Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

HelloApologies if this is a dumb question. I have an Amp wired directly to 2x Paradigm bookshelf speakers and a separate Sub (gen 3) for music playback. I just bought and added an Era 300 wanting it to play the same streaming, but in my kitchen/ dining area. However, when I stream music through my current set up, nothing comes through the Era. What am I doing wrong?For clarity, the Era is on (I think) and it has connected to my system (set up, ran Trueplay) but shows as separate in the app. Many thanks!Max

Hi there, I’ve got a Sonos arc, sub, amp and 6 ceiling speakers as my Sonos set up. The arc and sub are connected via hdmi to my tv.  The 6 Sonos ceiling speakers are connected in the same wifi network. When I play music via Amazon music or spotify I can get the music to play from the tv (arc and sub) and through the ceiling speakers that I group as kitchen.  What I can’t seem to work out is how I get the sound from them all when I’m watching the tv. When I watch tv it only comes through the arc and sub and nothing through the ceiling speakers. Is there a connection that I should be making when playing sound through my tv to get it through the ceiling speakers as well? Thanks. 

Hi there,When I came back from holiday, my sonos play 5 gen 2 was on with a very faint white light. When I tried to play music or connect to my other speaker it was impossible. I unplugged the speaker and it hasn't turned on since. I can't see the control light. What should I do? Thanks. 

Hi,I'm having real usability issues with Plex. I've tried removing and reauthorizing the account etc multiple times. My use case is that I have multiple Plex sources but can't interchange them. so is keeps defaulting to the my childrens source which is smaller (not sure if that's contributing).  I get the “something went wrong” error when I try to changing it to my main source after 10 or so seconds of thinking about it. Workaround is for me to access music that's hosted in my main source  via the playlists option or using search which is hit and miss - often seems to drop Plex from the list of services to search. Strangely I can access an album via this method but not the whole artist - again not sure if it's a content thing. I've loaded the following diagnostic.**Moderator Note: Diagnostic number removed for privacy*

My ARC is not connecting with TV via HDMI cable

I have recently purchased a Sub Mini in order to connect it to my two Play:1 speakers.Initially it would not even connect to the speakers.After about a day of trying, it eventually connected to the room and the speakers. However there was no sound.The sub was dead.After endless resetting etc it suddenly gave me sound. I got about twenty minutes out of it. The next time I turned the computer on it was dead again, and has been ever since.After extensive research all I can find is the usual “it’s not Sonos, it’s your router” diagnoses/excuses.Well, if my router is as bad as so many seem to suggest it is, how is that it has been running my other Sonos Sub perfectly for over five years without one single problem? How is that Sonos still plays my music perfectly too? How is it that my internet reception/speed is perfect too? How is that SKY multi-room boxes all run fine off this supposedly defective router?Before you ask - no - the sub is not too far away/too near the router, neither is ther

Having read a few of the now closed threads on Arc and Beam power cables, I thought I would just share my experience having applied some of the advice suggested. I have a first generation Beam. It was all good for a long time, but at some point in the past year, the power cable became unplugged. I popped it back, the Beam returned to power, all good. Except it wasn’t. I began to notice intermittent loss of sound and realised the cable was very loose. A quick browse of the forum tonight, and a few people commented that the cable needs a firm shove into the socket to make it fit snugly. I tried, and can confirm that was the problem with my loose cable! So for anyone struggling with a Beam power cable that appears to be plugged in flush but is loose, just push it in more firmly, and it should slide in and become a nice snug fit.Thanks to the tip on the now closed Beam and Arc power cable threads. 

I would love to see this feature and it would be what would make me buy a pair of Sonos Aces to replace my current headphones. Use case: I work from home in the same room with my significant other (SO). We both listen to music on our Sonos speakers all day while working. However, at some point my SO starts taking calls for a while. During this time, she still wants the music playing in the room, but I need to have headphones on to block out the sound of the phone calls. So I put on my headphones, pair to Bluetooth, and have to open a second music streaming service to play music in my headphones while leaving the Sonos system playing music for her. This is annoying on a day to day basis. I would LOVE to be able to just slip on the Aces and pick right up with listening to the same music in the room and not have to get on my phone and start up a second service, etc. Honestly, this is the only use case I can imagine getting the Aces for given I have my Sony MX4s. 

