When I try to change the room name, I receive this message: “To manage these settings, sign out and sign back in as the owner of this system.”

Welcome back to the Sonos Community! And, apologies for the delay.

I’m sorry to hear of this issue you are having with changing rooms names on your system.

Please note that you can log in to the Sonos app with any Sonos account, but only the account with which the system is associated will allow configuration of the system, as opposed to just allowing playback control. The account you are using here on the community does have a system associated with it - please ensure you are using the account you are using here when logging into the app.

If you are using the right account, but still see the same message, please try the following steps:

  • Uninstall the Sonos App.
  • Visit sonos.com in the mobile device's primary browser and log out of any logged-in accounts.
  • Reboot the Mobile Device.
  • Clear the App Cache (iOS only).
    • Navigate to Settings on the iOS Device, then visit General > iPhone/iPad Storage > Sonos > Delete App
    • Reinstall the Sonos App from the App Store.
  • Reinstall the Sonos App and attempt logging in again
