Controllers and Music services

I listen to BBC Sounds podcasts via my Play:3 speakers. Since the new iOS app update, the app only lists the most recent 30 episodes of a BBC Sounds podcast (not sure if this is the same for other sources). This means I cannot listen to old episodes of podcasts via my Sonos system, something I could do with the previous S2 app.Can Sonos explain why this limitation has been introduced please?

up until a few days ago, I was using Sonos s2 v16.1 with the classic search on an iPad.  I’ve since upgraded to 18.04.  now, I can no longer find the podcast on Amazon that I was looking for.  can you tell me how to find the “Playing with Fire” (radio 1100 am WHLI) podcast?   alternatively, is there a way to use classic search on 18.04?  or, lacking that, is there a way to back to sonos 16.1? 

After buying a Ray I had to indtal the S2 app of Sonos to control it.My other devices run on the old S1 app.But now suddenly when opening the s1 it wants me to go to the s2 app - and I cannot access the s1 app and therefor not use and control my devices!!what to do??

Does an app update (the latest) make any difference for the trueplay? Is it the software in the speakers or the app that make the settings right?

Pocketcasts podcast integration no longer syncs progress either with prior listening via Sonos or with progress on pocket casts app.  This feature still works as intended on the old S2 app, but is completly broken in the new update.I contacted support online.After a 20 minute wait I spent twenty minutes with an advisor who told me the following…Podcasts are not supported on the Sonos system, only music services. Upon my further information they told me pocketcasts is a music service.  I pointed out that the settings on the old app specifically mentions podcasts when adding services and voice. The solution was to reboot my speakers. I pointed out that on my android phone, under the old app the system still works fine, on ios via the new app the podcasts start at the beginning every time, irrespective of progress. I just purchased an ERA300 and in order to benefit from Dolby Atmos I am trialling Apple Music coming from Spotify.As I never used it before I need to train its algorithms, selecting songs, liking and disliking suggestions in the apple app as the sonos app doesnt support this.  But if I use the apple app and select the sonos speaker then it doesn’t support Dolby Atmos. So it would appear I have two choices: listen to music I don’t like in Atmos quality or listen to music I do like without Atmos - which was half the reason for selecting this speaker.  Am I missing something?

Hi there, I am a Sonos user since 2010, very happy regarding this solution. Actually I have to tell the the S2 app is not work properly in the last months; volume is not working on S2 app (on spotify yes..), and almost every time I try to connect on my network the app says some room is missing, or is not possible to contact a speaker...in the meantime Spotify is working fine.There is anything that Sonos SW eng could do to fix all these issues?The experience on the app is becoming really bad, lately… @sonos? I cannot play my local music on a stereo pair. Single speaker works fine..…Does anyone have the same problem?

Sonos have told me here are issues with this recent update, which caused me to loose my Music but they were able to give me bac the radio options last week. There are clearly having some real issues dealing with the problem and I was told the plan is either to work on “work arounds” or wait for the update to fix the problems. Does this mean I cannot access ad play my own music library lists once again. This seems to happen each time they do an UPDATE! Has anyone got any ideas. I am not very tech savvy so no good giving me IT speak replies lol. 

I had to reset my WiFi password cause we think someone hacked our system and was using our WiFi.   As you know, all our Sonos are now disconnected, which is like 7 rooms of speakers.  There surely is a way to reset the password in the app?   Online is telling me I have to do a factory reset on all speakers?  Which would be over 20 speakers for me.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks, Nels 

Since the latest (May 2024) upgrade to the Sonos App my system has stopped working.System consists of:Sonos BoostSonos 1 x 1Sonos 3 x 2The app has so far spotted the Boost but then failed to add it, stating only:We couldn’t find any Sonos products on your mobile device’s network so we can’t set up you [Boost].I’ve had the same result trying to set up the two Play 3’s.Bizarrely, the Play 1 has been set up with no problem. But without the boost or the play 3’s I don’t have a network worth a light.All products have been factory reset and were each individually connected to the router via ethernet during attempts to set up. Mobile device was on the same Wi-Fi network (2.4Ghz) as the boost (am assuming still that Sonos does not support 5 or 6 ghz). Any ideas? ThanksFrank

Because band names tend to not follow spelling conventions, the spell check feature is singularly unhelpful.Holopaw defaults to Phillepe (who knows where it gets that).Pinc Louds gets you pin closed. How do I disable spell check in this wonderful new app?  I cannot find it in settings. Thanks for any guidance.

