I have a simple setup with a Connect:amp, Sonos sub and two loudspeakers. Randomly the streamed music is cut out for 5 to 10 sec. The sound is not completely gone as you can hear low hz mumbling music. Most times the cut out is in the end of a song. The system is wired but the problem is the same in a wireless setup.Any suggestionsregards Niels
Trying to layout speakers for home theatre in new construction. Need to know how everything connects.I have never used Sonos. I’m old school AV receiver setup so trying to get my head around thisThis is what I was told for a 7.1 setup.Sonos soundbar connects to HDMI/ARC on tv.Will have 6 architectural speakers. Two in front, two on sides and two in rear. These will connect to Sonos Amp which will connect to Soundbar. I will have 1 Sonos subwoofer which will also connect to Soundbar.Questions I have.Is it ok to place Sonos Amp in a utility room and it will be able to communicate via network (wired) to Soundbar? How will the Amp know what the 6 speakers are? Meaning Front left/right, Side left/right, Rear left/right? Only 4 plugs on back of amp. Will sub connect to soundbar via wifi or do I need to connect to Amp thru Sub port?
Since a short time my Sonos connect 1, does not streaam correctly. It works with hickups. I changed the networkcable and assigned a unique IP adress, but it stays the same. Could I reset the device to solve this problem, or is the device broken?
Hi,I have a Sonos Connect connected to a Yamaha A-S501 amp, I also have a Sonos 5 series 1, the system is 5-7 years oldI orginally had Cabasse indoor speakers and Niles outdoor speakers, a few years ago the tweeter on one of the Cabasse speakers failed, I assume too much power so I upgraded to Klipsch speakers and more recently one of the woofers failed in the Niles. I have since purchased Sonance outdoor speakersWith volume control on both the AMP and the phone app is there a way to control the system so I don’t get too much power going through the speakers? I don’t want to blow up any more TIANigel
Hello, I’m trying to get to the bottom of an issue with one of my players dropping out audio, all others are perfect.Short Q: I have a Connect that is wired to a network switch and has frequent drop outs - can it choose to use wireless even though it has an ethernet cable in the back of it? Long Q:Sonos system made up of:Port - WiredConnect - WiredPlay 1 stereo Pair - WiredPlay 1 - Wired 2 x Play 1 - Not Wired No changes to my system for a few years, the last change I made was to replace an older ZP90 with a Port when S2 happened. Everything has been happy until the last couple of months, the Connect has been suffering drop outs - sometimes a second or 2 which it recovers from, sometimes it won’t even start.I’ve been on to Sonos support a couple of times and they have changed the WiFi channel on the Sonos system and changed the channel on my Virgin Hub 3 and turned off Auto Channel. This hasn’t fixed it (maybe it has helped, but hard to be sure as it’s an intermittent issue) and I have
I have an older Yamaha Audio Receiver and a couple of Boston Acoustic speakers I want to use for my office. Can I use an older S1 connect to plug into the receiver and run my music from Spotify. I am using S2 throughout the house to run all my other Sonos Gen 2 speakers. I would be listening to these 2 system separately. S1 for the home office and S2 for the house an outside.Long winded but will the S1 system work for the office setup?ThanksM
On the Sonos website https://support.sonos.com/de-de/products/connect il looks like the connect should support the S2 app.I have an existing S2 system on my network and the S2 app suggests setting up the connection which is green blinking. But when I press the option in the S2 App it tells me that I should downgrade to S1 to connect it with my system. What can I do to connect the Connect with my S2 system or am I misinterpreting the symbols on the Sonos website. Thanks
I have two Klipsch 8 ohm ceiling speakers. I have a Sonos amp but already have four non Sonos floor speakers connected to it. Is there a way to add the Klipsch speakers to the Sonos system? Thanks.
