Controllers and Music services

We have this situation:3 different devices, on two (2) the Sonos app finds the system and works. On one device, with the updated app version, it does not work. The devices:a) Iphone 14 - IOS 17.5.1 Sonos App vers 80.04.04b) Windows PC - windows 11 Sonos desktop vers 16.2c) Android 12.0.0 Sonos App vers 80.04.05-release + 20240702.edb3233Same wifi networkThe app installed on Android and Windows devices finds the Sonos system and works.The app installed on Iphones does not find the SONOS system.We are not talking about a single IPhone 14 having this problem. We have this model as a company phone: about 50 employees. All employees with this app version cannot use SONOS. Those who have the older version of the SONOS APP installed (light brown icon), on the other hand, can manage the system via the app.

The new app is not great. I type in a music artist and it populates Top Songs by the artist and you cannot just shuffle all those songs and can only play one at a time. This ludicrous but am I doing something wrong? It’s ruining my time by the pool with my Arc, Sonos One surround sound and recently purchased Sonance outdoor speakers. Please advise.

I have a music library on my MacBook Air running Monterey 12.7.4.  I am unable to get Sonos to access it- when I try to set it up, I get told that my administrator name or password is incorrect (which it isn’t!).  I have quite a lot of content including obscure folk music and digitised classical music which isn’t readily findable on streaming, and it is very frustrating not to be able to connect from either iPhone or computer.  I have the latest update of the app.  Any solution??

Hi SonosWhen can I expect the previous challenges with the new Sonos app to come through?Today I have challenges with the fact that I can't get DR P4 radio to play on my Sonos system at all. Likewise, there are family members who have challenges connecting to the Sonos system. It is really challenging after the new App and certainly not demanding to speak well of Sonos in everyday life.Looking forward to hearing from you.Best regards Martin

Hi I have updated the app. I can only play one song at a time from Spotify before looking for another and loading the next. I can't add songs to a list. What am I missing? Thanks for advice Alan 

 App is on Android Phone.I want to edit the Home page of the app but if I click the “Edit Home” button, the items seem to be grayed out.Nothing happens if you click on one.Is there a way to fix this?

By carefully following hints on this Community I was able to once again view my Music Library through the Sonos App. I have an older iMac and did the following: This must be done on the web based Sonos app. There is no method using IOS on iphone.Enter File settings and change sharing to SMB Give proper permissions to Sonos to view Music folder. Enter correct path-link to My Music folder. Enter the Sonos app (web based on iMac) and Add Music folder using NAS.Having done all this the following observations are made:There is no way at present of searching My Music Library through the sonos IOS app. Searching the Music Library can be done in two ways: through Spotify Library search or through Sonos search on the web based app.Good Luck to All ! 

The new app SUCKS , the inability too group rooms is terrible . You can’t mute without putting the volume down, unlike previously where you can just click the volume control and immediately mute. Please bring back the last app was perfect. 

I’ve been using Sonos for 5+ years. Besides setting up your system, I am confused about what is the Sonos App for? My use case is really basic. I would like to see at a glance what is playing on all my speakers. Help me easily combine speakers for the source I want. But it’s clear this is not the top use case for the app. What does everyone use the app for? What is the user interface optimized for?—————————————————FWIW: here is my experience trying to use the app for my use case above:When I launch the app, it shows a recently played that’s always empty.My connected services (Apple Music & Spotify) - the Sonos interface takes more taps to get to the playlist and album with the nested menus. It also slower since it doesn’t seem to cache locally. So I usually have the music already playing from Apple Music or Spotify.My sources: which only shows the TV. Cannot get Sonos to recognize Sirius Canada, or always get a failed to load-try again later. Previous solutions suggested change password-done that and updated apps. What’s required?

Hello! I just set up a Sonos Port to my turntable and a third party speaker, but I am having sync issues when playing to the speaker and other Sonos speakers. Here's a breakdown of my set-up:AT-LP120XUSB »Rega Phono Mini A2D V2 »Sonos Port »Marshall Stanmore II Voice I would understand a delay if were running to an receiver between the Port and the Marshall speaker, but I'm going Line-Out directly to the Marshall. I've also set the Port to the all the Audio Delay options in the app without success. Is it not possible to play music Line-Out to a third-party speaker and to the Sonos simultaneously without a delay? Thanks!

