Dear Community,I hope someone has bumped into a similar issue at some point and can guide me in the right direction. At my workplace we have bought several Sonos Port-systems for a convenient way for our staff to listen to music in different locations.I can setup a Port-system along with an iPad to control the music, and it works perfectly fine. But when I move it to the physical location it is supposed to be it does not work.We have a fairly modern network with multiple access points serving the same SSIDs and on the network the Port-system is on, we have no endpoint-isolation, and it has Internet connectivity. The MAC-addresses for iPads and Sonos Ports are whitelisted. The Port systems and iPads are on the same wireless network. We use certificate based authentication, and that should not be an issue since it works perfectly at my desk.Starting over, as in resetting the Port and configuring everything from start in the intended location does not work at all.Does the Sonos system care
To start, I have scoured the internet and nothing has worked to resolve this issue. Existing Sonos speakers working through app.Older Connect on hand and on network. Krell integrated receiver. Thiel speakers. Trying to connect Thiel speakers through Krell amp and connect to Sonos. Nothing except a buzzing. Tried multiple inputs etc. Help!!
Hi, I have 2 x Play 5’s and a sub. If i try and turn the volume up or down quickly on either of the play 5’s, the sound goes off and you have to turn it back up really slowly or it goes off again. System is up to date, I've unplugged them and the router countless times and it still happens. It does it 75% of the time so is getting frustrating. Any ideas? Cheers
all of a sudden my sonos amp is automatically turning itself down . i turn it up , and it will just go right back to 15. I submitted a diagnosis # 1231294586.
Hello All,Components:Amps (3 on ethernet connection) Move (wifi) One (wifi)I have tried:Disconnect Router 180 seconds Plug in router Add 1 Amp - tested fine Add 2nd AmpResult:Network locks up. Removing 2nd Amp and the network comes back.
I recently purchased a new Sonos Amp and would like to drive 2 pair of in wall speakers. Each pair is wired with an impedance matching volume control (Niles VCS100K). 1 speaker pair is 8 ohms, the other pair is 6 ohms.I'm aware that Sonos doesn't recommend pairing this combination of speakers. Reading through the forum I haven’t seen any posts that specifically address the presence of impedance matching controls. Is there any reason this 4 speaker setup wouldn't work if the controllers were configured properly?
I have been using a connect amp for the past 8 years on a strong Wi-Fi signal off a Wi-Fi extender as our main router is not in the main living area. A few months ago we upgraded our main router and ever since then we have not been able to see the connect amp. I have been told that Sonos will not work on a wireless extender …. But it has for the last 8 years. I have reset it and the app finds it, then won’t connect to it. I cannot connect it directly. can anyone suggest a solution.
Hi, I’m still confused after a fair bit of research I’ve done. I own a 1970s Yamaha turntable with a Pioneer amplifier. I own a Sonos Beam and keen to expand my sonos family with either a punchier speaker or adding a Sub. Attached is a pic of my vintage amp so you can see all the complicated wires (yes i’m not very savvy with this stuff). So basically can I get a recommendation with what setup I should go for to get the best quality sound. I was thinking either the Port, Amp or Sonos five? Please help !
Moderator edit:Google Translate-Bought the Sonos port yesterday to be able to play vinyl on the record player for the Sonos Ikea symphonic lamp speakers. Lousy sound. How can I get louder and better sound? Have set full volume in the app, but it doesn't help. Only the turntable connected to the port.
So I have a setup including 4 Sonos One speakers ( Generation 2 ), and 1 Sonos Beam soundbar. Prior to getting these I had fondly imagined that in time I’d be able to get a turntable of some kind that would wirelessly connect with my system, so that I would be able to hear my old vinyl again. Too late have I come to appreciate that this can only be done via Bluetooth ( not Wi-fi ), and as the One speakers are not Bluetooth-enabled, that seems to be that, and I am stuffed. having just acquired all this Sonos gear at what to me amounts to significant expense, I am in no great hurry to junk my Sonos Ones and shell out further hundreds to substitute Bluetooth. Does anyone out there have any idea how I can achieve what I need without starting all over again / breaking the bank in the process ? many thanks in anticipation !
Hola tengo un sonos amp y quiero saber si es normal que cuando este en función se caliente un poquito por la parte de arriba y en los lados?
Hi. My Sonos system consists of a Connect Amp wired up to non-Sonos speakers and a Play 1. Both have been working fine on the S2 app until a few weeks ago the app informed me that the Amp required a software update. The update didn’t work and I got a 1013 message. Since then I’ve tried all the different things suggested re. the 1013 message and spent an hour on the phone with Sonos trying to resolve it.I realise one possibility is that my Connect Amp is no longer supported by Sonos. However I don’t know this for sure - I’m not sure which “Gen” my Amp is. One of the things I tried, though, was to downgrade the Amp from S2 to S1. However when I did so the S1 app didn’t appear to be able to connect the Amp.I have now tried again with the S2 app. The system appears to recognise the Connect Amp. However now on my system the Connect is showing as “Not connected” but every time I try to resolve this all my app says is “All products seem available”. The Connect Amp is no longer showing as regi
Hello allI’ve recently purchased a second hand connect amp (2nd gen) along with two new sonos ceiling speakers to add to my existing kitchen set up (2 x ones and a sub). It appears the connect amp has to be in its own separate room and grouped with the kitchen - a bit annoying as they tend to ungroup themselves but I can live with it (is this the same with the latest amp?). After a short time of listening to the grouped system the wifi tends to drop out and I have to reset the router. This wasnt happening before i added the connect amp and it also tends to happen when i first use the speakers in the morning, so im pretty sure the connect amp is the cause. Does anyone have an idea why this might be? Hardwiring the connect amp to the router may be possible, will that help? Thanks in advance!
