Why do I not get the option where I want to play the music I just selected any more? I would understand if your app controlled one speaker, but I have THIRTEEN SPEAKERS!!! In the old app (before you royally messed it up), when I selected music, the next step - before it began playing - was to ask me WHERE I wanted to play it. Since you put out this (AWFUL) new app version, I have blasted music in rooms that I had not intended to play music. What’s more, I cannot figure out how (in this brave new sonos world) how to play the current music on a speaker that was previously playing something else.
I would like someone to tell me why you decided on such a drastic change, implementing changes no one could have possibly asked for. Case in point: I have almost 500GB of music - MY MUSIC - that I have purchased over the past 45 years. It lives in a media library that I can no longer access via sonos. WHY??? Just tell me that - what was your rationale? You made your product worse. What’s more, my purchase of your product (remember, THIRTEEN SPEAKERS) was an investment, and now they are worthless to me. I do not want to stream music via internet services, I want to listen to my music. That’s why I have it, and why I bought sonos in the first place. I feel betrayed by this company I have held in high esteem. And I’d like someone to tell me why you did it, and why you don’t care about customer satisfaction anymore.

I concur. Furthermore no one at Sonos is taking responsibility. They seem to have dismissed an entire user base. At the very least I expect a mia culpa moment where the admit their folly and publish a rollback to the previous working version. I have llost so much respect for the company and the product. I too am stuck with a vast library of digitized music that I cannot access. Nor can I access my streaming services. The new app was dead on arrival when installed.
Meanwhile, crickets from Sonos.
We must demand a rollback.
There‘s two reasons why you would not be able see your library. Either it’s the new app and you could try to re-ad the library on a PC or Mac, or you have an older NAS still using SMBv1 that Sonos has stopped support for. Have you looked in to this?
106rallye, you're missing the point. The ability to use a library at all is gone. The feature does not exist anymore in the app. You cannot re-add the library because the capability to add a library at all does not exist. Plus, what if someone does not have a PC or Mac (shocker, i know, but they are out there). In fact, I introduced my parents to Sonos because they COULD use it from their phone, without needing a computer. But to answer your question, no, it's not an older NAS. My music library runs in openmediavault on a headless Pi.
This is the problem, and this is only a third of why customers are so upset.
The second third is, to now listen to the music we want to listen to, we have to pay for a streaming service! And before you start in on all the "free" services there are out there, I don't want to listen to a "channel" where I cannot select the music I want. For instance, in my library I have Billboard's top 100 for every year from 1950 - 2010. There is no free streaming service where I can listen to a year of top hits for free. So now I have to subscribe to a service and pay money to use something I already own.
The final third goes to what wgvibe mentions: SONOS AS A COMPANY DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE that their customers are more than a little displeased with the latest upgrade and change that has REMOVED features from the app! I have turned off automatic updates on my app because I don't trust Sonos to release "friendly" code, so some sort of notification about when they are going to fix this would be nice. But all we get are crickets.
I have said this before, and I'll say it again here. I bought Sonos - on the advice of Crutchfield - to be able to play the music from my music library. I have invested heavily in the system, and now the system does not work because Sonos has removed this capability.

If you search here, you will see that the library setup/search features are coming to the new App, meanwhile users have used the older Sonos desktop controller App to add their library to Sonos and are then able to see it via the new mobile App, but note that the new App no longer supports ‘SMB v1’, or ‘http’, shared libraries as they are considered a security risk. In my case I use an SMB v2.0 --> 3.0 shared local library and that already shows in the new App (see ‘merged’ screenshot attached).
Sonos did publicise these changes by the way, even before the first release of the new Sonos App - including notifications in their S2 App - see other screenshot attached. They also sent out emails and it was quite widely discussed in this online community too.
I understand the reference, have no issue with the desktop app comment. My issue has been that the mobile app had a capability that Sonos removed, and they don't seem to care.
I know there are alternatives, like using a PC or buying SonoPhone. I know I can do that. But that's not the point. I don't think it's too much to ask for Sonos to make the S2 app available again for those of us who liked it the way it was.

My own understanding has been that the new Sonos App was released early, with some features missing and that Sonos plan to add features back to it in the coming weeks/months, including the library setup/indexing/search facility too, but it’s not going to include the security vulnerabilities of SMBv1/http as described in this link:
If you can’t wait for it to be included in the App, then you need to use the Desktop controller App to setup a shared library instead - the steps to setup an SMBv2 share are outlined (with screenshots) in this thread:
I appreciate your input, but as I said before, SMB is not the issue. The issue is there is no way to add/view the music library in the android app. Even if you add/manage a music library in the desktop app, it is not visible in the new android app. And my PC is not on the same network as Sonos, so it doesn't help as a long-term solution. Again, the point was never about the desktop app, the point I made was the removal of features in the new version of the mobile app.
To put the SMB matter to rest though, Samba doesn't use SMBv1, and I have not used SMBv1 since 2017 (remember WannaCry?)
HOWEVER - this issue is moot, as I have rolled back the apk to Sonos S2 (v16.1), and can control my music again.

I’m still not quite sure what you mean, as I have an Android tablet with the new Sonos App installed and that sees my locally held/shared music library. See attached screen-capture taken a few minutes ago.

Funny how removing the new buggy af app from
the equation solves the problem. They really should sticky to the community to roll back if on Android or use SonoPhone if on iOS while they fix the bugs and add missing features back.
No idea - maybe it's a country/region thing, because my (US) Android app - latest version - looks nothing like yours. Different icons, options, display, etc. And there is no place for music library. The only things on the home screen are
