Sonos is that I’ve tried to show off my system a couple times to family/friends while wondering why it didn’t have the kick or immersive sound only to realize after the fact that those settings were left on. I see several community and Reddit posts requesting this feature spanning several years. It longer feels like a nice to have feature and more of a nuisance at this point.

I can’t “heart” Apple Music songs in the Sonos app, like I might be able to in SoundCloud, which shows the heart next to the song title in the same screen that contains album art and music controls (play, pause, seek, etc).

This is driving me crazy. I’ve got Spotify desktop app open on Win10. I can play an album or playlist fine, in the order I want. Shuffle options are OFFAs soon as I use the Spotify app to “Connect to a device” (in this case a Roam sitting next to the laptop) the queue completely changes and the SHUFFLE option turns on in Spotify. If I disconnect the Roam, the shuffle feature turns back off and the queue reverts back to normal.What is going on?To compound matters, the exact same thing happens if I use the iOS version of the Spotify app yo connect to the Sonos Roam. If I choose to play the music on the phone, it reverts back to the normal order. If I try to launch the playlist from from the desktop Sonos app (ver 16.6  S2  83161210) I just get “the connection to Spotify was lost” error message.  It’s unusable. I’ve tried uninstalling the Spotify service, reinstalling it again too.If I try to use the Sonos ios app, the same thing.

Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can assist me. I have a number of issues with the playback with my system but today my question concerns the Sonos app. The Brennan will send 20 music tracks to Symfonisk and start to play. The album art is displayed on the “now playing” page along with the Artist/Track information. However the queue does not show any information only 20 placeholders. Actually it does display the animated “playing” bars for the track now playing and advances to the next track when it should. If the artwork and track information is available to the “now playing” page why is it not showing in the queue? I have tried the Windows app and it shows everything. The artwork and track information is clearly visible. I’m thinking it’s an app problem but is it a setting that I’ve missed? Any suggestions?

Since the last update, trueplay process isn't saved in the end (see the picture, i can't toggle trueplay on or off after process) i tried on iOS and android, same issueArc ultra + sub gen 2+ era 100 

Simple question - why is the Sonos app so slow? When I open Apple Music or Spotify, there is no loading time. The Sonos app seems to be 5-10 seconds. Even clicking on a platform source and finding a song is slower. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just isn’t snappy like other services.  my alternative is to have Apple Music send directly to my Sonos speakers, but it doesn’t appear to play Atmos if I do that.  is there any chance Sonos will make their app as fast as the service apps, or allow me to send Atmos to my 300s?

My Roam 2 was working fine this morning. I turned it off during a phone call. When I pressed play again, I got a “Not connected. No products found on [name of my wifi network].” Each time I went to System settings and had to reconnect it to my wifi network. I did not touch or change anything between the time I turned the music off and when I turned it on again. 

I recently replaced my Sony with a Samsung S95D. Now the Sonos Arc will show it is connected, but no sound comes out. I have tried multiple HDMI cables, and it lasts a couple days, then the sound becomes choppy and then no sound. I have called Samsung as they state since the sound bar shows it is connected, it is a Sonos issue. I have reset the Sonos soundbar, reinstalled, reset the tv, and there are no other HDMI sources connected to the TV.  HDMI e-Arc is turned offTried Digital Output Audio set to Auto and PCMReset External Device Manager Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) to off and on.Sonos ARC has up to date firmware Version 17.0 (build 85.0-64200)I am at a loss. 

My Sonos app will not recognize my sub nor my play 1 speakers. Just changed phone recently to an Apple 16. Trying to switch to Verizon wireless. It was all working fine before those changes. I tried to turn off, sign out, disconnect and reconnect, delete the app and the download the app and tried a factory reset in which the app will not allow me to do, any other options out there, is anyone having the same problems ??

My Connect:Amp occasionally drops-out and regularly stops tracks 10 seconds before the end. It continues to play the next track at the right time and stays in sync on timing with all my other Connect:Amps, Play 1s and Play 5, but just stops playing for the final 10 seconds.It is on the latest firmware. Every device is hard-wired. A reboot doesn’t make any difference.My setup has been stable (since some issues last year totally coincidentally about the time of the app debacle where some of the devices moved to new firmware and others didn’t. I now update them all manually so I can monitor updates and ensure they don’t break everything) except for this one device (and the general slowness of the app everyone has, of course). 

