Controllers and Music services

It’s 2022 and Sonos is still dependent on SMB v1!  I just tried making SMB v2 the minimum on my Synology  NAS were my music resides, and Sonos could not access it.  Until I turned on SMB v1 again.  When I did this I got the strong warning shown below. Are there any plans to retire the Sonos dependency on SMB v1?  

Is it possible to fast scroll down artists/albums on an iPad from music files stored on MyCloud Home to Sonos? It is tedious going down all the artist names etc. to get near the end of the alphabet.

Hi,the sonos app (mac and iphone) keeps on playing random songs instead of the songs and albums i select. in addition, i cannot go into the albums themselves (when i tap/click on them, it stay on the same view, and starts playing random songs)setup: 2 x Play:1, 1x playbar. Sonos S2 OS.i have deleted the app, removed amazon music, reset the system, but the problem is still there.i simply cannot play the music i want! Please help!

TuneIn just plays endless loops of commercials and never gets to the actual station anymore.I don’t mind a few ads,  but an endless loop?!it happens on almost every station I try.I should also say that this only happens on Sonos.it works great in my car and phone.any ideas?

the sonos system recognizes the sub but when I try to pair it it gives me "setup problems"and does not associate it with any room 

Hi, apple music does not work. Says cannot connect to apple. Other services work just fine. Anybody has the similar problem? Tanks.

        After the 14.18 updates recently, the link for Trueplay was sent to me in my iPad and I duly did it in my room which consisted of the Arc, a pair of One SLs and the Sub Mini. There was no problem (both steps) and i was successful on the first occasion and of course the overall sound improvement was instantly noticeable.         Unfortunately I cannot say the same for my set up in the hall. I have my Playbar, Sub Gen 3 and a pair of One SLs. I was unable to even get through the first step of the Trueplay because apparently there is some noise interference in the hall. I had this done at 5am in the morning with everything off except the lights and no outside noise either. I have been trying since but have been unsuccessful all the time - not even the first step. For your information the set up was on Trueplay before the updates. Can anyone enlighten me on what to do about this?

I have connected my ion Max turntable to the play 5. The music plays through Play 5(2nd Gen), Beam and sub mini. The bass does not sound great. However the same music played through airplay from Spotify sounds great. What am I doing wrong? I can feel the subwoofer vibrating but there is hardly and bass. thanks. 

Since couple of weeks (after update?) I am unable to stream from Spotify to Sonos Connect. Using Spotify in Sonos app has same result.I have two Connect’s, both connected via LAN, both show the same behavior.  Streaming to other Sonos devices works fine. Streaming from other sources than Spotify works.When grouping Connect with a Play:1 streaming works on Connect.Reassigning Spotify account and restarting complete network didn’t solve issue. Anybody else with same issue?

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing issues with Sonos Music Library and the Synology NAS becoming unresponsive or very sluggish, or with random speakers disappearing from the S2 app. I recently enabled the Music Library feature in Sonos (before the 13.4.1 update in Dec 2021 which introduced SMB3 support). At that time, I configured my Synology NAS to use SMB1 to allow the connection to work. I was on DSM Version: 7.0.1-42218 and running S2 13.3.2. Somewhere around 11/25/21, my Synology started going offline and become unresponsive. I was running a DS1517+ with 2GB of RAM and noticed that the SMB process was eating a lot more RAM than usual. Also, started seeing thousands of connections from the Sonos speakers, multiple times for each speaker. My Sonos updated to 13.4, but the issue still remained.I opened a case with Synology and they determined that the Sonos speakers were opening hundreds of connections per speaker and leaving the connections open. Hello, I would like to connect spotify to my sonos application but I can't find the application in the "add a service" search. However I managed to sync my soundcloud account.  Thank you for your help !

HiFor some years I have had my Music Library on a NAS, but that one is scrapped now, and I want to have my Music Library on an 1TB USB3 connected M.2 drive on my M1 Mini. I have my Apple Music on the same disk (different folder of course), and this is working well.Shared folder added to Sonos Controller is: /Volumes/Ext_M1_1TB/MusicExt The folder is shared for Sonos as Custom.When I Scan, nothing seems to happen. I have tried to have the app open for some hours to see if it was scanned, but the Music Library in the App keeps empty.Any ideas?br Lars

