Hi, the new Sonos app is incredibly clunky and borderline impossible to use. It's frustrating that you can't add songs to a queue in the same way as before nor will it allow me to select local radio stations. I live in Australia and was able to use I heart radio prior to this update, now it will only let me select radio stations from the US. I love the audio quality, but the app to tie it together is horrendous. Please can this be fixed!
Does anyone know when the next Sonos App update will take place?
I’m flabbergasted that the v80 app was foisted on the world as a less-than-beta product. Beyond being unable to search my music library and add music to the queue (arguably the main functionality of any Sonos system?!?), the absolute basics aren’t working for me.Playing music: Any time I try to group any number of speakers something fails. I’m talking two rooms. Two. One will mmmmmaybe work for a little while, then the other one will come in but the first one will cut out, then who knows? God forbid I try to group four or five rooms, no chance. Please fix this first. If I can’t control multiple rooms with the app I might as well use a bluetooth speaker or maybe a good old cassette boom box. The volume sliders: I’m not even sure how to describe this. You change the volume, then it snaps back to the original volume but then slides itself forward – some – then jerks around a bit. Meanwhile, on my speakers, some room’s volumes change a little, but certainly not what I asked them to change
What is happening with the dev team of Sonos? This new app (ios) is a *nightmare. Please take it back and offer it as an alternative ( if needed at all).If it ain't broken, don’bloody fix it!!*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
Having installed the new update with new features came across some issue such volume slider unable to see numbers cannot tell if volume is 30% more or less i hope they do fix this one soon.
Why have I lost my gold Sonos app and it’s not now in App Store only the black Sonos app which is not as good plus all my stored music compilations have gone
Using the output selector at the bottom of the phone app I can turn on and off each of the room speakers as well as adjust the volume. WHY can’t I add the mini-sub to the output selector? I live in a townhouse and have the sub turned off most of the time out of respect for my neighbours. But turning the sub on is a long process requiring many steps. It would be SO easy to turn the sub on or off from the output selector rather than to go searching into the room and then tap and scroll to find the EQ, then the sub… you know what I mean. It's a long way to go to get to the on/off button. I understand that the sub is connected to the “ROOM” but regardless the sub should be able to be adjusted on the output selector.
We have an entire Sonos throughout home eco system consisting of multiple sound bars, play 5’s, surrounds, subs, move etc. I can no longer “play everywhere” or play music on multiple devices. After the latest update all my devices except the stereo pair on my deck are gone from the app and I can’t add them back, they “can’t be found.” This absolutely ridiculous.
Hello! I have al SONOS SUB gen 2 which is elgeible for the Sonos Upgrade Program. The problem is that this Sonos Sub is not working properly and won´t turn on, this way, I can´t see it when I log in to try and put it in the Upgrade Program.Does this mean I can´t get the discount for the new one if the old one doesn´t work?I haven´t found precise answer to this, so if someone knows for sure and can tell me that’d be great. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads!
Generally I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I'm at a loss. There has to be some reason Sonos released this half baked app. What aren't they telling us? I’d like to hear your theory's real or not. The wilder the better.
So Disappointed, New Sonos updated, May/2024 Alarm is Gone, I was using Sonos alarm as the wake up call everyday, but not only that, It was so nice and helpful to come home from work and music still running just because I left my Sonos alarm to play music all day. Please my suggestion for anybody reading this messages, if you use Sonos alarm, as a wake call or to play music while out of the house, Do Not update it, to the new Sonos until Sonos Fix this problem! Please any suggestions?
So just got back from a 3 week overseas trip and the app has automatically updated.I’m sure after using it for a bit it will become easier to use, but a few things to note just from brief use.Why the balloon look? It reminds me a lot of when iTunes changed dramatically around 15 years ago and everyone hated it and it was updated within a few months. Why does the search bubble have to be so big? Between that and the now playing bubble at the bottom it takes up 1/3 of the screen! Why can’t they just have the search icon in the banner at the top that you click on and it opens the search bubble? It would be great to be able to customise the look: i.e change to lists or adjust the size of the icon. What has happened to the “line in” option for the play 5? I cant find it anywhere.Whilst l can see why they want to update to keep up with the times, I just really don’t like the look aesthetically of the new app!
I have been trying to contact Sonus costumer support by phone for a week already with wait times longer than 2 hours with no answer. I tried getting support from the chat and they were not able to help me, they recommended that I should contact them by phone but with no answer for days and hours spent already.can anyone help me finding a better way to get assistance in helping my Sonos port workin? thank you.
I see that Sonos updated their terms of use, license and warranty agreement in June 2024. Sonos is requiring me to agree to to the updated terms to access the Sonos app. What are the changes to these documents? It would be helpful to know what changes Sonos is asking me to agree to.
