Controllers and Music services

I recently changed my wifi password. WHAT A MISTAKE. Something that must be done by thousands of people regularly shouldn't be a complicated issue for Sonos products should it? Every other system and device I own was able to accommodate the change easily. However, sonos products wasted 4+ hours of my life that I will never get back. Self troubleshooting, reading online forums, sonos' own app provided no help. It took one hour just speaking with a customer service agent and physically moving my sonos equipment across the house to hardwire it via the ethernet first, then reconfigure the wifi. Absolute joke. It seems the only option available is to move your equipment from wherever it is located and plug your devices in individually via ethernet and try to navigate through the app. Good luck.

My music library is located on a NAS (Synology) - it recently stopped updating the entire library. I’ve deleted the path and relinked it multiple times and it still updates the same incomplete list of files — there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to what it indexes and what it doesn’t, for instance there are some bands that I have on compilations and on albums, and their tracks from the compilations come through just fine but their albums don’t, even though the metadata is very similar. If I add new files they will sometimes show up in the index, sometimes not. I have about 40K tracks, so much lower than the 65K limit, and most of them are not recorded at unusually high bitrates. Does anyone have any suggestions? 

Hi I have been sold 2 Sonos  moves as my speakers a Sonos port and a Sonos sub to play music from my vinyl record player which has Bluetooth connectivity. The system Was also to play TV and blue tooth my Spotify account. I cant get it to work can you please help

Cory, This is still a vexxing issue.  Uninstalled, rebooted, you name it, we have tried them all and it is still a recurring issue. Apple Music will not sync and work with our Sonos. Is the reason known?  Is it fixable at the user level? thx

Afternoon all …. the perils of going Sonos shopping 😉Bought, installed and added an ARC and two Sonos One’s to work with a TV. In the main I think all good. They connect, they updated and give the indications they are close to working but not in the right room I think.We have a room called Otters Den. Originally, in that there was an AMP & a couple of ceiling speakers. The ceiling speakers are at this time still connected to the AMP. (wondering now if that’s confusing things?)The install process for the ARC appeared to go well. Also the first One the same. The second One a little more troublesome but seems in and connected. They are (should) be on wired connection although we have strong wifi here as well.But where the room is called Otters Den, the newly installed devices appear to be a new room called Otters Den 2 (the ARc and 1 x One) and Otters Den 3 (1 x One) …. fairly sure I didn’t ask to create new rooms but to add to Otters Den, Currently they look like this …. I’m a littl

Some of my Spotify playlists stopped showing up in Sonos. I signed out and in, un-authorized and re-authorized and now NONE of my playlists show. How do I fix this?

CBC Service problem: For the past couple of days, any CBC program I try vis the service in Sonos is "no longer available." Streaming works fine on the CBC Radio and Music app, but not via Sonos. Any tips?

My Sonos one is showing in my system but beam isn’t. The Sonos one is connect on 5G but the beam will only connect on 2.4G. Would this be why only 1 of them is showing up? If so what do I do? many thanks 

I use Sonos as an alarm for Radio 4 each morning at 0700. For some weeks the radio has been cutting out after 20 mins. Have checked all the settings, nothing has changed.  How can this issue be resolved?

Hi, as per the Title, in the last week my Sonos system has started giving me that notorious error message every time I try to play something new, from any of my sources (Spotify/BBC Sounds / Pocket Cast etc).But - and this is the key thing. After I get the error message, if I try to play the stream again, *it works*.So my Sonos setup is still working, it’s just become really annoying as when I move from room to room (I have 7 Sonos speakers across 6 rooms + a Roam) I get the same error message when I start a new stream, and then I have to press play again for the stream to start. It was working fine until last week, and I hadn’t changed anything about my network or setup to cause this (to my knowledge!) I have a Virgin 500M fibre connection, and an Asus ZenWifi XT8 mesh system. The Sonos Beam in the lounge is connected via ethernet directly to router, and the rest are on SonosNet (apart from the Roam, obviously). I have tried all the usual troubleshooting steps - restart router, restar

My Amazon music app shows grayed out queue button and the option to add to queue on each song option is gone whenever I’m connected to a Sonos speaker. In order to add something to queue I have to disconnect, add to queue, then reconnect. Not a huge deal and I know I could just create another playlist but seemed weird and the queue feature is kinda nice so I was hoping it’d work smoother. Anyone experience something similar ? Is it an amazon issue ? 

Sonos won't find system after changing router with Android app. The fix for this is to log in with an Apple device. Put in your new Wi-Fi password. And then boom the Android app works.

