Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi,I am just checking how best to connect a Sonos Beam 2 to my TV. The TV is pretty new and has an eARC HDMI port on HDMI 3 which I think I need to connect the Beam 2 to. However I also have a Sky Q Minibox which I am planning to connect to the HMDI 1 port on the TV. I want the audio from the TV apps and also SKY Q to come out through the Sonos Beam 2. Whereabouts would I configure this please? In the TV? In the Sonos Beam 2 on the app?Thank you,Sam

Any updates on adding a music library. It goes through the motions and then when I try to play something i get “ No Selections Available.” Any suggestions?

I know that this has been a pretty hot topic when LG rolled out their major update.   Been looking around on different chats and groups and it seems like there is no true fix on this issue.  Unless i use LG’s native apps and forgo my appletv 4k.  Has anyone else find any fixes to this issue?  Thanks. 

I have two Era 100’s, considering adding a mini sub and Beam.Currently the Era’s are to the side of the sofa that faces the TV. I can establish one Era to the left and behind the sofa but unable to place the second Era on the right side of the sofa, thus restricted to the side placement.If I opt for the Beam, my ability to fully utilize the full system for “theatre sound” is pretty much out of the question I assume.  Would there be any benefit at all in getting the Beam and sub to try and use with the Era’sApologies for poorly detailed question! 

Does anyone know how to search for International Radio stations from TUNIN on the Sonos Radio?  I thought it was supposed to have the full catalog.

I am switching to T mobile 5, how do I connect my laptop Sonos system, and or my iPhone 11 to team mobile? I have 2 Sonos 5 speakers. 

I have the latest Android version of the app installed, 80.06.04.I do not find the option to add Music Library. I had it in the past, but option is gone in the new app.I’m puzzled as I see in the release notes that setup of Music Library should be possible since already some versions ago.80.05.06 (Android)80.05.04 (iOS)Release date: 7/22/2024In this update:    Added setup, configuration, and search for local Music Library I just do not find the option to configure it.Any suggestions?  

I have a damaged Sonos Era 300, does anyone know what resistor should be in the place marked in the photo? possibly the parameters of the components in this area, maybe someone has the motherboard? 

Since the release of new software I have been unable to connect to a library of music on a Seagate NAS drive. Sonos support has been on my system at least 5 times. Problem was escalated two months ago with no solution yet. I have a home network with desktop & laptop computers plus 2 smart phones.I decided to use another laptop to install the Sonos app plus a few selected music library folders and bypass the NAS drive for the time being. I installed the Sonos app on this second laptop. I did so and a surprise! That laptop connected to the Seagate NAS wirelessly and the Sonos system with 5 speakers works!Then a second surprise the first laptop and the desktop now connects to the NAS while previously (for months and multiple tech calls) it would not.Perhaps this might help others or Sonos tech support in resolving their problems. 

Hi, my current set up has 2 sonos amps and a sonos port, all plugged into ethernet cables, creating three zones that can all play something different or the same.  I want to be able to play my TV through these zones, but the amps are located in another room.  My question is if i buy a sonos soundbar (wifi), would that create a fourth zone that i could use the source of this new zone (the TV) to synch through the other three zones?  Goal is mostly for football games to have the game play throughout the house/patio.  If there is another way to get TV to play through current set up, i am open to that as well.    

I have an outdoor/patio TV setup. Wondering the best way to arrange this system. Someone suggested the SONOS outdoor speaker set for my patio TV setup paired with a AMP. I was about to purchase and realized I have TWO first Gen/Older AMPS in my closet that I replaced with the newer (gen 2) ones to use in my house. My patio is positioned in a way that WiFi simply isn't possible. I have power out there but you have to walk probably 50 feet past other units to get to my private patio. Theres no outets to run extenders and its much to far. So lets just assume NO wifi.  To watch movies I connect my TV to my wireless hotspot on phone and stream (works great) I live in a very noisy area (city) next to an airport - so its Noisy. I need pretty loud system TV is a pretty basic TCL I got on Amazon (I didn’t want to spend big bucks for something I was leaving outside). Hi I own Beam 2 a pair of Era 100 configured as Surround. If I listen to music from IPad or IPhone or even from Sonos app the music comes out of both the beam 2 and the speakers. If I do the same with my Apple TV 4K I hear the sound come out only from Beam 2 and the surround channels emit almost nothing or very low. While movies have no problems… Why doesn’t the Apple TV make the audio sound like the iPad in Bluetooth? Thanks. Andrea.

