Did you know there is an email to the CEO’s office at Sonos? Who knows if the CEO actually reads these, but here is the address and the email I sent today: ceo@sonos.com. Hello,After 15+ years of Sonos devices in my home, as of today they have all been removed and replaced with competitor's solutions. Why?While the hardware is fantastic, and remains so, the decision to update the app in May was a complete disaster. Many people are concerned with missing features after that update, but I'm just talking basic functionality making the system unusable. These issues did not exist before the May update:When I open the app it normally takes 5 to 30 seconds for the app to connect to my system and sometimes does not connect at all Sometimes the app only partially connects to my system (I can see streaming services, but can’t press any function buttons like play) When the app does finally connect, it is slow/sluggish Volume changes are slow or don’t respond Turning on and off different sp
I have seen so many different ways people are attempting to get their karaoke machine to work with Sonos and the main drawback seems to be the delay. I have 3 questions. Is it the delay of you speaking and it coming out of the speakers that is frustrating? Can you mix the music and voice and then output it into a port to play it via Airplay2 to avoid the delay? Is there a setting to compensate for the delay?
If I leave Sonos ON after watching a movie at 3am a loudly noise start and need to rush to STOP sonos
Got this “Unable to load content” for Sonos Favorites. Amazon Music also refuses to load. Works on Windows PC app.
I was on the phone for 3 hours trying to resolve my problem with sonos. It was raised to a level 2 and was promised a reply within 24 hours. 4 days later no reply. Typical Sonos and regard for customers.
In the old app, when you pulled up a list, for instance the “music library by artist” list, on the right side the letters of the alphabet appeared and you could use that to jump to an artist by first letter. That functionality appears to be gone in the new app and now I have to scroll through hundreds of artists to play something toward the bottom. Good luck every playing ZZ Top again. Am I missing something? Can that be turned on?
I want to upgrade but it’s only giving me a 15% , but I actually have 3 eligible products , am I doing something wrong ?
I have a Play 1,3,5 and just changed my modem. None of my devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone 11) will reconnect. I want to connect to new modem. Tried “factory reset” but did not work. This must be a common problem. Anyone out there who has solved it ?
It’s my understanding that Sonos staff ‘moderates’ this forum. Hopefully that also means what we say here will likely reach the attention of Sonos management and technical personnel. With that in mind, I have one straightforward request, conveyed on behalf of myself and other Sonos users who do not wish to be swept up in the ongoing development of the ‘new’ Sonos controller app: tell us when you’re done. The app has been a work in progress since early May. The latest information Sonos has provided indicates that a number of basic functions will not be in place until September or October. Among these are restoring easy access to our pre-existing Sonos playlists, including the ability to retrieve and play them; along with the ability to create and save new Sonos playlists, and to subsequently edit and resave those Sonos playlists.I have stopped downloading the ‘updates’ Sonos has been releasing every so often — because none of them seems to address Sonos playlists, which is the most impor
Hi,I have to buy a new harddrive for the music library - my portable Samsung are to old :) for SMB3.But - the external drives I found have no specifications for the end-to-end.I have talked to a couple of suppliers and they have no more information - and have no knowledge about what harddrive do recommend. So are there any friendly soul here who knows?I just need 1 TB and I have Windows 11 and the connection in the router is a “classic” USB.🙏Pia
I’m not sure if I'm in the correct place but I was asked to go here to report I’d like to Opt Out of Beta test this time. Hope you pick up.
Instead of having expensive ads showing how easy it is to use their products, they should spend their money on making their products work. If anyone has buyer remorse, it is me.
We own 3 homes, used same Sonos login for all 3. First home is the oldest. What does new owner have to do. He mentioned something about transferring account? Do I have to be physically at this account to do this? How do I know what is still supported?
Sonos has been draining my battery. It’s been doing something in the background with background app refresh off.23h 36m in the last 24.This can’t be right and must be resolved!
I have 1 Play 5, 2 Ones, 1 Beam and using Controller 16.3 on OS S2. I also have a large house and need to upgrade to a mesh WIFI system for the house. A friend has recommended either Eero 6 Plus or Google Nest Wifi Pro.I notice there seem to be all sorts of problems in connecting SONOS to mesh systems. Before I purchase, can anyone please give me real world experience with these.Looking for advice on the above ...or other option. (Australia)
This last update is terrible. The app on Android is very slow, takes ages to connect. The previous version was much faster. I understand why some may think it’s a good thing to disable the support for SMB1. But in a home environment, security isn’t an issue! Why not having a flag which enables/disables SMB1 with a security warning for the user? do decide? I have a perfectly working NAS environment which supports SMB1 only, and I have many applications interacting with it. So for me, changing to another NAS would be a huge undertaking. Is there a workaround to activate SMB1 again?
