I’ve been racking my brain trying to understand why any company would push an update as bad as this one.  It’s easy to blame the product & dev teams or lousy management but this team has been around and can’t be that dumb.  They knew what was coming and did it anyway.So if you were running this company what would make you piss off millions of customers to this extent?  The only thing I can think of is a contractual obligation.If they had signed a deal with some third party to share customer data and had to rearchitect the app since the old app probably didn’t log everything we did, and you had a deadline or the deal went away, then you would do something this bad to your customers.My guess, totally speculative, is that they offered the customer data to some third party about a year earlier, it was for a lot of money (this could be really valuable in this new world of AI where every piece of training data can give one vendor a leg up) and the

Iissues with this build… Can’t use multiple speakers.  After installing a second speaker, the queue disappears and the app skips around what was in the queue after a few bars of each song. Rebuilt the system from scratch and with a single speaker, the queue limits the playlist to 100 tracks.  I have an Amazon playlist with around 490 tracks. Using the chat app was a dismal failure.  Couldn’t get a straight answer to the track limitation and was arbitrarily cut off.

Sonos why after so many years of issues we are back to the same problems from the beginning of your existence. Player shuts off randomly for no reason, volume doesn’t work on the app in all rooms or show up will just disappear. can I just get up and turn on your system anymore and play music you have to go through a song and dance and a bunch of bulls*** in order to play music out of these players. it’s just wrong. Your new engineers that have taken over since she went public are horrible.and should be fired. You should roll back your app to where it worked for all humans and not frustrate them. As I am sure everyone agrees the new Sonos app is absolutely terrible.  I have owned and used the Sonos system for over 20 years.  I even kept  my giant wheel controller that came with the original system when it launched for nostalgic reason.  I was a super fan.  Today I have over 25K invested in my system but find myself now searched for “alternative systems to Sonos” as it is virtually unbearable to use.  The latency in volume control is ridiculous.  The lack of responsiveness to add or remove zones is beyond frustrating.  Worst of all, almost all the functionality has been stripped out and there appears to be no way to play different music in any other zones without cancelling the current music as there is only one menu??    Sadly, I feel like I have reached the point where I will just sell the system for cents on the dollar and move to a new audio set up altogether.  Thoughts?  Has anyone else figured out the app and/or considered alternative systems?

I have 18 speakers in my house…A play One will not connect to my system anymore…Lost a hour with customer support trying to get it to work… for my trouble they offered me a 30% discount on a new speaker. My question is why would I spend hundreds of dollars on a speaker that you would only warranty for a year? And you can’t fix…Obviously there is a flaw in the connection part of the speaker. Because they do not offer this speaker anymore…I answered my own question. I would not buy another Sonos product again. If you can’t stand by your product, I will not…

I purchased an Arc, I got it set up. If you have no interest in making use of the Arc to its fullest extent, and just to turn on the TV then it is fine. Otherwise, I have been testing this out for hours.  I am about to pack it all back up and return it tomorrow. The app is horrible. Listen to pandora, and it stops and or freezes. Use Sonos music or radio the same thing happens, useless. Try to use pandora on a device then send it to the arc is also a pain. It’s going back, and I am going back to Bose.

Hi everybody, this is not a question, just a comment. I read everywhere that the new app is a catastrophe, that Sonos was going to return to the previous version and now that it cannot do so. I want to say that in the beginning this app had serious problems, particularly no alarms. But now it is fine, once you know how it works. I am fully satisfied with it, and don't understand the fuss.

Good, and hopefully not temporary, news: today setting an alarm with music from an Amazon station---WORKED. I haven’t tried Apple yet. The alarm was set yesterday and triggered successfully this morning. The station referenced above is “Ultimate Classical”.” This app is so schizophrenic I wouldn’t be surprised if another Amazon station might fail the test. 

After waiting now over two months for Sonos to solve the app problems there is a solution!Try the Sonophone app from apple. It’s great. Not all features of the Sonos app but it works!  No lagging on volume and track inputs. No speakers turning on and off randomly. The frustration of the new Sonos app is gone.  Enjoy

Is this system gonna be fixed soon? As of now absolutely horrible. Last app worked just fine. Decided to do my whole house in Sonos about 15k in speakers ,sub and amps. Nothing but problems last 6 to 8 months. gonna trash it all !! Can’t take it no more! Love music it’s always on in my house. Never works.  Ive been very patient!! Please help soon!!   