I’ve already contacted SONOS and Denon tech support on this one. It’s odd to say the least.History: I bought a single SONOS Roam 2 to test via bluetooth with my Denon AVR 760H. It worked after I got help from Denon (Did a POWER RESET, and a NETWORK RESET). Bluetooth connected just fine and it sounded nice. It even worked nice with my iPhone. During the setup of the SONOS Roam 2, I was never prompted for a number on the bottom of the speaker.Based on the aforementioned test results, I ordered a second SONOS Roam 2. When I received it, I plugged it in to set it up. During the setup, I was prompted for the number on the bottom of the speaker. This was new to me because the first one didn’t ask. Also during the setup, the speaker did a firmware update. I tested it alone via my iPhone, and it worked perfectly.I plugged the first Roam 2 I bought back in, and it did a firmware update. Hi, anyone else having this problem? Seems to be reoccurring and the answer has been to power cycle (done 2x) and system outage (there isn’t one). I have a new Sonos AMP purchased June 2024, when I change the volume limit (50% for instance) it resets to 100% after a few seconds (you can actually watch the slider just move back up). I typically stream from an iPhone using Spotify, so to test I am playing Sonos radio with no other devices. Same issue. In fact you can slide limit to 10% and it doesn’t change the volume output already coming out of the device that is higher than that level. Cycled the amp, same issue.  This is important as the Amp blew out my last set of house speakers when my spouse accidentally connected her phone with the volume too high. I’d like this set to last a bit longer. All advice welcome!

I have a playbar, boost and sub in my living room. They have always worked, but Ever since the app update my sub won't assign to the living room so I can use it. The playbar is working with music that I play and tv that I watch. When I go to sonos system info, it shows playbay is assigned to living room, boost and sub are unavailable. When I click on living room, then connect sub, it says let's assign your sub to the living room. When I click on the speaker icon below the picture of the sub, my sub will play. 2 things:1. When alarm sounds in morning, My phone screen used to come on with option to turn it off or snooze. Since the May update, it doesn't do this anymore. Is this coming back sometime??2. Alarm music selection used to allow to search our music subscriptions (e.g. YouTube music) and choose music to play... Now it only gives options for sonos radio or sonos favourites... Why??

Play:1 speaker won't group - is visible in Sonos2 app. It'll play as a solo speaker but when trying to group will get “unable to connect - try later” message

what size are the 2 short attachment screws used (in the back) to attach Ray.  I have bracket to attach Ray to portable TV stand.

I have had a Roam for the last couple of years and it has mostly worked well.  I do not like the new app, but I like the Sonos ecosystem and decided to expand the system with an Era 100.  I thought I would be ok as I suspected that the app issues were related to large/complicated Sonos setups and that progress was being made on system stability.But I am now having issues where songs from a Spotify stream just skip after playing for 30 seconds or so.  It is an intermittent problem, but I just had 5 songs in a row skip.  I mostly use the speakers as a group - both playing.Is this worth taking up with Sonos support given the intermittent nature of the issue?  Do you know if Sonos keeps an internal log of song skips and the reasons behind them?Feeling deflated about my new purchase.

As the subject says, most of the time the music library option is missing from my iPhone (and more recently SonoPhone) app, and when I try my Mac Sonos (v16.2) ) app, I can see that it’s forgotten/removed my NAS settings. \\SONOSSERVER\MUSICThis is based on a Synology NAS DS720+ running DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5 Any ideas why this has started happening more and more in recent months? Many thanks in advance Jonathan

I have a SONOS BEAM Gen 1 (I think) and recently brought a new TV. Now I can’t get the beam to connect to the new TV. New TV supports HDMI eARC rather than ARC, but everything Iv read online says that shouldn’t matter. No option to optical connect either. Any ideas or suggestions would be great thank you. 

Cannot hear sound from tv

PLEASE add an option to Shuffle the Songs in Apple Music Library. This exists for Spotify, it exists for our local music library, it should be able to exist for Apple Music. Here are the “workarounds” and why they are bad:“Just shuffle play in the Apple Music app and airplay to your sonos!” - Then we miss out on Lossless quality, which is reduced over airplay. Plus it’s much better to keep things within the Sonos ecosystem and limit the number of different apps we need to do simple things. “Just start playing any song in your library, and then enable shuffle” - This does not work. The queue will be empty. “Just use the My Station feature in Apple Music” - this is not the same as shuffling an entire library. It’s just some playlist that an algorithm creates, so you can hear familiar songs over and over.

I had a previous problem with this and some renaming and file sharing settings took care of it. It has popped up again and the previous suggestions don’t seem to be appropriate.  Any ideas? Hold time on the support line is 60+ minutes.

We often use our move as a bluetooth speaker.When we want to pair it, it is often not detected by the device we want to pair it with.If it is on, it randomly wants to connect/ pair, and if something else is playing on another bluetooth speaker, it switches to the move without us wanting to.What is the issue here? What can I do to fix the issue?Thanks a lot!

I have recently Bought an Arc, two Era 300 and a sub mini which I use as a home theatre system.  My system keeps disconnecting from the app and I have to turn them all off at the power and then reconnect them all to the app and then pair them. This is becoming exceptionally frustrating and not what I expected from Sonos products.  Any help or troubleshooting would be really appreciated.