Given the recent disasterous software revamp, will Sonos now start to listen more to customers and their feature requests, specifically support for RSTP?  Or will we continue to hear that Sonos doesn’t comment on roadmap?

HiI used to be able to create my own playlists, using some local library items and some Spotify items, for playing while we have people round.Last time I tried, I could not see any mention of playlists in the new app.Can anyone advise what the latest position is in terms of being able to create my own playlists as above?Thanks

Hi,Got a sonos one gen2, alarm starts a radio station at 7am and has ‘no limit’ selected, but at 8am it stops playing. Happens every day.  Tried resetting the alarm, didn’t work.  Any ideas why this is happening or what to try?Thanks

I've spent hours searching q&as on support and community, upgrading, downgrading (or failing to), playing with  s1 and s2 app, web page, factory resets, adding, checking permissions on NAS and yes SMB2 (whatever that is) and am going round in circles, speakers all have permissions ok on router and network drive.I tried to downgrade product to S1 but when I factory reset and then try to downgrade it requires me to set up the network again which then adds the speaker back as it cannot connect to to do the downgrade and then am back to square 1. Is it actually possible to play my own music from a NAS on latest software? Is it possible any other way? And idiots guide needed.Or do I just accept that 5 speakers are not fit for purpose after the so called upgrade and find a new system?  

I was posting on another thread, and the topic came up with regard to 2.4GHz WiFi and possible Microwave interference.  I was curious.I have never tested this before, but came up with a simple stress test experiment, to help me understand impact of ‘Cooking with Sonos’I have an Amp in Kitchen that has a microwave in between the AP and Amp. Amps use 2.4Ghz WiFi, so ideal for a test.I started an Apple Lossless stream 3Mbs to the Kitchen Amp, and grouped 4 other rooms also on 2.4GHz, spread across 2 APs. I could see 3Mb/s down to Amp and backup up to other zones. I then ran a ping to the Kitchen Amp to get a baseline for packet loss: Baseline - Streaming Apple Lossless with group coordinator connected on 2.4GHz WiFi - no music dropouts - no ping packet loss      Packets: Sent = 176, Received = 176, Lost = 0 (0% loss),Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:    Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 3ms I then put a  cold cup of water in microwave for 1 minute on full power 900W -

I have Sonos Arc, Era 100, Sub Gen 3, and I cannot get trueplay to work. It gets stuck on the screen, “Face your tv and hold the device at eye level.” It will not go to the next screen when pressing continue. I have rebooted the system, reset the app, and nothing works. Any suggestions?? 

I have 2 sonos era in the flat and they connect together as one sound system. However since i bought the sonos roam which is mobile, i can connect to it via bluetooth on my phone, but when i try to add it to the network with the other 2 (via the play button on the speaker or via the sonos app) it tells me "impossible to connect, try again later" I reset fully the sonos roam and reinstalled it , it's visible on my sonos app but wont connect to the other 2 systems.…I gave away my portable speaker just to get a sonos roam as it could link to the rest of the flat, but it doesn't work.... i really hope someone can help!!

Hi, I have a JBL 9.1 soundbar with detachable speakers connected to my TV. Now I want to create a multi-room surround sound system in the rest of my home. Can I connect a Sonos Amp with six in-ceiling speakers to my JBL soundbar and play the same music throughout the whole house? Any advice? Thanks. 

Hi @Corry P, I would request an option to have SonosNet disabled when connecting speaker(s) to Ethernet without the need to turn off its WiFi.This way I could avoid STP issues with my router/network and, at the same time, allow a soundbar to connect directly to its surrounds.
