I know there are a lot of questions regarding the system losing connection, but I believe I have a different situation than those I’ve seen described. My system often can’t be found on my Android phone. Sometimes I can play an album, and while it continues to play (off of my NAS) I am unable to get back in to change albums - the system is not found. However, my wife, who uses an iphone, remains connected without issue. We can be in the same room and I get a message that the Sonos system can’t be found and from her phone everything works perfectly.
New issue surfaced with Iphone 7, when trying to connect to Sonos (which has been fine for years) the app says it cannot find the device on our wifi. The Sonos system is fine on the same wifi system on multiple others phones, tablets, computers etc. I have reinstalled the app, rebooted the phone, rebooted the Sonos system to no avail.
I am running SonosNet and has a Boost hardwired to my router. To my understanding, the Boost creates a mesh network (together with all the speakers - I have speakers in 4 rooms). In the most remote room, the connection is poor with some dropouts. Would yet another Boost half way between the remote room and the existing Boost help? The new Boost cannot be hardwired.
I have two Fives, paired in stereo. The bass output is less than my Sonos One. Or my Move. I have tried it with the following configuration:paired as stereo not paired as stereo after utilizing TruePlay after turning off TruePlay With Spotify With a line-in turntable With TuneIn Radio And yes, I also manually adjusted the EQ bass setting to +10. I am seriously underwhelmed. My One and Move (and Play: 1) all have a richer sound, bass, etc. For reference, I’m not listening to ‘bass heavy’ tracks, mostly just jazz, but when i do put on Outkast for example, no bump. When I have these Fives grouped to my Move, the move is putting out considerably more bass on the same track at the same time. What gives?
I’ve just upgraded router to handle 1gb service and now sonos app won’t keep connected to system. I originally tried to update WiFi name/password but when that seemed to fail I tried multiple times to just reset everything and reinstall system from scratch. It works fine for a bit but once we turn off music then go back to it later the system is gone again. Meanwhile Alexa app still sees everything fine and can control speakers. this is diagnostics if it helps: 1789496550 Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Been trying things all day and this is driving me mad.I have the Sonos arc hooked up to the LG via the HDMI Arc. I also have a 1TB Sky Q box.The issue is around the Sky Q sound. In the audio visual settings, the sound for Digital audio optical HDMI sounds better on original vs Dolby Digital. Much fuller and I can’t quite work out why! Thought it would be the other way around and I’ve tried on a bunch of HD channels.LG Tv settings are as follows;DTV Audio Setting - AutoHDMI 4 - BitstreamDigital Sound Out - Pass ThrougheARC - ONAm I missing something or got something wrong? Any ideas?
Hi I have had a P5 / 2 for a while now and have been able to stream the TV audio via my AppleTV, after what I suspect is an update of the AppleTv to version 14.2 I can no longer select it as outgoing audio in the AppleTv.Can anyone answer if Play: 5 gen2 is compatible with Apple's version?
I have a wired Sonos S1 system. Four of the speakers are controlled through home theatre components. My Sonos network audio receiver stopped working and the green and amber lights in the back of the box are constantly flashing. I unplug and it from the wall and back of the box and press the mute button and plug it back it, but still no change. Obviously no sound through those four speakers. Can I get it fixed? If I upgrade to S2, do I have to upgrade all of my amps to S2? OK, after reading some other related posts, here’s what I can offer….I changed my router a few months back...I see that I might be able to connect the audio receiver directly to the router using an ethernet cable….but there are no empty slots…..sorry, I’m a novice at this....
Often when I attempt an Alexa command in this particular room, I get a response from another speaker much farther away. Upon checking the closer speaker, I find the mic light is not lit. I can turn it back on with my finger and all is well...until the next time I find it off again. Yes...Alexa is enabled.
11/25/20 - Sirius XM is no longer available on my Sonos. This happens every month it disappears and then reappears. Why? This is so annoying. It says unable to browse music.