A few weeks ago I’m alone at home minding my own business. Suddenly my Sonos system starts playing a song (“Faith” by Stevie Wonder) without my intervention. It plays for a few seconds and then the volume goes up to max. Panic!We live in a flat and have Sonos in several rooms. Poor neighbors…After a few seconds i got myself together and I managed to open the Sonos app and press “pause”. Directly, the music “unpauses”, I “pause”, it “unpauses” and then I turn down the volume to a minimum and then nothing.At first, I suspected that some intruder had gained access to our WIFI and started going over the security logs of our Unifi (Ubiquiti) system. Nothing suspicious there. After that my guess was that one of the neighbors that I know has Sonos in their homes mysteriously had connected to the system. Hi,Suddenly Sonos can’t add albums or songs to the queue.See the inserted image.I use Tidal as music service. I have rebooted my router and my Sonos devices.My Sonos devices are connected to the router with an ethernet cable.The Sonos app is updated.I don’t what else to do. Any suggestions?Is the problem to be found with Sonos, Tidal or my network?Thank you in advance.   

Why can I no longer use browse on Apple Music? I use to be able to see Top Playlists, Top Albums and etc. I do not want to have to go search each time.

Successfully removed my bridge Successfully set up the Sonos system on my TP link mesh  everything was working well on S1 (thanks Airgetlam) Checked compatibility of my Sonos units with S2. All fine. downloaded and installed S2 on my phone followed the instructions including switching off and on each unit and my router App confirmed all good Everything showing as incompatible in S2 - rooms, all of the Sonos units  So nothing works on S2. This is a car crash. What have I done wrong? Does anyone have any thoughts?

I have Amazon Prime Music on my Sonos App and yesterday when going to play some albums (including those I have purchased) the app no longer displays the tracks on the album. Previously they all listed. If I click the album it will play the album and you can skip to next song etc but you cannot select to play from a list as you could before.I use the SONOS S1 app due to older equipment (Sonos 5’s and amp) and cannot afford to upgrade everything.Anyone else have this issue?

I have used spotify with sonos for a long time now, but for some reason spotify cant play on all my speakers specifically my two Play 1. When i start a playlist it keeps skipping songs and says “unable to play song, connection lost”. Usually after 3-5 skipped songs it will start playing. Both speakers are wired, and have been working for a long time. I have rebooted the speakers. Re connected spotify to sonos app. Router reboot.Everything else seems to work just fine, all other speakers (Arc, Sub, Play5 and one/sl) are working perfectly.

I can play pandora, Spotify, Tunein, but cannot play SiriusXM.At one time it worked sporadically but now not at all.”UNABLE TO BROWS MUSIC.” 

The Sonos app is constantly turning on by itself and running in the background. I can choose the option to stop the app once I see the notification that it's running, but it starts again after a brief period of time. Galaxy S22 & 14.18 is the app version.

Diagnostics: 1020127941Hello!So my problem is the following:I have an IKEA symfonisk lamp/speaker. I recently needed to change internet providers so I have a new router. Today I wanted to connect for the first time since that change to my device when I was unable to find it in the system without an Ethernet cable. To be able to connect again through Wi-fi I had to: Reboot my speaker to factory settings Change my SONOS account to a different email.After that and at least 2 hours of troubleshooting I managed to reconnect my speaker to my phone. However, as it is a new account I need to add Spotify. I have tried to connect to it many times but once I finish setting it up on Spotify’s end, I come back to the app at it gives me this “Connection Error” to Spotify and I am unable to add my account. My speaker is currently connected through Wi-fi and is able to play music through the Spotify App but not through Sonos due to this issue.I don’t know what’s happening and what I must’ve done wrong

So here is my setup: Living Room - Arc (hardwired), Symfonisk frames, and sub Master Bedroom - Beam, Symfonisk frames Dining Room - Beam About two weeks ago I was having this weird issue where I couldn't play any music to just Master Bedroom, it kept giving me some weird error (I cannot remember now what it was). Now, it would work if I played on the Dining Room and then added Master Bedroom to the group, but not the other way around.Now for the past few days when I'm trying to use Sonos, it says there are updates available, but when I try to update it I get "Error 30" or “Error 1001”.I have a firewall running pfSense for my router. Currently what I have done is unplugged every piece of Sonos I have, rebooted my router multiple times, and have started with the Arc in the Living Room, both wired and unwired, and keep getting update errors. Can anyone help please?

Hi.I have just downloaded the S2 App on to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 to control my Sonos Roam but when I try to launch it the screen just flashes with the yellow start screen.My tab 6 is running Android 12 and is fully up to date.Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get it to work?For info it all works fine on my S21 Ultra phone.Many thanks in advance for your help.
