I’ve had one SONOS Amp running two 8 ohm speakers for years with no issue.I just purchased a second Amp so I could run another pair of 8 ohm speakers to a different area of my back yard. I connected everything today, and the new amp will play for about 10 seconds then I will hear a loud pop. The amp then flashed white and either orange or red (hard for me to tell the difference).I tried connecting my old Amp to the new speakers and it works fine. I connected the new Amp to the existing speakers and had the same pop.I’ve tried different variations between the different sets of speakers and the new Amp keeps popping. What else can I check? Is this new Amp bad? Thanks -Ron
Sonos customer service is one of the worst I have experience. I don't know what has cause the decline .I have had issues 6 weeks with my sonos amp and outdoor architectural speakers.Anytime I try to call it's min 60 mins hold. Then I spent 2 hrs trouble shouting. They replaced the amp. Took 2 week to get this and still didnt fix it. Had to call again 80 min hold this time. Spent another 2 hours on the phone and was told it's the speakers and I should never been told it was an amp issue. It's been 2 weeks since this call. After a week of failed attempts to use rhe advance option to ship new replacement speakers I am now told that the 5 business days shipping is change to 6 weeks. They don't care about customers. I have spent over 10,000$ on Sonos products and I am beginning to regret this because of the terrible after service
Line out to Sonos 5 gen 1/ and Yamaha tuner tuner is connected to components cd /phono/turntable tape deckall components are working properly but doesn’t play through speakers it did but not now please advise
I’m confused about how the Sonos Amp handles line-in for a 2x Amp setup for 4.1 Surround. I have it plugged in and it works, but I don't see the source level in the new app. Customer support says that both Amps line-in are disabled, but I thought it was just the Amp that is powering the surrounds. Does the source level appear in the old app? It doesn’t appear now.
So the ZP-80 sounds clean and if it comes on can play well for an hour or after few minutes will drop out for half a second every few seconds way about 10 times and then go silent. Might stay silent for a very long time and randomly jolt in a few seconds and then gone again. Sometimes it fades away quickly but less often. Rapid wiggling of the App volume can sometimes make it start to work whilst the volume is being agitated but stops and indeed fades away as soon as you stop doing that.Loud gain doesn’t improve anything or jar it into working and it doesn’t behave like dry joints. I have read through forum topics and have done a hard reset on the ZP-80. Turned off the router and all devices and then turned the router on first and the Sonos’ afterwards. Have altered MAC addresses and DNS of nearby Xbox. Not getting anywhere. A 2nd ZP-80 plays mostly fine. 4 other Sonos devices are solid. ZP-80 was 1m away from the router through a wall. Moved it 3m away to try proximity issue
Where can I get Sonos Amp repaired in Mumbai. It has gone DEAD.Suddenly does not turn on.
Hello everyoneA couple of days ago I received my new Sonos Amp, I already installed it on my old TV via HDMI ARC (Samsung 55MU6103) and configured it with the Sonos App, the App did recognize the HDMI port and listen to the sound it gives. The problemThe problem is that the audio from the TV cannot be heard on the Amp (whether I changed the HDMI cable, disconnected other HDMI devices from the TV, or set the sound to PCM) and it still cannot be heard. The funny thing is that by connecting my Sonos Beam to that same HDMI cable and the same TV without modifying anything, the Beam can be heard, I don't know what else to do with the AmpThe online input of the Sonos Amp works perfectly as well as sending music via WIFI from the Sonos app
I woke up this morning to play some music in my office, and the Port wasn’t responding. In fact, it’s not even present in the app, and upon inspection, the front status light wasn’t on, even though it was connected to power. Changing to a known good power outlet, still nothing. No lights on the front or on the back. Attempted reset by holding down the infinity button and plugging it back in, nothing.Seems it just died on its own for whatever reason? I’d love to contact support but that’s not an option anymore apparently. Device is from February this year.
Hi! I have a Sonos Port connected via ethernet cable, an older 2nd gen Sonos Connect, connected via ethernet cable (and wireless?), two Sonos Play 1 speakers (as a stereo pair) connected via wifi. I had everything setup and working on my network as described above. For the Connect, I had set it up on wifi and then later plugged in an ethernet cable to it. I don’t think I ever did anything to the config after plugging in the cable. Then, I replaced all of my networking equipment - routers, switches and APs. All new IP address and wifi SSIDs and passwords. I didn’t make any changes to the Sonos devices, yet all were found by the app and are working perfectly. I can understand why the Port and Connect would do this - since my phone and computer are on the same network, but how did the Play 1 stereo pair move to the new network?? I never intervened to change the SSID / password on them. Just curious how this happened? My router sees all the devices and has assigned them DHCP addresses as f
The new Sonos app installed on 5/08/24 is absolute garbage. Garbage defined:1 - when the app launches it is unable to connect to the home system I've been running for 9 years.2 - to connect to the existing home system, I'm forced to logout, login 2x to actually connect.3 - rebooting the Sonos home system doesn't resolve the above.4 - reinstalling the Sonos app does not change the experience above I'm working from a Pixel 8 Pro for any pixel users out there.Sonos engineering team: you are slippin. Hello -- I’ve got a Sonos system with a port, a playbar, and 4 individual Sonos speakers. The port is connected to a receiver so I can play Sonos content over speakers, and also to a CD player. The playbar is connected to the t.v., and I can play t.v. audio through both the playbar and the speakers if I choose.I’ve got a 2nd receiver, and a 2nd pair of speakers I’ll be setting up in another room. Is there any way for me to connect this 2nd group to my overall Sonos system?cheers, Cheryl
Why does the Works with Sonos capability for my Receivers require that my Sonos Port has to be on Wi-Fi only vs Ethernet? If the Port is plugged into Ethernet on the same network/subnet (i.e. into switches that are going to the same router as the WiFi signal but hardwired instead of on wi-fi) My Pioneer and Onkyo receivers - both of which have Works with Sonos capability - don’t find the Sonos Port. The feature only seems to work if i unplug the hardwire and let the Port connect via WiFi only. Mind you regardless of ethernet or wifi the Ports are getting a 192.168.0.xxx address - so it shouldn’t make a difference unless the Works with Sonos is dependent on some WiFi-Direct or AirPlay style capability. I would ideally like to run my Sonos Ports off their ethernet connection but this dependency prevents that. Feels like a bug in the implementation.