It seems hard to believe, but that seems to be the unanimous “rumor” here. I am hoping it’s just because the implementation in the new app immature, and that maybe some time in the future this will work again. But, could Sonos comment? Is the support for playing from a music library going away?
Been sitting here for 45 minutes. My music feed dropped twice and there’s been 10 to 15 minute periods where I can’t seem to get anything to play. Sonos really needs to hire a software engineer, any engineer… a train engineer could make it work better than whoever’s in charge now! Oooor… call me crazy… just go back to the last version. It wasn’t perfect but I’ll take “not perfect” over this *!*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
I’ve had an incredibly frustrating couple of weeks with speakers suddenly dropping and not reconnecting after trying all troubleshooting and multiple customer service calls. Here’s what I figured out with my Telus internet provider: Admin settings were changed to turn off smartstream which has both 2.4 and 5G. Once two separate wifi networks were created for each band, my speakers connected and showed up using 2.4g only.. even though other things run without a problem on 5G in my home. Confirmed I have 4 Sonos ONE GEN 2 and ARC all of which should work on 5G. After I reconnected all my speakers for the first time without problems in weeks, I renamed the rooms and the system disappeared. This happened two times. I had to unplug all Sonos speakers, start a new system, factory reset and add each speaker one by one on the 2.4g only network. I didn’t rename them, and so far they’ve been connected since last night. Seems that there needs to be a fix for this.
I’ll think most of the time is hard to find up to date-information about the new app and what’s going on. Is it possible to have a completely different page on when you browse in to Sonos that will get you current known issues and bugs (and of course all important thing we users need to know ? I’ll think it will lift the burden off for both Sonos staff and stressed users. Hopefully it will also end a lot of speculations, rumors aso. Im sure that kind of a page would be greatly appreciated. Now when you step in to the community you get overwhelmed because of the large amount of both up-to date and closed issues. Finally, at my job we live by the motto “if you have nothing to report, report it”
I have owned my system for about 7 years and with only a few exceptions, it has worked and sounded great. The newest update has and continues to cause me issues. It is slow to react to simple actions such as pause, play, change rooms, load new playlists to be played, not working on concert with the computer app to name just a few. Bottom line… it does not work well and there is no excuse for Sonos to have released this update without thorough testing (which I would only assume they thought they did). I am not extremely technical and quite old school. I have not read through the myriad of comments that I can only assume are out there on this same topic but am hoping that Sonos can get their act together and make it as good as it was before. Also, relating to the email from the CEO, my system overall is great (except as outlined above) and I expect that is will last a very long time. Kind of like my Advent speakers and Macintosh amp which I bought around 1968 and, if maintained) wi
I had a support call almost three weeks ago, I have been dealing with the same problems for months, the community is no longer responsive to questions and issues, and now escalated support is completely flaking out. I had a call scheduled for this morning to follow up and hopefully finally resolve but no one called. There is a 30 minute estimated hold time on a call and I am number 12 in support chat. I am tired of spending hours and hours trying to fix issues with your app that have always plagued my Sonos experience. Your system sucks, and now your support sucks too!
I’ve owned Sonus product since they first came out and I updated to the new versions when the updates are offered. I’m familiar with most of the idiosyncrasies the systems and how to resolve various problems. With the new application I started experiencing speaker dropouts random issues with playback and general instability. =—->My Sonos configuration is as follows. Two Sonos play 1s, Two Sonos ERA 300s with a Sonos subwoofer, Two Sonos play 5s, Two Sonos ports one to a Yamaha sound bar and one to a Yamaha receiver, and One Sonos sound bar. —— I’ve been operating all of these with the previous version of the Sonos application without any problems. When I updated the new application today and I had the following problems.———> Random changes to the volume sliders without my touching them. Random selections of speakers or ports sets without my touching them. Random switching of selected speakers or ports; I would select the sound bar and it would go to the ERA 300s. I would set the
Hi,Does anyone know how long it takes for Sonos to provide a shipping label for a return on the money back guarantee?I received an email over a week ago with an RO number, and this said I’d receive an email separately with a shipping label. I’ve called Sonos a few times, and every time I get the same “We’ll speak to the returns department and get them to send it out and you should receive it shortly” message, but I never do.Does anyone know how long this normally takes, or who I can speak to get this sorted? Thanks
Sonos has totally screwed their customers. My whole system disappeared today. I have a professional AV guy I pay here trying to get everything back and even he can’t figure it out. He can see my whole system on a windows pc, but on the app all of my system is gone and won’t reconnect.Enough is enough! It’s time for this community of aggrieved customers to band together and sue Sonos for negligence and not delivering the experience we all paid for.Literally a day after the CEO sent that note all has gotten immensely worse. What kind of updates are they sending out? They are blowing up their product like I’ve never seen before!!!!!!
