Controllers and Music services

It seems like One only supports certain services.  I have MP3 recordings of accompaniment I want to sing with.  How do I do that with Sonos One?

On monday 5/11 my Sonos controller was working fine, I rebooted my pc and now it will not connect to the lirary. It says it does then goes to “Sorry we cant connect to Sonos” display. Being that it is Friday 5/15 I narrowed it down to sonoslibraryservice service not starting. Not sure why and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? Thanks for helping. Recently started experiencing issues with connecting to iTunes. I am able to ‘search’ Sonos and play music from the Sonons app however when I hit: Browse > Apple Music > My music - “We’ve run into a problem. Try again.” comes up. I have reset my Sonos, iTunes and could use some help. Any ideas on how tor resolve this?

This week I have had problems connecting to CNBC on my SONOS system via Tunein.  The CNBC stream will start as expected then drop off after about two minutes.  The Tunein CNBC stream works fine on other devices on the same WIFI.  It appears that the problem is with SONOS.    Is anyone having a similar problem.     Scott   Update:  The CNN Station failed after five minutes.  Now I assume its not just CNBC.

how to disable screensaver? 

I have two Sonos products a Play:5 (gen1) and a Play:1. They are connected to a Netgear Orbi mesh network over wifi. The satellites for this network are wired. I’m controlling from a Samsung galaxy s9+ and a PC (Windows 10)   I repeatedly get the “Connection to Spotify was lost message” when using. Songs will sometimes play, but eventually, the error occurs.   Troubleshooting steps undertaken so far. Checked for wireless interference. The channel is fixed by the router to channel 11 and this is clear of any other networks (checked with a wifi scanner app). On occasion other networks appear in this range, but their signal is weak compared to mine. Fixed the IP addresses of both Sonos devices on the router. In testing, I’ve put both the devices in the same room as one of the wifi satellites and checked they are both connected to this wifi via the router. I have removed the connectivity between Sonos and Spotify on both apps and reinstalled both apps multiple times. I have reset my passwo

I have been using Sonos for some time now, and recently I have found that I can only play music from streamed sites. Why is this? I have purchased lots of music through iTunes. This no longer shows in my library. I have tried playing from the I Tunes app but the only speaker with is visible is my Ikea light. This plays ok but when I group the other speakers to this I get random dropping out of the speaker. I know this is not my system as when I am streaming's the radio it all works fine. Please help I cannot afford to replace the speakers but currently they are useless to me. It would appear that the only way to get this to work would be to subscribe to Apple Music, but as I have already purchased the music I would be paying again for something that I own. Please sort this out

High Sierra 10.13.6. I can see the speaker (One SL) in iTunes and it seems like there is a connection between them, but when i start playing a song it shows in a Sonos Controller app, like the info is loading, with the cover art, etc. but there is no sound and after like 2-3 second it drops like there is nothing to play. How can i fix this?  

Hi,     I have searched various topics under this question, but there doesn’t seem to be an apparent fix.  Basically, my “My Sonos” playlist that i have built over time , now no longer plays a whole heap of songs and skips until it finds one it likes. The playlist has played perfectly well, but i have had problems for the last few months and finally got around to reporting it. The songs all come from my paid music service Amazon Music. I have added more songs to the playlist today and seem to play ok, just ones that have been in there for some time, extremely enfuriating! I have submitted a diagnostic test 1266599825, i have rebooted the Play 3 speaker too. My router is the same as when it has played correctly and i have a healthy fibre to cabinet connection. Please help! Andy

I have been connected for days at a time, even able to start the music, but if I want to change the station on Pandora, Sonos claims that it’s lost the connection. I bought a Boost, thinking it might help, but that’s done absolutely nothing to help. I have two Sonos One speakers which I did pair for stereo, then split them again when we want to use them in separate rooms, but it’s been split for days. I’ll reset the network connection on my iPhone and it’ll come back allowing me to change the station, but going in just minutes later on a perfectly functioning network, Sonos again claims that its lost the connection to Pandora.  This has become frustrating beyond belief.

Hi. I’ve got a Sonos Symfonisk speaker, which was running fine a couple of weeks ago. Now I tried to use it and doesn’t work. Spotify recognizes it, but it doesn’t connect. Sonos app loads Spotify profile, library, etc., but doesn’t play (message: “Could not play song. Spotify connection was interrupted”). I already restarted router, mobile phone and speaker, several times. I also removed&reinstalled both Spotify and Sonos apps. And tried on android phone, os phone, ipad, PC. Also tried linking speaker through ethernet cable, using and older version of Spotify, reauthorizing Spotify on Sonos app. Nothing works. (I know the speaker does work - with the Sonos app radio service, for instance) Does anyone know of a way to fix this? Thanks!  

hello   i am getting the unable to browse music message whenever i try and search for an artist or album from the sonos app or my pc.   i have removed and relinked amazon music many times and nothing works.    any ideas

This is not resolved as I have seen many topics closed out, maybe just worded different but when I called in on Thursday 4.9 I was told “we are aware of the issue and there is no current fix”. I can play songs from Amazon music in Sonos no problem, but as soon as I add them to my Sonos Playlist and try to listen to them,  I get the dreaded “song not encoded correctly” error message. Diagnostics  1735251149.