I purchased a Crown cdi4000 amp to use for an outdoor 70v speaker setup. (link). Apologies if this is a basic question, but was wondering if anyone has ever set one of these up with a port and had advice for how to do so? I’m wondering:Can I get a single RCA to Phoenix connector like this one, hook it to the digital port on the Sonos and then run it to a single channel on the amp? Or do I need two of those - one for each analog channel - to hook up to the two channels on the amp. (in which case I’d use the bridge output to bridge the channels together)Any advice? Thanks in advance!
I have hard wired speakers using Sonos Amp hard wired through a netgear switch. My house is wired in every room to this router centrally. The music cuts out for up to 10 seconds at a time often enough to become a big problem. I have already disabled WiFi and rebooted my hardware including the amp's.
Sonos app says my Sonos Connect needs updating but update fails every time I try. Errors 30 and 1013. Tried connecting via ethernet to router, still no luck. Won’t allow use in the meantime..Anyone else have this problem?
I’m experimenting with removing my Boost from my system and running on my home Wi-Fi network. When I take out the Boost and restart my components the app no longer recognizes my system. Is this normal? Must I set up my system again as if it’s a new system?
HiI have a Connect Gen 2 which I'm trying to upgrade for use in the Sonos 2 app. The app finds the Connect and I follow the on screen instructions. It gets to a stage where the app says "Press the button with the flashing light", in the app this looks like it should be the play/pause button but the buttons on my Connect do not have lights. How do I get past this stage please. Thanks John
I was recently gifted the Sonos Amp, which I have the option to return. The idea behind the gift was that it would enable me to play my vinyls through my current Sonos setup. For context, I currently have an old Technics SL1200 (no phono preamp) that I’ve never used, and an existing surround sound system comprised of the Arc, Sub and two Ones that I use with my TV and for music. I also have an OPPO UDP-205 4K Audiophile bluray player with a built-in DAC. I’ve been told it can be used as a preamp—not sure how good it’d be for that though. How can I integrate the Technics TT into my system? As I’ve no plans to get passive speakers in the near future, is the Amp redundant? I’m also open to purchasing additional products if it would mean a significantly better listening experience.
I have 2x AMPs. Both disconnect from my network if I attached ethernet. I am also unable to switch wifi off. It fails if the ethernet is not attached but the device detaches if I connect ethernet. I have watched pings fail when the ethernet attached then restart when it is disconnected. The wired network is work for 20+ other devices so does not appear to be an issue. Both Amps work fine on wifi. Any suggestions as I would like to switch to a wired network.
I have a Marantz PM7000N amplifier with a Marantz CD6007 (CD player) and Pro-Ject Debut turntable connected to the amp using RCA cables to the respective audio in’s. I have a Sonos Port connected to the amp using the recorder out RCA and then to the Port line in RCA. The Port is streaming music to a stereo ERA 300 setup wirelessly. All works well playing music from turntable, CD player and Internet radio using the amps source for each device. The issue is, I cannot control the volume to the speakers using the amps remote control. The volume indicator goes up and down on the amp when using the Marantz remote but it does not alter the volume to the speakers. The only way I can control the volume to the speakers is from within the Sonos S2 app. Within the Sonos app I have the line out level set to ‘FIXED’. I have tried ‘VARIABLE’ and ‘PASS THROUGH’ on the line out level as well,l but i still cannot control the speaker volume using the amp. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.
I have three outdoor speakers (Sonos by sonance) running to a Sonos connect:ampIt’s not getting enough power because of hardware. I have a second identical amp. Is it possible to bridge them together. Thanks
I have a large, open space, living and kitchen area with 6 Sonos Architectural ceiling speakers connected to a Sonos Amp. I’m curious how some would recommend I wire them for the best sound. The room is a large rectangle. With L being the left channel and R being right, what would you do?LLLRRR orLRLRLR
Hi,Since the new app update I am no longer able to control my 3rd party subwoofer connected to my sonos amp. The menu seems to just have vanished from the new app (see attached image). Needless to say, ability to control the sub from the app and to adjust crossover was one of the main reasons I bought the amp. Will this be fixed?
Can I add 2 of these sets (sub + 2 rock speakers) to only 1 Amp and is it possible to keep 1 set as just a left channel and the other set as the right channel
Hi, Some days ago I managed to upgrade my system with the S1 controller to the new Sonos app. I bought a sub mini and 2 Sonos One 2nd Gen. I have been trying to add them to my existing Sonos system but when it has finished and needs to update, it is not working (even being connected with an ethernet cable). I have tried everything I have read here: rebooting router, switching off every single product, reseting the app. Try in other devices… disconnecting everything and connecting only the speakers not updating (but then the system does not reconognise them). Then connect everything back and again I can see them on the system (with the label: not registered)... Then I reset both and tried to connect the sub mini. It worked!! It did the updating properly (wireless) and it is working correctly. However, I have tried again the 2 Sonos One and still get the same errors. Sometimes is 1002 and most of the time is 1000. Anyone can help? Thank you very much.
