Hi,For some reason the last time I posted this question it was set as answered - however I did not set it as answered.I have been using Spotify connect for over 4 years now. About 3 months ago it stopped playing Spotify. I can start a song, however 5 seconds later it stops. If I turn the volume up or down it works for another 5 seconds. I have updated the software on all devices. The connect is wired (therefore is not a network issue). All other streaming apps work fine, it is just Spotify that doesn’t work - which is frankly the only streaming service that should work. please help - this is driving me crazy. feedback on the first post GuitarSuperstar Try the troubleshooting tips in this article:https://support.sonos.com/s/article/305?language=en_US Hi GuitarSuperstar, Thank you for sending through the article. I had found it previously and worked through each of steps meticulously to no avail. I tested my friends Sonos amp and it works perfectly with Spotify on the same netwo
HelloJust bought the Beam Gen 2 and connected it to my PC sound card/DAC using the optical adaptor. If the sound card is set to SPDIF 2.1 then I can control the volume of my Beam using Windows 10.If I set the sound card to 5.1 dolby then I cannot control the volume using Windows, only the Sonos App lets me change the volume. Why is this? What’s preventing Windows from controlling the volume whilst playing back DD 5.1?Is there any alternative?Thank you.
I’ve had Sonos for years and the performance over the past week has degraded to make it nearly unusable. I listen almost exclusively to spotify and my music library. Spotify has recently begun returning a number of errors that result in skipped tracks. “not encoded correctly” or “the connection to spotify was lost.”I’m running a Play:3, Play:1, One, and Roam all through a Boost. I’ve tried switching the Sonos channel from 11 to 1. I even factory reset my wifi setup last night and created a new network name. The issue has persisted and is very frustrating.I ran a diagnostic, #227227461 Any help you can give would be appreciated.
HiThis is a bit long but; if you continue reading, it may save you headaches with Sonos and get you back online “with a quickness" given a similar situation. Note: My Sonos is in wired mode via Boost module. This is just a one-off solution that may save you time prior to rebooting router (which can have consequences for other internet dependent devices in your home) and/or unplugging all Sonos. It does not circumvent other tried and true solutions already presented in this community. While listening to SiriusXM (Room/Speakers) via Sonos Amp with Sub and Def Tech speakers all went silent! First thought was to open the Sonos App (S2) on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and restart the stream. To my surprise my system could not be found???I’m not one to immediately start unplugging speakers and re-booting router. So I checked the LED status lights on all my Sonos equipment and they were all White. I was even able to command Alexa; via another speaker, to start SiruisXM stream to the Room/Speakers.I the
When I’m connecting to the Sonos Move using Airplay through the Apple Music app (using an Iphone 13 Pro), the sound is very choppy and sometimes stops playing altogether. When I try streaming YouTube to the Move through the same iPhone, the same exact thing happens. I’ve tried factory re-setting the speaker twice and it still does the same thing! I’ve also reset my router multiple time. Any suggestions would greatly help!
I saw this topic:...that wasn’t exactly easy reading for me. I’m sure like a lot of people in the community I have invested a lot into Sonos around the home and have also re-invested with the new S2 range replacing older S1 appliances. This is now complete. For my shower-room, I have installed 2x Monitor Audio Controlled Performance CT380s. With all of the hard surfaces in there, there’s probably almost as much room sound as their is source sound. This is leading to bass boom, particularly an upper-bass harshness. My attempts to control via loudness and bass settings tempered the situation but it’s still far from perfect. This has been made all the worse because the Sonos Connect Amp before did not assert these issues and I could find a nice balance in this room using the simple attenuation provided far more easily. I selected these Controlled Performance speakers because they can deliver quite a punch when necessary. I have even bi-wired the cabling to ensure there are no curr
I have a Youtube Music premium account that is distinct from the Google account I use for my Android phone. I can see Youtube Music content (playlists, etc) when adding it as a service to the Sonos S1 app using my Google account but not when using the Youtube Music account (“No selections available”). As far as I know, neither account is a brand account.I don’t see the logic behind this and would be very grateful for suggestions how to solve this issue.