Hi, i am looking at upgrading my basement speaker set up. Currently only using (2) Costway Dual 10” 1600W powered controlled speakers mostly streaming through bluetooth. I am wondering how I can install (4) ceiling mount speakers that go to a sonos amp and then play with the existing 10” speakers. I’ve read about using the “line in” on the sonos amp to my speakers, would that connect all of them and play at the same time or is that too much on the sonos amp? The 10” speakers are currently plugged into a 110V outlet. Link to the speakers below. Appreciate any help!10" Speakers
Hi!I have seen this issue here multiple times, but I so far I did not found a solution:My new Sonos Amp does not switch to Sonos Net (wm 0). It always stays on wm 1. And causes then problems when beeing in the same group as the other, wm 0 devices - at least I think this is the reason why I have dropouts and unreachable sonos systems ;) As long as the Amp its on its own, every thing seems fine. So: Any idea about how I can convince the Amp to switch? WifI signal is ok there. But I am no Sonos Techi to know what else I can do/switch/toggle…
The only Sonos device I have is a Symfonisk.I want to buy a turntable, but can’t find how I can have it play on my Symfonisk.I’d rather not have to buy a 500$ device to ensure connectivity…Any simple solution? Thanks
Connect refuses to connect. Then after some minutes is does then fails again. My 3 sonos 1’s are fine. Not impacted. WTF
Looking at buying a Sonos Port to link with my old Technics stack HiFi system incorporating a Technics SU-X520D amplifier.Specifically wanting to do two things:1. Stream vinyl from my turntable which connects to the amp via phono sockets to my Sonos system (Arc soundboard with 2 SL1 surround speakers and 2 standalone Sonos One and 2 standalone SL1 speakers.2. Stream music from my computer via Airplay through the Technics system. My understanding of the advice in the posts in the Community is to hook up the tape deck Out / In jacks to the Port In /Out connections. That is fine, happy to do that, but as the tape deck is currently hooked up to the amp, I wondered if there were other possibilities? I have DAT Record Out sockets;VCR Out and In socketsVDP one set of (unspecified) sockets. There is also a set of External Out / In sockets, but these are currently hooked up to the Graphic Equaliser. In addition, there is an Auxiliary Digital-In socket which, presumably, I could connect to the Por
I bought a Sonos Port so I could play music though my KEF LS50s and Sonos Arc simultaneously. I was told before purchase that hardwiring the KEFS via RCA wires would work, but after spending 1.5 hours on the phone with tech support we couldn’t connect the KEFs to the Sonos App. We set the KEFS to auxillary, plus I tried all other settings afterwards, with no success. The Port is refurbished and I am wondering if that is the problem. The tech said that I needed to buy an optical converter since optical worked before with a Sonos Connect. A good converter costs more than 150.00 and I really want to see if I can avoid spending money on yet another purchase. What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? All advice welcome. Thanks!!!!
Why can't I connect a Sub over Wifi to a Sonos Amp and hear audio. The Sub needs to be located 25 metres from the Sonos amp which is in a rack with 11 other Amps all connected by ethernet. The support team tell me my Sub either needs to be close to the Amp (less than 15ft) or connected to my network by ethernet cable. If it will work connected by ethernet cable, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't also work over WiFi. Seems pretty poor to me. Disappointed.
Hi! The Sonos system at my parents house is giving them a lot of trouble. They have a fairly big system, consisting of two Play:1 zones, two One zones, two Connect:Amp zones, and one Playbar zone. Each zone consists of a standalone speaker, with no stereo pairing or Subs involved. In particular, the Connect:Amp devices are intermittently dropping audio for about 5 to 10 seconds at a time, several times a day. Sometimes the audio in these zones stop altogether and they need to power the devices off and on to get them working. The problem only exhibits itself when listening to live radio via BBC Sounds or TuneIn. They haven’t had any issues when listening to Spotify or Apple Music, but they mostly listen to live radio so they can’t say for sure whether other services would be impacted if they used them more often. They previously had a Sonosnet connection using a BOOST wired to their BT Smarthub 2 router and had similar issues. I switched them over to WiFi and it has made very little dif
So, I have a pair of klipsch aw650s, that I put up outside for summer time. Currently they are inside though, with Sonos AMP connected to the TV, sub, and sonos ones. In this room, right now, I have sub, two fives, two ones, and the klipsch speakers. While sub is good for tv, I want something better for music, I am thinking svs pb3000. I would like to sell the fives and sub, they aren't as loud as the klipsch and I like the sound of the klipsch better. With that said, I would like to get a third party amp, a port, and two new inside speakers. The speakers will be hooked up to the tv with AMP, and the new sub. But I want the port and new amp to power the outdoor speakers when they get hung back up outside. Or the inside speakers I don't really care. I have run wiring for an amp to power the speakers outside, through an exterior wall. I am looking for third party stuff, as $700 for AMP seems like a lot. Any suggestions on speakers to connect to AMP and the tv? And suggestions on an amp t
I want to connect a Sonos port to my existing AVR. I want what I'm watching on the home theater to be able to stream to my two other zones connected by Sonos amps. I also what whatever music I'm streaming in those zones to be able to play back in my home theater as well. So can I use the loop out on my AVR to connect to the inputs on the port and the Output on the port to plug into one of the inputs on the AVR?