Hi, i have put all of my music onto an external hard drive and connected it to my talk talk router via usb, when i log into the router the hard driceve is confirmed as connected however when i try to setup music library \\192.168.1.1\buffalo_hd\music it says the there is no share (buffalo) on computer 192.168.1.1, please help… Thanks in advance

Hello, I can play search and play Spotify, but everything is greyed out on saved Playlists and Albums I have been using Sonos for the last 6 years with Spotify and now i have changed my Spotify to Family. Now everything is greyed out for my playlists and saved albums, but i can still play songs outside of those sections! Any idea what is going on? Thanks!

I'm attempting to add my iTunes library to Sonos using my Mac. (Following instructions here: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/257 However, it seems like I've run into a snag stemming from how MacOS / iTunes manage the iTunes library and corresponding files. A little about my setup.     audio files stored on an external drive.     i have ~12,400 items in my iTunes library     iTunes Music Library.xml and Music Library files are stored on the drive on which MacOS / iTunes runs Regardless of what import method I use (letting Sonos detect the library, or manually pointing to a location) nothing really gets imported / indexed. What's odd is that Sonos seems to spend a large amount of time running the index but nothing is available via the app once it's complete. (Auto-Detect) My Music Method - Sonos imports playlists, but no audio is playable. Additionally, the playlist entries are all duplicated. The automatic indexing seems to run for quite some time but nothing ever becomes available

I have two separate Sonos systems in two separate houses. Everything has been working fine with Spotify but as of last week the service has deteriorated. When I select songs or playlists on Spotify via Sonos it jumps a random number of songs before being able to play one and then it tries to play 3 or 4 other songs but ends up jumping forward again and most of the time it just stops playing and says that it could not find the object on Spotify.  My Spotify account works fine by itself but not well through Sonos. I have different internet service providers in the two houses so it has nothing to do with that either. Other services like TuneIn radio works fine so this is only with regards to Spotify.

I am unable to get to iTunes via my phone nor am I able to connect to my existing system via mac. Help please!

Hi, I have followed the instructions here: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/321?language=en_US to access podcasts downloaded from the android app Podcast Republic on my OnePlus 3, but the Podcasts are not appearing in the SONOS app. In fact, the Podcast folder is not consistently appearing at all (it seems to depend on whether there is anything in the Music folder for some reason, but is not deterministic). The podcast files are present in what the File manager app calls “STORAGE>Internal storage>Podcasts” and the Android file manager calls “OnePlus 3>Podcasts” and can be played from there. I can’t see how their permissions are set. This is persistent across restart of the various apps and reboot, and none of the previous threads on this subject contained solutions to my problem. Any ideas?

Hi everybody, i use Apple Music and i can’t view the songs of any Sonos playlist on Apple Music, only the playlist title. Why?

I have read many posts on this topic and still have no clear answer or solution. I have a QNAP NAS and am running a Windows 10 PC. I currently have a USB drive attached directly to my Modem/Router and that is discovered and used by Sonos. I can add a Folder from my PC successfully but I WANT to add a folder from my NAS. When I attempt to do so, an error message telling me that I need to update my registry appears. I have read the linked Microsoft article and performed the Registry Update and rebooted - no success. I have turned off my Firewall - no success. Like everybody else I have no SMBv1 running - is this or is this not the issue? Sonos seem to be saying (?) that they no longer rely on SMB? I am frankly lost trying to keep track of whether it is or isn’t so. Having read extensively about this issue it seems to have been a topic for over 3 years. Is there a specific solution for this as if there is I haven’t been able to track it down? A solution would be gratefully accepted. Obvio

Youtube Music works well enough on Sonos, music quality streams just fine and I get you can’t thumbs up or thumbs down but the biggest holdup I’m having is that it won’t access the correct music library.   My friend pays for a google family account and shares premium services to my account. I cannot find out how to get the premium services to carry over to Sonos.   I used youtube music for a while then decided to subscribe to the premium service. It is fantastic and has become the only thing I use for listening to music. Sonos however will only access liked songs from my account previous to the subscription to premium services. I have to manually prompt it to play every song, this defeats the purpose of Sonos. I could just use a bluetooth speaker and be done with it but I like the potential of Sonos and want to use it more in the future.   If I cannot solve this issue I will let go of all my Sonos products and find something else.

I’ve recently switched from Spotify to Amazon Music and my Sonos speakers keep cutting in and out when trying to play Amazon Music. I don’t have any problem when I’m playing just on my phone. I never had this problem with Spotify and don’t have it with the TuneIn radio stations.

I have been using my Pandora account with Sonos for over 2 years. This past week, Sonos told me I needed to reauthorize my Pandora account.  I tried and when I hit “reauthorize,” it did nothing.  I have deleted Pandora from Sonos, I have deleted and re-downloaded my Pandora app from my device- the app is working fine btw, I have deleted and re-downloaded my Sonos app from my device- so yes, it’s up to date, I have signed out of Sonos and back in, I have checked to make sure I have my country registered correctly, I have done all updates to my device and and turned it back off and on… It still will not let me authorize my Pandora account.  The authorize button literally does nothing when I hit it.  Spotify still works, but I don't have their premium service to avoid commercials, and I was able to add my Apple Music account without issue- the stations don't work well for my business with Apple Music though.  Why is Pandora the only thing not working? What am I missing here?

We recently had to return our One’s to factory setting after we changed our router and couldn’t re-connect. All is now working, except that Alexa announces a requested song playing from Amazon Music, but then silence. I’ve searched answers on here and tried disconnecting Sonos on the Alexa app and vice versa, then re-connecting but the same thing happens. I’ve checked my Amazon account and Music is there. I can’t think what else to do to solve this.
