Controllers and Music services

I am definitely not very technically proficient, so please bear with me. I have been a Sonos customer since 2010 and have had a very large music collection on a NAS (which has changed brand over time) all the time. Now I have a WD My Cloud, which is over 10 years old. With the advent of the new app, access to my own music disappeared overnight, as you know, and I am left with Spotify. Terrible.My question is whether I might as well buy a new NAS…? I have read that SMB1 is not supported by the new app – and in my NAS settings, I can't choose between SMB variants, which leads me to conclude that it must be equipped with SMB1 - or is this pure nonsense… can I establish it somehow? So, while Sonos gets around to re-establishing the connection to local music collections in their app, should I just bite the bullet and buy a new NAS? (which today presumably always has SMB2 and 3 built-in?) - or is it a waste of money?PS: I have found that I can still listen to my NAS music via the third-party

New app basically just doesn’t work. most common error. Something happened. please try again. Displayed. queen. was listening to “ one night in bangkok. soon about to selling all my Sonos 

Anybody else having problems with My tuner stations? I used to use the Exclusively…………..stations and now they won’t play along with various others.Moderator edit: Title corrected

Since the latest android app update (the one from the 6th of june) I cant see  simultaneously my 2 sonos one SL and my beam in the app. If the 3 devices are plugged in then the beam doesn't show up, if I unplug a sonos one sl , suddenly the beam comes back. It's like if the app can show only 2 devices and not more.I have tried factory reset on the 3 of them, recreate a new room, uninstall and reinstall the sonos app, but I always end up in the same place.As a result I'm unable to set-up the 2 sonos one sl as surround speakers.What can I do?

Dear Community,i’ve a “special feature” of the newest SONOS App wich drive’s me a bit crazy.If i search within the Spotify App for e.g. an Actor “Bibi Blocksberg” i get all published albums as a result list as you can see here as an example - you see that “Folge 17: Der kleine Hexer” is shown up:Spotify Results If i do the same search within the SONOS App and go to the results from Spotify i get a quite limited list of items:Sonos Results of Spotify for the same ActorAs you can see the results are limited and the last Album i see is “Folge 127: Das verrückte Huhn”.. Any idea’s why this is limited in SONOS? It is useless for me as my little daughter is complaining that she does not see all the Albums anymore… Let me know your thoughts as well as the feedback from SONOS!! 

I've got the ARC and a pair of ERA 100s set up as a surround sound system. I understand that this disables Bluetooth on the 100s but what I don't understand is why I can't initiate music from my Pixel (Android) device? (The Sonos or ERA 100s are not an option to play back on.)If I go through the Sonos app to play back music from YouTube Music, it's a much more limited app. I can't just browse the YTM library.)Is this how the Sonos is supposed to work?       

I guess Sonos doesn’t believe in the saying “if it’s not broke don’t fix it.” My biggest complaint is I can’t add to the queue after playback has started. Also, Slower response on app, can’t blend playlists from different services, etc etc. I have to use my computer to get the flexibility I need. All of which was available in the old app.

Before the app was updated, I could easily find and listen to my favorite podcasts from my favorite radio station. Now I can't do that at all. Various searches yielded nothing for me. Playing Deezer has also become practically impossible. Where has my positive music experience on Sonos gone? I read here that I am not the only one with many Sonos problems 🙁. Does anyone give me tips?

Hello:Level 2 support is telling me there are no more troubleshooting steps they can do. Since the new app, I can’t get all the speakers playing.  I downloaded this week’s update and firmware. What do I now?   Brian

I get this message almost every time I log into the app.  I have factory reset the system added everything back, I've reset the router, I deleted the app and reinstalled.  It will seem like it's setup and then the same thing.  This happened with the old app and the new version as well.  Please help, I've got multiple speakers and they're all bricks right now.  

Since new app, I have to re-add the devices (boost, play base, sub, 2x play1) and even after re-adding them many times, they keep disappearing from new app. I am so sick of this new buggy app. Any solutions?  

Having updated the Sonos App I’ve spent an hour trying to find the Alarm settings. I swear it’s missing!  Please tell me where I can find them.

How do I connect Network Drives and PC Shares in the new App?

Hard to believe that using a Sonos Connect for turntable still shows up with the other speakers and cannot be identified as a Source instead — It is a Line-In Source but cannot be labeled as Turntable in new app — Well is can be labeled as such - but that Turntable label does not show when turntable is playing as a source - it just says Line-In

You know that the app changes have made the speakers completely useless?  The new application changes made my purchase USELESS.  Can't access my library, can’t set up a queue of music, my existing playlist are gone.  So much of what would be considered a basic functionally was removed from the application.  Will have to give serious consideration on whether my new speaker purchases become a different system (and get rid of my existing 6 Sonos speakers).  Your company just can no longer be trusted, and nothing seems to be getting done to try and get it back.  You might want to let your CEO know how bad it has become, assuming he even cares.  Once you go public, you don’t care about your clients.Just absolutely horrible and you should be embarrassed

I never post here but need to add my voice to the conversation. The new app is slow, unresponsive, and difficult to use. How could you*  this up? Why would you *  this up? Hey, I recently upgraded my Sonos setup with an Arc, two Symfonisk rears, and a Sub 3, but I can't use TruePlay to tune the speakers. I've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps—restart, reset, and reinstall. On both iPads I've used (iPad 7 and iPad Air 2024; iPadOS 17.5.1), the same issue occurs. The TruePlay button is visible, the instructional video plays, but the "Start Tuning" button doesn't respond.Is this a known issue? Has any fellow iPad user found a workaround? Thank you!

sonos shouldve never updated there app. its super slow to go next song and takes way too long to load. we have so much money invested in sonos. we are so frustrated since the new app and had to get out out JBL speaker for our patio party . i hope sonos figures out there issues quickly. And the app is now all black and not easy to find. 

The treble slider control has negligible effect with latest update to version 80.02.04 on my iPhone. The bass slider control still works well.  Anyone else having this issue?

The new App is absolutely garbage and does not load music and even work without crashing.  This kid on Apple and on Android operating systems. Revert back to the previous version ASAP or the damage to the Sonos brand and reputation will be unrepairable.Everyone we know who has Sonos is having the same issues.  

I see that the new Sonos App allows lossless audio via Apple Music. However, I would rather use Apples native app for various reasons. Does anyone know if using the native Apple Music app allows lossless audio to Sonos equipment? Or do I have to use the Sono app and Apple Music as an add service within the app? 

Hallo, nutze Sonos (leider) schon seit mehreren Jahren. Nun die neue App, die eine absolute Katastrophe ist. Langsam und Funktionen sind nicht mehr aufzufinden. Wie kann ich denn einen Song zu einer playlist in Sonos hinzufügen? Früher ging das ganz einfach über die drei Punkte…und jetzt? kennt noch jemand dieses Problem?   

I have two Era 100 with line-in from turntable, tv and Apple tv connected. I have a Google Nest wifi and i have set permanent IP for the Era speakers. This has worked just fine.but now it’s a mess. I guess it has something with the latest uodate to do.the line-in just disapear from the app and i must disconnect the stereo pairing of the speakers to find it again. And then loose it when i try to pair again.After resets after resets and countless trying to workariund this issue, i’m no so sick of it, that im considering another system.is there anyone else who have same issue? And does anybode know what to do?

Na de update naar 80.00. Ziet hij mijn producten niet meer. Hij vraagt steeds naar instellingen te gaan en daar ‘lokaal netwerk’ aan te zetten maar die staat aan. En het juiste netwerk staat aan.