I bought a lot of sonos, a lot.. and I had it all working together with google home. I understand you got into it and did your corporate thing and whatever. Understand this, if I cannot simply stream soundcloud, pandora, or spotify directly to my speakers then I have zero reason to buy anything from you ever again. Now understand I really hate getting online and onto forums… to the point it’s only happened once in the last 20 years and you are the lucky winner. I have been through every troubleshooting tutorial, and I work as an architect in big tech… and I still cannot get your ****** *** system to work. I have used a Mac from late 2013 as a music server since that date.  All was working well until it updated to Catalina and simultaneously I updated to S2.   Since then, Sonos cannot find the music library saying that it cannot find the computer.  S2 is literally running on the computer itself.  I worked with customer service and it was determined that this was likely due to the known problem with Catalina’s security update that messed up File Sharing on Mac computers.  Indeed, this problem was present.So, I moved all of the music files over to my PC via an external drive.  I copied the files onto a SSD drive on my PC.  I then tried to link the music library on the PC, and I am getting the same message--S2 cannot find the computer, now the PC, it is running on and therefore cannot index the files.  On both computers, I can see and play the files using other applications.  I ran a diagnostic on the PC right after this occurred.  The diagnostic number is 1588168447.I have once again asked

When I try to add Apple Music service in the S1 app (Android 11), I get a blank white screen at the point where it’s supposed to bring up the Apple login page. I tried on two different Android 11 devices. I tried adding other services as an experiment, and they all transfer correctly to the particular service login page at that same point. I asked Sonos support, and they tried some suggestions on Chat and looked at a diagnostic dump, but in the end they were stumped. I’ve successfully connected Apple Music to Sonos before, so it looks to me like a new bug between Sonos and Apple on Android 11.Unfortunately Sonos doesn’t provide any options. The Windows app is not allowed to add Apple Music. Neither is my Amazon Fire tablet running FireOS 7.3 (Android 9). Neither is the S1 app running on Android 7 any more, the device I’ve always used before.  And my iOS devices are too old to run the latest S1 app. Update: I tried updating to S2 - didn’t help, same problem.I’m out of ideas. Hi,After a year or so of playing without any issues, I am now regularly experiencing issues where songs played from my music library (NAS drive) or Spotify are stopping mid song and then either restarting on the same song after several seconds or jumping to the next song. I would appreciate any suggestions to resolve this.I currently have no issues with my WiFi which is super fast (1Gbit). I can’t find the “Quiet Classical” station listed in Sonos radios menus on the Android app. However I can find it by using the app’s Search.I can add the station to “My Sonos” from Search but its icon is shown as washed out.Is all this a bug? How can it be fixed so the station is fully listed and has a proper graphicicon?

Sorted now : o) On my phone the Sonos 1 and the other 2 different sonos speakers are recognised. However in Windows 10 controller app the 2 are recognised but the Sonos 1 is not. this is only a recent event.  

I changed my password on my Apple Music account.  It works on all devices. Sonos app asks if I wan’t to “reauthorize” I say Yes.  There’s no place on the Sonos App to enter the new password. So reauthorize fails.  And I am stuck in an infinite loop. I see that Sonos owners have been asking Sonos to fix this for 2 years.  I don’t see any solution in Sonos’ support boards.  Is Sonos ignoring this on purpose because Sonos has it’s own music service?Are they willing to loose thousands of customers?What can be done about this? 

Spotify loses connection with my Play5 Gen 2 when streaming both when initiated from within the Sonos app or directly from Spotify. No issues streaming to Beam, Sub, Play1 SL and Play 1 on the same system. all software versions up-to-date. This is a recent issue?

Hi All. Since the Apple Music outage a few days ago I just get the message “Unable to browse music” when trying yo use Apple Music.  I have removed and reloaded the account, reauthorised it etc to no avail.  I have a family account and I did notice that my partners library was working fine which seemed odd. Its becoming a pain now as not all of my set u is Airpaty compatible so fiddling about to link things isn't very user friendly ! I see this seems to have happened over the years but wondered if anyone had a resolution to this ?

EQ not working since 14.14 update on sonos arc 

Hi, I have recently noticed that Spotify controller (PC and Android versions) no longer can see my Sonos speakers in the ‘Connect to device’ option. Up until last week it was working fine. I have recently changed my router and had to reconnect all my speakers again. However, everything is working fine except this particular issue.Any suggestions?

I have had my system for a couple months now. I setup my Music Library, which is a folder shared on my Synology NAS, on day one. After the indexing occurred in the first 24-hours, I have had no issues accessing the library when I click into it. However, after the 14.14 update occurred, my Music Library is now missing! I am able to use Alexa and stream Amazon Music as well as Apple Music without issue. But my library is completely gone. I try to add it back in through the app, but it is not working. It indicates that an initial indexing needs to take place before my library will show up. I have waited for 2 days now, no luck! Any ideas?? I have rebooted NAS as well as rebooted my phone. TV works just fine, too. I would really like to get my library back… HELP! :) PS - I have an iPhone 13 Max Pro, in case that makes a difference. And I should also mention that the app on my phone as well as my Arc, Sub Gen 3  and (2) Sonos One SLs are all currently updated and running 14.14.

The title should of course refer to BBCI like to play podcasts from BBC Sounds on my Sonos system.  Normally these work just fine but if the podcast is flagged as having adult themes or strong language all I get is the warning message “What you’re about to hear contains adult themes and strong language” repeated over and over and the podcast itself never plays. Other podcasts from BBC Sounds play just fine and I can play those with the warning on other devices.It’s really frustrating and I’ve been unable to track down a solution. Malcolm