My Move has recently become very unreliable. When I’m using it on the balcony it drops out pretty regularly, however this never seems to happen with my Roam. This evening I was using it in the kitchen, grouped with a play 1 and it just … stopped playing music. According to the app it was still playing and still grouped, but I had no sound. I tried to ungroup it (planning to then re add it) but the app did not respond. I tried holding the play button to group it but it just ‘dinged’ and then flashed orange! My Sonos app says everything is up to date. I have a linksys velop mesh system that is regularly updated / restarted etc and currently all up to date too, and sonosnet as one speaker is wired in. All speakers except the move and roam are WM0, the portables are WM1. The MAC address for all Sonos items are reserved too. I am wondering if the balcony issue is because the Move is usually connected to a further away velop node (close to where it lives indoors) which might explain the dif
I picked up an IKEA symfonisk bookshelf speaker today and set it up. No issues with WiFi connectivity, apps on Android, iOS and Windows all working. Was able to add TuneIn radio and CBC Radio servies. The only snag is I don’t seem to be able to add some of the other music services I use, including Spotify, Amazon Music or SiriusXM. They don’t even appear in the list! Here is a screenshot of where I would expect Spotify to appear on the Windows app. Same thing on the other apps. Am I doing something wrong? I’ve tried cycling the power on the unit multiple times.
I have a Sonos playbar from 2020, just looking at possible upgrades and it’s saying I’ve upgraded it already. I haven’t purchased any Sono products recently and still using the playbar.Any ideas on this?
So I’ve crafted a wonderful playlist over 3 years by using shazam on my travels, finding ambient this or that, airport lounges, hotel lounges… my home used to be bathed in a wonderful mix of ambient / downtempo / jazz ……… and now all of a sudden every track in my poolside playlist isn’t encoded correctly. yeah, I’m using amazon, and yeah I guess its amazons fault. but seriously. my googling led me to the fact that exporting playlists has been a feature request forever, and the main app can’t do it. Instead i gotta get an apple device to use some dudes hacky app… i expect different from a product that I’ve dumped over $1k into. Not have to search through github repos .. i mean jesus. Costco might be getting them back. hooray costco. unless anybody has another way.
I had a brief power outage yesterday. When it came back, all of my playlists now say that the songs can’t play because they are not encoded properly. I have rebooted the modem, router, and Sonos arc several times with no luck. Are there any fixes? It would take me days to delete and replace these lists. Would greatly appreciate any advice! Note: All songs are from Amazon Music.

I have a Sony TV, Playbar connected to TV via optical, Sub, Amp and two in-ceiling speakers. I have a Boost wired to my router (Netgear Nighthawk RAX45)When I turn on the TV (via Harmony) I initially get sound, but then the Amp light turns green and mutes the sound and the Amp light turns white. If I go to that room it says nothing playing. If I go to Browse and select TV the volume comes back on.Have tried rebooting the router, Amp and Playbar.Any suggestions??
I have a Samsung 65MU6100 4K TV, with Sonos Arc, sub and two Sonos One’s and a new Apple 4K TV box.If I connect the Apple TV direct to the TV I have no problems with anything. All apps work well including Netflix. As my TV will only handle Dolby Digital Plus I also have an Arcana. When I connect the Apple TV through the Arcana all apps work (Disney, Neon etc) well apart from Netflix – every time I scroll to different shows, or try to stream something, the screen goes black and have no sound for a second or so – very annoying.I have looked on many forums to find a solution but nothing suggested has worked (resets etc).I have made sure all the display settings on the Apple TV unit are the same whether connected directly to the TV or through the Arcana. The only things different is through the Arcana the audio is set to Dolby Atmos.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I see this is a recurring and persistent issue here, so joining the chorus of users who are having issues streaming SiriusXM radio via my Sonos system. I can usually connect and SiriusXM will play for an hour (if I’m lucky; it often cuts out much sooner) before the stream drops. Once the stream dies I get the “song not encoded correctly” error which makes no sense. I can usually restart the stream after waiting for 5–10 minutes.I have worked with support multiple times and tried all of the “fixes” spending hours on the phone. Ultimately they said it must be my wifi, even though that mode no sense, so I upgraded my wifi and the problem still happens every 20-30 minutes and ONLY with Sirius. SiriusXM is my favorite provider and I am desperately seeking a solution.
