The new app SUCKS , the inability too group rooms is terrible . You can’t mute without putting the volume down, unlike previously where you can just click the volume control and immediately mute. Please bring back the last app was perfect.
Yeah it’s total trash. It will likely crater the company’s 3rd quarter earnings. I’ve never seen such an obvious middle finger to customers. Literally half of their customers are totally shut out of their music systems. It’s a sh*tshow.

I agree with you completely. Whoever signed off on this release should be fired. I wish I could roll back my app.
The new update is totally trash, so many bugs, my whole system is glitching. Do better SONOS
I’ve sunk well over $1000 into my Sonos system and it’s turned out to be garbage. I’ve stopped buying new units for both my homes due to issues with it just working. It’s one thing or another but mostly about not being able to play my iTunes library.
Maybe I have it wrong how these sites work. I just find it amazing that considering the number of complaints about the latest Sonos app. There does not appear to be a response from Sonos.
There has been. You’ve just not looked for it. There are a half a dozen threads on here started by official Sonos representatives detailing the app update plans.
The CEO has also been interviewed although his words haven’t been very well received.
Please help me.

This is the last official thread started with details of forthcoming updates.
Thanks very much for that.
I have the latest update installed and there is nothing but issues. I maintain, whoever approved the release of this version needs to be removed from their job. I’m 100% certain that there were programmers under them who warned them that the app wasn’t ready and more “testing” was required because no self respecting programmer would release this trash if they were not forced to.
Among all of the features that don’t work, the worst one for me is that the new app doesn’t work across vlans, the old one did. I haven’t updated my mac app and it still works. Home Assistant has no trouble working across vlans either. So I basically can’t use my speakers unless I get the computer out. They flipped a switch and locked me out of my 10 sonos speakers and Amp. I feel like I’ve been had and it doesn’t feel good. It’s time to start looking at the competition. It’s a real opportunity for the competition…
Unfortunately modern Sonos is a litany of failure after failure, it should be genuinely embarrassing for them. However the most galling part is there blame shifting responsibility lacking attitude, it’s never their products, it’s always an issue with our network etc etc. Ooh you need a bridge/ boost etc etc more expenditure for the same crap results. It absolutely stinks, there’s other options out there, I’ve spent £1000’s on Sonos, I, like everyone else here love music, the enjoyment of which is one of life’s pleasures.
Sonos’s is ruining my enjoyment, cutting out, not connecting, dropping one of stereo a pair of 5’s for 10 minutes before they both play again, the radio as an alarm is disastrous, 50% of the time I wake up to the chime, rather than my favourite station, it’s so so frustrating. Listening to some ambient noise to drift of too, again completely unreliable, sometimes it may play for the desired length of time, mostly it cuts off after 5/10 minutes.
It was never this bad, infact my gen 1 pair of 5’s were fabulous, and compared to these gen 2’s better in every respect. They’re not daft, it’s intentional to get you to part with more of your hard earned!
Shonky under developed garbage that’s un fit for purpose, wake up! The only way this changes is by not purchasing their products.