Hi,I’m having a lot of trouble connecting since I replaced my wifi with a nether Nighthawk setup. Sonos devices are close to the access points but routinely disconnect. Is it because I have satellites? My diagnostics number is: 794615252
I have 8 Sonos players in my house (all Controller 2). Everything has been perfect for many months. However, things have been acting strange the last week or so. A couple of players will show in some controllers and not others. I can ask Alexa to play from that player, and it works without any interruption. The player will show up after reboot, but then drop off a few minutes later. I tried many reboots, then I did the nuclear option -- unplugged all 8 players, rebooted my router, plugged everything in one at a time. Even did a factory reset on a couple of the players that drop off the most. Same issue…I confirmed with my router (Unifi USG) that the players all have a reserved IP and their signal is > 95%. I’m using wireless all around. There is little noise in my area.Other strange on is that some controllers will show all, others will show all but one player, still others will show all but 2-3 players. All players will play fine if I ask Alexa to play, but I can’t use the controll
I have two rooms in my home set up with Playbars and surrounds wired to a Connect:Amp. For three years, no issues and we love the SONOS system. Recently, in our basement, the TV remote is only read by the Playbar when I'm within about 5-feet of the IR sensor on the Playbar. I have set up three remotes, and the issue is the same with all. I've swapped out old batteries for new without success. I've tried lights on/off with no success. I've cleaned the IR sensor without success. All connected speakers (wired and wireless surrounds, sub) work when I'm close to the sensor. At a loss. Only thing I can think to try is unplugging it (which means that will be the first suggestion that I receive no doubt!) because the outlet is difficult to access. Thanks in advance for any help.
Today (as usual) I started up my Spotify on my Mac and it could only see one out of three Sonos speakers. So I fired up the Sonos app and it can’t see any of them. I restarted the speaker (“office”) in question, rebooted my Mac twice, restarted the router, no luck. So then I tried my iPhone, same story. But it did get an update to iOS 14.2 last night. So I went to the Sonos support site and saw that I had to change a privacy setting, which I did and that solved the problem on my iPhone. But not my Mac. Does anyone have an idea of why my Mac/Sonos can’t see the speakers? The error message is “Sorry, we can’t connect to Sonos. BTW, Spotify can see one of the three speakers. If I go into Spotify on my iPhone and select my office speaker, and then go back to Spotify on my mac, it is now listed there. Weird.
Hi,First some info to better explain the situation: in total we have 5 Sonos One devices and 1 Sonos Play:5 device. On one Sonos One device I recently noticed that sometimes it just stops playing music or skips to another track. I already tried over WiFi and also connected via ethernet cable. On both options the same problem occured. I also tried changing the WiFi channel in the system setup (1, 6 and 11)It is also not music service dependant. I have the same issue when playing from Spotify as well as playing from Apple Music. Playing music over Airplay (Apple Music on iPhone) does not have the problem.Because I tried both cable and WiFi I do not think this can be related to my network. Also because playing over Airplay has no issues. A reset of the device was no success either. The strange part is: When I combine this specific Sonos One to play with any other Sonos device in my setup it keeps playing without any interruption or skipping issues.Soemtimes it also says that cannot make any
Hi, I own a sonos beam. On my iphone app i can see an available firmware update. When i try to update i get error 49. I have tried first rebooting the beam and then also tried doing a factory reset. However, both did not work. My sonos 2 app is latest - no pending app update. Please advise. Thanks Varun
Why won’t Sonos comment directly to this forum or by their app or email and discuss the Arc audio issue and why the new iPhone 12 can’t do true play? And no generic answer please. Something would be better than nothing. It just leaves their clients( us) frustrated and mad. What say you Sonos?
Hi. The sonos sound is very muffled and there is a lot of interference. I have not added anything that would make this change. I have had my sonos system (connected to Control4) for many years. I have updated my software as well. I submitted my diagnostics (Confirmation number 380458056)
Hey folks! At home I use a Sonos device to play Spotify through. I sometimes use the Sonos app to start playback and search songs. This all worked fine, but now the right search results aren’t coming up through Spotify on the Sonos app. An example: I’m looking for Can’t Pretend by Tom Odell on my Spotify app and I get these results: Now I’ll try the same through Sonos: and when using the artist as well: Things I’ve tried so far:- Reinstalling the Sonos app- Restarting the Sonos speaker and my phone- Using my laptop to search this track- Factory resetting the Sonos system Hopefully you guys have some other troubleshooting steps or can confirm that this issue! Thanks for taking a look,Huib 🙂
Hi!Could you please tell me why my network failed when I plug in the ethernet cable? Without cable it works fine. But I want to use a cable connection because the access point is too far.

My router has a Primary Network and a Guest Network. My Sonos system is on the Primary Network. Is it possible to setup Sonos to be on BOTH my Primary and my Guest network?

I have a boost in the corner of the bedroom - and the status light is surprisingly bright. So I have used the system settings to turn it off. Great for a number of weeks, then it comes back on again. The system settings shows that it should be off. Happened several times, and also on another boost I have.Anyone else come across this? Wondering if updates may cause it to happen? Also use Alexa, maybe updates to that cause the device to reset? Puzzling and a minor nuisance
