Hi all,

brand new convert to Sonos speakers and very very happy with the sound and build quality of them.

Couple of issues though, one being the Alexa volume, which i ended up disabling and sticking to our old echo dot.

Second was the incredible faff getting them

set up as a pair ! After much googling i discovered that my BT hub was the problem? And switching off 5ghz solved it and they are now happily paired. Question is can i switch 5ghz back in without causing issues?

Hi @Markybug

I’m glad to hear that you’re happy with your Era 100 and I hope you continue to enjoy the speaker and any additional speakers you get.

Currently we’re aware of an issue which makes Alexa response volume louder than expected. Our team is investigating the issue but do not currently have an ETA on when it will be fixed. For now, I’d suggest using Sonos Voice Control (SVC) if you’d like to use a voice service on the speaker itself or to keep using your Echo Dot as you currently are.

For the BT Smart Hub 2, you should be fine to turn 5Ghz back on since your Era 100 is set up and working. I have this router myself and would recommend using a third-party router over it whenever possible just because of the lack of settings you can adjust on the router. My advice would have be to split the bands, but the BT Smart Hub 2 doesn’t allow that, so try with the 5Ghz turned back on first to see if you have any issues: you can always turn 5Ghz back off on the router.

I hope this information helps!

Thank you 👍🏼