I have a new Sony STR AN 1000 AVR with a “works with SONOS” designation. No matter what I do, I can’t get it to work with my SONOS Connect. Do I have to buy a $500 SONOS port to be able to turn on the receiver with the sonos app? Is it incompatible with the Connect or am I doing something wrong. If it won’t work with this older technology I’d like to know so I can stop beating my head against the wall...
im adding a port to existing system, my app see it and begins the add process, I enter the port pin and the blue join light never starts blinking and even pushing it anyway doesn't allow the process to move forward
My port can't get power. I've tried several different power cords and the port fails to light up. Any ideas on the source of the problem?
Hi all, I have 2 sonos ceiling speakers installed in the kitchen, these are hard wired to a sonos amp in which is upstairs in a cupboard. The amp works fine, good sound from the speakers when playing from my phone.I have tried to connect my external echo dot as the voice controller. When running through the app set up, it tells me I don't have any dealers registered to my sonos account. So I go into my account to assign the architectural ceiling speakers. The audio beep comes out of the speakers, but the app says 'sonos architecural speakers not detected.Without these speakers registered to my account, I can not enable the sonos skill on my Alex app. Therefore can not link the 2I spent an hour and 50 minutes on the phone last night to sonos help doing resets, trying work arounds and they concluded that it should work but doesn't.Is anyone familiar with such problems please?Thank you
Hello!Brand new Sonos user here. Quick question on the connection of my Port / two Era 100 speakers to a Sony Receiver I have. We recently converted a detached garage into a “party room” of sorts. We got two Era 100 speakers to use with a TV as well as Port to use with turntable, cassette deck, and CD player. I have TT, cassette deck, and CD player in a Sony STRDH190 receiver. I’ve connected the Port to the receiver and can get all records, tapes, and CDs to play in the Era 100 speakers. The volume can only be controlled through Sonos and I’ve tried various combinations of “Fixed” “Pass-Through” and “Variable” as recommended in other posts. It’s almost as if the receiver is just a big “switch box” now letting me select between inputs but not impacting the sound in anyway. My question is have I set it up incorrectly? I would like to have the receiver be able to control the volume / tone as well. I feel like what I’m hoping for is impossible or I’m missing some very easy step! The curr
I have a Sonos Connect connected to my hi fi amplifier. Unfortunately when I am listening to BBC radio it keeps cutting out.I have now connected it to a wifi extender with an ethernet cable, but the problem is still there. I monitor the wifi extender which always has a good connectionto the main router. The signal from the extender is always strong (no problems with anything else connecting to it).The only connection problem is the Sonos Connect and nearly always when listening to BBC radio. Is there a compatibility problemwith Sonos and BBC radio? Is my Sonos Connect defective? But why only with BBC radio?I hope you know what’s wrong because this is extremely frustrating. I was looking forward to New Year concert from Vienna on BBC Radio 3but is impossible to listen to with constant drop outs.
Hi I have a pair of Sonos Era 100 and a pair of Sonos Era 300 speakers. Both pairs are used to play records via Bluetooth to my Sony Bluetooth turntable.Since upgrading to version 15.10, both of my speaker sets are able to pair up to my Bluetooth turntable, but I am getting no sound.I have unpaired and re-paired both sets several times, but to no avail.I am able to pair up my phone to them over Bluetooth and play music no problem.Anyone else got the same issue? Can anyone suggest anything?Kind RegardsMartin