We have a pair (paired) Sonos Move in our sauna and have some issues with the connection being high jacked from other devices. Say my daughter is in the sauna playing music and after finishing up she leaves and turns off Spotify on her mobile. Then I go to the sauna and I connect to the Move and play music. Then, if my daughter turns on her Spotify again the Move switches to her mobile, even though I am playing music. What's weird is that my Spotify is still showing as connected to the Move, but her Spotify, now playing on the Move is not showing any connection or even that a Bluetooth device is connected. She can also adjust the volume on her phone. How can you make the Move to not connect to another device while being connected to another device already? 

I have an issue with my Sonos Ace update.The Sonos app shows "Update Available," but when I tap "Update," it says, "Your Sonos Ace is up to date." This notification loop won't go away.I have already tried extensive troubleshooting, including: * Rebooting all devices (router, phone, Ace). * Reinstalling the Sonos app. * Performing a factory reset on the Sonos Ace.None of these steps have fixed the problem.Is this a known issue, and is there a solution?

Seems recently, within the most recent Sonos app update (80.20.35) I have noticed cutting out on one or more speakers within my system only when streaming Apple Music with a track in Hi_Res or ~Lossless format. Sometimes the speakers bounce from one to the other or cutout intermittently and then temporarily come back. (6 One SL’s, 1 Move, 1 Sub Gen2) All speakers on Wi-Fi - 5GHz (eero mesh)When this cutting out occurs I can see the Wi-Fi radio analytics spike to a ‘congested’ state within my eero mesh system. Streaming any of the other music services I used in the native Sonos app (Amazon music, Sonos Radio, iHeart, Sirius XM, ReListen) do not cause intermittent cut-outs or issues when streaming.When I stream to my Sonos speakers via AirPlay directly from the Apple Music app I do not have the speakers cutting out intermittently when a track is streaming Lossless or Hi_Res.This issue just came up in the most recent app update or perhaps it was the update before last week I noticed the i

I’m a newbie and so apologies if this has been covered- my survey didn’t turn up an answer.  I have a Yamaha RX-A870 (7.2?) with 4 Klipsch wired speakers-  left, right, center and sub.  I have two Sonos 1 speakers and I would like to use them for the rear surrounds.  I also have two sonos connects.  Can someone help me with a set-up?thank you

My Roam has, as it does occasionally, moved locations, so I factory reset it and added it to a different S2 system. Added fine, connected to wifi, all good, but it reports itself as “not registered”. There’s a “Fix It” button, which pretends to do something, but it doesn’t really.This happens using my iPhone, my wife’s iPhone, her Mac and my PC. The Desktop apps refuse to allow any other speakers to be used. The Mobile apps allow basic access to other speakers, but block access to actual music selection (everything is greyed out).Digging into the topology XML I can see that the reason the Roam is quarantined is “upnpovertls”, which is curious. (This translates to UPnP Over TLS).I have reset the apps, ensured I am logged into the correct Sonos account, and still this Roam will not register, it is still quarantined.

When playing music from Apple Music in the Sonos app (not AirPlay), most tracks seem to correctly apply album-based loudness normalization. That’s great! However, if the song is only in Cloud Music Library (i.e. uploaded from my Mac and unavailable to be matched in Apple Music), no normalization is applied, and the song can be wildly louder or quieter, which makes the Apple Music–Sonos integration completely unusable for me, especially if I want to shuffle a playlist of mixed sources, which may have me frantically running for the volume slider between each track.These Cloud Music Library tracks have normalization data (iTunNORM tags) in them, whether scanned by Apple Music when adding to the library, or by a third party app. Apple Music has used iTunNORM tags since it was called iTunes, and it has always worked fairly reliably in Apple Music’s iOS apps (except when Apple randomly introduces AirPlay bugs, which they occasionally deign to fix).
