Why remote went work on been further than 3feet!

Best answer by Jcarron1

The beam was directly in front of the tv.  I moved it to the shelf below and works fine.  Weird.

With what Sonos device? If it’s an ARC related device, the Sonos is getting the remote commands from the TV, the only time the Sonos device would get anything from the remote is if the Sonos device were connected to your TV via optical, and you’d have changed the remote from RF to IR in the TV’s settings.

Have you tried changing the batteries upon the remote?

I’m not sure that can be considered a Sonos issue? Surely it’s a tv/remote controller problem.

Most have been light from the tv affecting the signal?

Ah, you didn’t say things changed after you installed the Arc. Maybe it was blocking the signal to the tv?

I wouldn’t think a Samsung Q90 used an IR signal (with potential blocking issues) unless it was told in the TV’s OS to do so. But then I don’t have one.

There are several potential ‘issues’ which all depend on the method used for connection to the Sonos, and the Sonos device in use.
