HDMI ARC unavailable on LG Web OS TV

Morning,

I’ve taken delivery of a Sonos Arc soundbar to upgrade my Beam (Gen1).  Using the existing cabling (also tried the new cabling in the box) when setting up the Arc everything goes to plan until I get to setting up with the TV (LG Web OS UK6950PLB).  The app advises that no HDMI-ARC is available, but am getting a signal on HDMI 2 from the arc.  I’ve tried restarting the app along with the tv and ARC.  The Beam works fine through my LG on the HDMI port so know this is fine.

I’ve also defaulted both the ARC and TV with no success.  Has anyone else had this issue or suggestions on how to resolve?

Hello @mward77, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am sorry to hear about your experience setting up your new Sonos Arc.

I found the manual of the LG TV UK6950PLB and it doesn’t show which number of the HDMI ports is the eARC one, but there should be an indicator on the exact port, look at the screenshot at the end of my reply.

A couple things you can check:

  • Make sure on your TV, the setting SIMPLINK is on.
  • Reboot your TV by unplugging the power cable → wait a few minutes → plug it back in.

Here is our Support Article to Set up your Sonos Arc.

If you are still having trouble setting it up, feel free to reach out to our Support Team, as they can guide you through the setup and assist you on any issues that might appear.

I hope this helps.