HelloA lot of people are disappointed that the Sonos Ace headset is not WiFi capable to allow full integration into the Sonos ecosystem. Well, there is a very good reason as to why they aren’t. Below are links to two (2) very well-respected platforms that tell the story as to why the Ace headset does not incorporate WiFi. The first source (Reddit) gives their own plausible explanation while the second (The Verge) seemly has had an actual conversation with Sonos which can be captured at the time interval indicated. After reading/listening to the explanations you should have no cause to continue to berate Sonos for not making the Ace Headset fully compatible with its ecosystem. Your only decision should be if you do or do not want to buy them. If you want to factor in the S2 App situation that’s your decision as well. That’s it...plain and simple. However, some of you are like a dog with a bone and refuse to let go. Almost to the point IMO you seem to relish in the fact that there is an is
Does anyone remember the days when these forums were predominantly used to ask for help? I’m going to risk asking the un-askable question. I do appreciate there are many issues in the latest app version. Many questions about it have been asked and some workarounds have been put forward since it was thrust upon us several weeks ago. But, the number of threads being raised that repeat the same complaints means that genuine seekers of assistance are being lost in the flood of new threads. I also appreciate that raising more threads is seen as a way of bringing to Sonos’ at the dissatisfaction that many of us are feeling. Sonos has (in response to user pressure?) taken the unprecedented step of issuing a roadmap for some app enhancements. So: that question I promised:Is it time to dial back on the complaints and revert to “please help me…” threads?
Corporate greed and incompetence as glaringly exposed by the release of the new botched app, and the callous insensitive response to the complaints it generated has to be vigorously deal with.PATRICK SPENCE MUST BE IMMEDIATELY FIRED!!!
I use the Sonos app to operate my Sonos amp in our retail store. It is important to be able to adjust the volume as each song seems to play with different intensities. The new app makes it very difficult to adjust the volume and it doesn’t display the volume percentage anymore. I used to tell my employees to leave the volume at a specific percentage, now this is not possible.
It doesn’t take a lot to notice something is amiss with the internal workings of Sonos as a company. After this recent release of the updated app, everyone from casual users to long time dealers are questioning the direction of the company. Are they struggling to meet unrealistic internal benchmarks or is the company on the verge of being sold and the staff are trying to justify their jobs?I’m a long time user of Sonos and I work for a Sonos dealer. We install products into ultra high end homes where the average AV budget is between $50K - $400K. The product is by far the best multi-room audio system the market has to offer. We’ve installed countless systems over the past 10 years and have been a loyal supporter of the Sonos brand. No one else has been able to compete. BUT, things are changing.First of all, the market is saturated. A big portion of the population that were interested in the Sonos concept have already bought in. They built their homes, we installed their Sonos products
Warning, there’s a new firmware update available 16.2 or maybe it’s 80.00.xx If you don’t have auto updates turned off now would be the time if you don’t want to risk it, especially if you are still on 16.1 If you update please let us know the good/bad.
You have taken a beautiful, intuitive, FUNCTIONAL App, and turned it into a clunky, difficult-to-navigate, NON-FUNCTIONAL App. Why in the (&75k would you do such a STUPID thing???!!!! I HATE using my SONOS system now. I LOVED it for years. Fix this damned App, or convert us all back to the former App. At least it worked!!!
This may just be a plea to Sonos, but the new app has its frustrations. I would just like there to be a numeric metric pop up when adjusting volume on the speakers. It seems for me that it is only available when two speakers are playing as it opens the both up and I see the volume metric on each. However when it is a singular speak I do not see the volume number metric. It would be very nice to always see the numeric volume metric as it helps to know for dialing sound easily.
Insane that they are releasing new products in this disaster. How are they continuing to defend this app? Is anyone actually working for this company or have they all been replaced with AI? The CEO actually said this app is faster and more responsive… it takes me a full minute to see anything on the app every time I open it. I can literally walk around the room and show multiple people that it says it’s not playing any music while music is playing. Can someone who thinks this app is functional post a live feed where they control their system using this app? And not using Sonos Radio, the garbage service a supposedly “premium” company is trying to upsell its customers on by ruining all other functionality on their extremely expensive equipment? No one wants your stupid headphones when they can’t even pause their music immediately. I pressed pause in the app when I started to write this post and the music still hasn’t paused.
When they called the ACE their most requested item ever, they didn’t mean what they wanted us to think they meant. They must’ve known that we really wanted the ability to move seamlessly between zones, for the headphones to function as their own zone. Heck, I wish they could get my car to function as a zone. But it doesn’t matter why they couldn’t have delivered on this, wifi limitations while technically interesting and still useful to know about, are beside the point. The point is they shouldn’t have pretended they were delivering on something they knew we would want. If you follow the thinking it gets ugly: either they didn’t know what we wanted, or they knew, and somewhere up the chain someone committed to trickery of marketing that was either a flagrant money-play, or it presumed that we were dumber than we are. I’m not sure which is worse, and I don’t like being negative. In fact I ignored negative noise enough to remain oblivious to these limitations until unboxing my headphones
Can someone from SONOS please provide an update? I have 10 SONOS speakers which I love but are inoperable currently. I have no access to libraries, Amazon and Apple play sometimes and the list goes on with issues. Basically, I can’t use. I have no access to my libraries on my MAC as well. I honestly believe this was a rush to market with no usability testing or any testing. As I mentioned last night, I am very disappointed. Everyone on this forum has invested lots of money on top quality speakers. It is very disconcerting that the new app does not live up to SONOS reputation.
