Hi!
I have a Sonos Port connected via ethernet cable, an older 2nd gen Sonos Connect, connected via ethernet cable (and wireless?), two Sonos Play 1 speakers (as a stereo pair) connected via wifi.
I had everything setup and working on my network as described above. For the Connect, I had set it up on wifi and then later plugged in an ethernet cable to it. I don’t think I ever did anything to the config after plugging in the cable.
Then, I replaced all of my networking equipment - routers, switches and APs. All new IP address and wifi SSIDs and passwords.
I didn’t make any changes to the Sonos devices, yet all were found by the app and are working perfectly. I can understand why the Port and Connect would do this - since my phone and computer are on the same network, but how did the Play 1 stereo pair move to the new network?? I never intervened to change the SSID / password on them.
Just curious how this happened? My router sees all the devices and has assigned them DHCP addresses as far as I can tell...but they are all discovered on switch ports and none are connected to any AP...which makes sense I guess since I never gave any devices the new SSID and password info.
Anyone know how this all happened??