Im running the latest Sonos App on my (up to date) iMac 24. I could not get my music library into the Sonos App and called in for help. The agent took over my Mac and moved some things around and now my library from iTunes/ Music is shown in the Sonos App. My playlists are nowhere to be found. I’ve read the articles about xml files but can find them so I don’t know the path. ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated. Thx hk

Even after the recent app fiasco, my TV Autoplay settings were still functioning correctly. After a forced update via the Windows desktop controller this morning it is no longer working.It seems that whether the switch in settings is set to ON or OFF, my living room speakers are now cutting off music and switching to SPDIF when there is a signal from the TV. (i.e Autoplay is always on no matter what I do to the settings.)I already can’t listen to the music that I own at all, and now I can’t even listen to music via a service in my main room while the TV is on.

Because there aren’t enough problems, here’s a minor one that’s just indicative of what a stupid app this is:When you search for something in Apple Music, the results automatically show you the whole service, and there isn’t another option below that which is just your library like there used to be. You need to click through to the service and then click another button to switch to your library.But wait! It gets better! Then it shows you the artist, below it are the songs, and then way below that are the albums because who listens to albums anymore? (Maybe people who are willing to spend thousands of dollars on a music listening system? Maybe?) Anyway it’s even better because when you get to the albums it doesn’t actually have all the albums you have on it. You can see the albums you have in your library in the song list, but they don’t actually show in your library! You have to actually search for the album name or go to the regular Apple Music tab… which shows

Playing Artist/top tracks... Have to play one by one. What happened to the options play the list or random play?

It’s good to see some of the features returning after the problems that arose from the recent app update and I’ve now managed to reconnect my music library, but seem to have a problem when trying to browse songs in my Library (and the ability to search the Music Library hasn't yet returned).  I can browse the full Library ok by Artists, Albums, Composers and Genres, but when browsing Songs the list stops after the first 100 songs (listed alphabetically).  Artists, Albums, Composers and Genres all display the full listing ok and I can see all songs (thousands) ok when browsing using the Mac Controller, so this is problems is specific to the iOS app (80.3).  Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it?

I am using S1 due to equipment limitations that preclude an upgrade.  When i try to play either of these two podcasts, and certain others, I get the response “cannot play the podcast xxxxx, the connection to pocketcasts was lost”. But he fact is, the connection is not lost.  When i select other podcasts on Pocketcast, they play just fine.  Sonos tech support gave me the standard blurb - Unsubscribe and then resubscribe.  This of course doesn’t work.  Sonos then states that its something on pocketcasts end, and they can be of no further assistance.  I must take up the problem with Pocketcasts.   I’ve refused to do the digital run around for 8 hrs ., only to find that i’ve wasted 8 hrs of my life;  Mainly for the fact that I have a real life with lots of other obligations, i just want to listen to the podcast!!  Has anyone else had this problem?My overall impression with Sonos is that it is very flimsy platform.  It seems to actively seek out reasons to not do what you

This new app has rendered my six speaker system completely useless.  I’ve rebooted, reinstalled, unplugged so many times I just want to throw it all away.  How can a company be this careless with their customers?  Never again.  

re New App.Not only does the equaliser NOT WORK I have lost all the midrange sounds PLEASE HELP!This is not what I expect from SONOS please reinstate the old App and give us our lives and our MUSIC back.

Hi,I have created a custom music service for my Sonos system (via http://urlofsonoscomponent:1400/customsd.htm) to have access to a service that does not provide its own app yet. The service is still listed and accessible with the old desktop app (MacOs) but not with the new app on my phone (Android). Is this something that will also be added back in to the app like local library access?

My Deezer sub menu is not opening within the Sonos app. I have uninstalled both Deezer and Sonos: it continues to tell me “something went wrong. Try again “. Other services are working, as is the stand alone Deezer app. This is just the latest problem since the Sonos app was up(down)graded ! Has anyone else had this problem?