Patrick you company sucks when is enough enough

 Dear Mr SpenceI’ve been a grateful customer of Sonos for years. I stumped up a lot of money at the time in 2013 for a speaker and bought one of the early Play 1 devices to try this out, somewhat skeptical. The experience was great and over the course of several years have managed to add to my Sonos collection which now includes 2 more Play 1’s, Roam, and most recently an Arc Soundbar. Over the course of the last several years, I have discarded other items in favor of the utility of the Sonos system - this included my bedside alarm clock that survived years thanks to its unique feature of offering 3 separate alarms. Placing a Play 1 in my bedroom and accessing local radio stations was great and we used to wake up to this most mornings. My prior investment in stereo equipment was replaced by easy access to my music and an easy-to-use interface that was simple and functional. I could select speakers, select music and music filled my house.

Afternoon all,I remember a while back, Sonos stopped producing release notes for S1 updates. From memory, at that time, Sonos committed to no feature changes in any future updates and only required updates to keep services working?Fast forward a couple of years and I wanted to ask if there is currently any way to find out what changes are included in any S1 pending/new updates before actually applying that update to the product?  Thanks

Hi,I have 21 registered Sonos devices. I want to buy almost the same amount as we’re shifting to a new house. Sonos used to show and touts offers as part of upgrade program. I was heartbroken to see ZERO on my account. Customer Service isn’t helpful.Specially with respect to the new debacle of an app. Please help!

When using the app on either android or IOS, I am unable to adjust volume consistently,if it’s lowered, the system puts it back to original setting. Or it will drop a sonos speaker once it was originally connected. Why is this happening?  I am very disappointed with the new app. The basic functionality is not consistent. 

The Sonos App is currently a disgrace, its frustrating to use and its response is virtually non existent. I have no idea what you did but you’ve made the Apps functionality impotent. I will not be purchasing another Sonos product until such time that this is address. Very poor considering the price of your products. 

I just read that Sonos will not re-issue the old app (S2) because this would make thinks worse.That is a terrible lie.A few days after the may 7 disaster, I found on a forum that some people solved their problem by reinstalling the old app from a alternative app store. And that worked fine for me for two months until beginning of august when I was forced to upgrade the app (the old app refused to launch and said I had to upgrade).But I have another old device that can not receive updates and that on is perfectly working with the old S2 app.My question are : why, after all this, Sonos is lying ?Why do they hate their customers at this level ?How do they want their customers to trust them is they don’t trust their customers ?Why don’t they let us choose if the old S2 is worse or not ?Why are the people accountable for this disaster still in charge ?Is there anyone sensible in this company or are t

Isnt it time the CEO stepped down? 

My system has become essentially useless.  Over the past 6 months or so I get nothing but errors on most of what I try.  My surround is no longer working, I can't stream Apple music anymore and Trueplay errors out.  I know the CEO sent a note apologizing for their app.  Is anything going to change, new app version that works?  At this point I am too frustrated to keep fighting with it.  Nothing but non descript errors.  I have thousands invested in Sonos equipment and was once a strong advocate.  Now I am thinking about replacing it all.  

I purchased a Sonos Sonance outdoor speaker in April 2024.  The speaker was installed in June 2024, shortly thereafter the sound became distorted.  Wires were check and it showed it was a defective speaker. I contacted tech support, and they verified the speaker was defective, and I would need to return the speaker.  I called support again, to confirm it was both speakers I would be returning.  I was informed yes, as they are sold as a pair, and therefore I would receive a new pair. Weeks later, I receive only one refurbished.  I contacted support, who is telling me they cannot contact the department who sent the speaker and will have to try and reach out to them to see why they only sent one speaker.  Who cares why one speaker was sent.  I would like a set of speakers.  You take a brand-new speaker, to send me a refurbished speaker which already had problems.  I am disgusted with SONOS and will think twice before spending my money to purchase their products.

First of all, if there’s so much hate, bugs and whatever on the new app, why no rollback - can someone tell me why my multi thousand dollar fully integrated home sound system gets to be a brick all of a sudden? My wifi is exceptional, but not for Sonos anymore - songs take ages to play, pause and skip and every room has its own delay.I have two issues I wonder if other people encounter as well: Any other users have problems with deezer playlists as well? Yesterday I added a lot new songs to my favorites, but Sonos simply can’t see them and when I click one it will just start playing the song that was in that position the last week. If you get what I’m saying? Then - I use Sonos at work as well, it used to connect automatically, not anymore, everytime I need to reconnect if I was at home and go to work or vice versa. Is it a known issue a device can only be connected to one ecosystem?Weirdly enough, my playlists work