Hello and thank you in advance for your input. The title says it all: Can I use one Sonos Amp to power 2 in ceiling architectural speakers playing in stereo for one room, then use the same amp to power 4 in wall architectural speakers. Each one will be placed in a different room: one in wall speaker per room. THX 🙏🏼
Hi,I am looking at purchasing a Sonos Amp as well as 2 pairs of Sonos in-ceiling speakers. I want to use 2 ceiling speakers (1 pair) outdoors for outdoor entertainment, and the other 2 speakers (1 pair) in the lounge room for watching TV as well as listening to music, all connected into the one amp. I would like to be able to turn off the outdoor speakers while using the indoor ones and vice-versa. I have done some searching and found that a cost effective alternative (instead of buying another amp) is to buy an impedance matching switch. I don’t want a volume controlling switch just an on and off one is fine. Will this one do the job? Monoprice 4-Channel Speaker Selector https://amzn.asia/d/cQ6XXRsI would also like to know if I am still able to use all of the amps smart features, e.g volume control through the app, Trueplay, and connect another Sonos product such as the Arc Soundbar to the amp to play sound through ceiling speakers and sound-bar simultaneously If someone has any sli
Hi there, I have a Sonos Amp and Outdoor speaker setup. The Amp is in a lift space, and not that accessible. Everything works great through the Sonos app.I would like the option to play music through line in, without hardwiring to the Amp. I've seen a wireless transmitter (the type used for Subs/ surrounds) and wondered whether this would work? One receiver plugged into the Amp and the transmitter plugged into an iPad, for example?Any support or other ideas would be appreciated. The real desire is to play videos from YouTube through the Sonos speakers with no lag.Thanks,David.
Hi,I clearly don’t know much about speaker wire! Do I need 2 or 4 conductor wire for a future Sonos amp plus 4 Sonance outdoor speaker set up?Thanks for your help!

Good evening all,I have spent the last two days searching through the web hoping to nail down the best way forward, but find myself more confused than when I started 😂We currently have a Playbar, 2x One’s and a Sub set up as a 5.1.We are doing a renovation and have the opportunity to wire in ceiling and/or wall speakers, and wanted to work out the best way of doing so, with a nod to not breaking the bank completely!KitchenWe will have a large kitchen space, probably 12m x 5m for round numbers. Kitchen & island at one end, TV and sofa at the other.Thinking here is 1x Sonos Amp and 6x Sonance ceiling speakers. That would deliver good sound everywhere in the kitchen (although no 5.1 etc) especially for music, but also would work for the TV. Concern is that if the kids were watching TV and the adults were around the island, we’d have the TV blaring down on us. Would an option here be to add an extra Amp and have that drive 2 ceiling (or wall?) Sonance speakers by the TV, and then
I have a Connect: Amp S2 and it drops connection every few days. It’s about 10 feet from the Wifi access point. I’ve rebooted it a few times. Thanks for any help.
Hi, so I bought my first Sonos Amp for connecting my patio tv to two speakers. The speakers are wired to the utility room/ closet. The patio has two detected Ethernet wires behind the TV that also goes to the utility room/ closet. I am trying to send only audio from the TV through the Ethernet extender to the utility room/ closet to the Sonos Amp. I already connected my Sonos Amp to the speakers, and they are working great. It won’t be possible to run a long HDMI wire between the patio and the utility room/ closet.First, I tried to run optical from the TV to the extender and on the other side from the extender to the AMP through 1 RCA Male to 2 RCA Male Y Splitter Digital Stereo Audio Cable, but it didn’t work.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G5NQCK7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078Z6MC94/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Next, I tried to run an HDMI cable from the TV to the extender and on the other side fr
Hi there,I have an Amp, and 2 outdoor speakers, looking to expand to 4, possibly 6 in the future. The ideal placements for me are in plant boarders, I can get the right distance between speakers, and even set-up for the area. I appreciate they aren't ideally placed for audio perfection (not at ear level, but I've angled toward the listener). My question, will it harm the speakers having them sat on the ground (small gravel), rather than having them mounted? Thank you!
Hi, everyone. I am new to Sonos Amps and in-ceiling speakers, so please forgive my ignorance. We are currently working on turning our carriage house (separate structure, garage) into a home office. Inside the carriage house, we will have:4 Sonos in ceiling speakers running from: 1 Sonos amp (planned location: inside the carriage house)Also, we have a sport court outside of the carriage house where we are going to have:4 Sonos outdoor speakers wired to: 1 separate Sonos Amp (location could be inside our house or inside the carriage house)In the future we are planning to add the following to the inside our house:4 Sonos in ceiling speakers wired to: Another separate Sonos amp (planned location: inside our house)We will have two separate internet services through Comcast:One 200 mbps router in our home One 200 mbps router in the carriage separate We have underground low Voltage conduit running from our carriage house to our home. Our needs specifically will be to:Play music on just t
As the title said, can I set up two 3’rd party speakers and a Sonos Sub using the Ethernet connection, but not activating SonosNet?
Hi I have a fairly old Sonos set up and products consisting of a bridge, a beam gen 1, a play 1 and a play 3. Everything works perfectly fine at present but we are doing some work in the house and I am considering installing ceiling speakers in the kitchen. I have been looking at the Sonance speakers plus Sonos Amp for this. My understanding is that with the new Amp my bridge becomes redundant but that my play 1 and 3 won’t connect to it so potentially I need to update those. What about the beam ? Can’t it, does it have to connect to the Amp to make it work and is that possible. All products are well independent and have different purposes if that makes any difference with the beam used for tv sound, play 3 for living room and play 1 for kitchen (to be replaced by ceiling speakers). Any help advice would be most welcome as I am a bit lost.