So I have this issue, I believe since Sonos version 14.20.1, that I'm unable to 'browse' my Plex content via the Sonos iOS app and Sonos Controller for PC.I can search content and play via the Sonos iOS app and Sonos Controller for PC, but unable to browse the content. I also restored my Plex music server to a previous version so I'm really sure it's related to the latest version of Sonos 14.20.1Do you members also experiencing this issue?Sonos 14.20.1Plex 1.30.0.6486

Why have you removed the mute button ?Why have you removed ability to show the equaliser controls by swiping the volume bar ?Why after all these years do we not have lock screen controls on the iPhone ?

So listened to my music collection playlists on Sunday (decorating) and Monday (working at home) on my Play 1’s all fine no issues. Yesterday morning, app upgrade 🤕 and can no longer find any of my music & my playlists, so had to work at home in silence. My laptop & phone played fine, finding all MP3 files, but laptop/phone speaker quality is not great. How do I get my music collection back, please, I can’t find any setting in the app to point to my files ? Currently got a couple of Sonos Play 1’s that no longer work….

I have been using SONOS for some years but lately it has stopped working and now it has completely cleared my record collection completely. I have tried unsuccessful to get it working again but have lost all hope.  Please help!

Let's face it, Sonos is going to continue to focus primarily on the streaming market, which it has clearly decided is its future. Most of the people who have been posting on all these threads about the horrors of the Black App masquerading as S2 appear to be the dinosaurs such as me who rely on their local Music Libraries as their content source.My own situation is that my Library is on a NAS, I have the latest firmware on my components, Android V16.1 on three controllers and V80.01.7 on the fourth and finally a Win 10 PC also running V16 .  Updates are blocked and I have the executables to restore V16 stashed away in case they get through.My system is stable and my controllers all run fine within their limitations, which are well known.  While I abhor the way V80 was launched in such a deprecated state, I can see some logic behind the new UI, which is clearly set in stone.  I am prepared to live with it as long as Sonos keep their promises about reinstating the functionalities they ha

Info: I Power off ny system evert night, meaning it boot up/restart every morningI use an iPhone when i go into the app and request my favorite radio station the app keeps showing that it is trying to start the channel even if it is already playing in the speaker. In this mode I am not allowed to change the volume from the app.

How can I change the balance and base and treble with the new app

Hi,Here’s my problem, I have a turntable with a sonos era 100 right beside it, let’s call it the office speaker and have 2 more in the living room. The turntable and the office speaker are connected with a bluetooth connection and I would broadcast music in the living room through the app. Before the new app redesign I would simply connect the turntable and the office speaker, and in the app I would see a bluetooth logo that I could broadcast to the living room. It was simple, fast and most importantly, working. Tonight I got a new album and wanted to play it everywhere in the appartment, so I did as I always did, connected the turntable to the speaker and dropped the needle. It was working as usual for the office speaker. The issue started when I wanted to broadcast the music to the living room. When I selected all of my speaker (Spotify wasn’t playing at the time) the office speaker’s bluetooth connection stopped and no sound would play anywhere. No matter how I tried, if I wanted to

I'll be honest I'm not brilliant when it comes to apps etc (especially this new one) it's driving me mad.Can I add and play Amazon music on Play 3 and Play 5? Also are they compatible with Alexa voice assistant, I already have it working on the Sonos beam.Been using this new app for a week or so and it's still frustrating the life out me.

Hi all, Context: I have 2 SONOS Systems - one at home, and one at the office. There are 2 separate accounts - one for home, and one for the office.  Since the new App was launched (which is obviously abysmal), I am being forced to login to each account whenever I want to manage SONOS. Prior to the App update, I could simply be connected to either wifi and the I could manage the music with ease. I could just walk into either place, open the app and be good to go. Now when I go to the alternate location, I have to Connect to the System in the App, and then actually login to the associated SONOS account.  It’s not a major issue, just inconvenient and a step backwards from what we are used to. Any ideas? Much appreciated in advance.