Hello All — I have researched and read all of the material on Sonos + Pioneer Elite. I have a minor twist on what appears to be a common prob and could use some expertise. I’m trusting this is a no judging zone. :)My Pioneer plasma is a PRO-150FD, older than dirt but beautiful. I use a Roku stick on HDMI and until recently a Playbar connected via optical cable. I moved the entire setup to a new room and cannot get optical connected with the original or a new optical cable. I have tested the speaker in other rooms and it works with different setups. Could the optical cable port have gone bad? Is it worthwhile to try a port switcher with digital audio outputs?I’m hoping the answer to the last question is yes, and if so, can you help me with the setup? While a simple setup, this doesn’t come easily to me. I have spent hours on the phone with sonos and they determined that the plasma is not receiving the optical audio signal. I’m looking for a way to save the TV AND the playbar I would
I have four fixed speakers and a Roam. The wi-fi in the house is a mesh network (BT WholeHome). In wireless mode I suffer frequent audio cut-outs with the message “your wi-fi network is unstable”.To fix this, I switched to wired mode by plugging ethernet from my router into one speaker. For a while this worked much better, but today I noticed that all my speakers except the one directly connected to the router are back in wireless mode (appear as WM: 1 in ‘about my system’). I have tried rebooting all the speakers, the router, and removing and then plugging back in the ethernet connection but the speakers will not switch to wired mode. The speaker connected via ethernet shows as WM: 0. (I realise that the Roam will have to stay in wireless mode)
I am profoundly disappointed that my Play 5 is no longer any use - a paper weight as others have now termed.I write to see if SONOS have come up with an answer yet. This is a very expensive paper weight, and is now not fit for purpose, nor is there anywhere that states it would be subject to be upgraded so it becomes inoperative. Is there any fix for this please?
Sonos Speaker works fine when at the main office, if Sonos Speaker is on a satellite office, speaker won't connect to controller or vice versa. Same SSID
Hi, I have a Sonos beam paired with two play1s in my living room and when listening to TV, works without issue. However, when I try to pair my Move or other play1s in other rooms, these other speakers skip very heavily, while the main living room 5.0 system still works perfectly...it’s just all other speakers where I get the issue. However when I stream any music, there’s no issue - it’s 100% isolated to the tv audio. This is a recent development, maybe within the last couple of months. I have used it for a couple of years without this issue until recently. Any help is appreciated.
Similar to this post, when I restart my wifi access point (AP), none of my Sonos speakers automatically reconnect. Basically no rooms show up in the app. I need to pull the power on each one, plug it back in, and then it comes back online. Submitted diagnostics: 1682414447Network info: Unifi USG, Unifi APs. I found that the issue was much worse when my Sonos devices were set up on my main wifi network (that spans multiple APs on a single SSID), constantly cutting out. Now that I’ve moved them to an SSID that sits on a single AP, it only drops without recovering like this when that AP does it’s routine updates/restarts.
Hi. I am looking to fix something going on with my setup.I have a PC attached to a TV attached to the Sonos. When I click on Living Room and group everything else (Some One’s and a 5 in individual groups)They will all group together and everything works great. The problem is when I, say, pause a video or stop playing audio on the Sonos. I’m not sure how long but after a while the grouping will stop. When this happens what it looks like in the Sonos app is instead of everything in one group with dark shading on it what you see is Living Room with no dark shading over it and then everything else grouped with the dark shading. I have to click on Living Room and group again to get it back to working. How can I fix this? Thanks!
I have an Amp, with two surround speakers, a Playbar and Sub connected to my TVWhen I first turn on the TV I get sound and a momentary green light on the Amp, then the light turns white and the sound stops. I can sometimes get the sound back by rebooting the Amp. Any thoughts?
I have a Sonos one an Apple Music connection. When I ask Alexa to play a song or to play an artist she says “I cant find songs by artist or the name of the song” on Apple Music. I also have an echo input and with exactly the same question it can play the item requested. The Sonos One does seem to be able to find and play my Apple Music playlists. I spent about an hour chat session with a very helpful Sonos Representative who had me disable Apple Music and reenable it and Sonos as well but no success. Has anyone struck a similar problem and managed to resolve it. if I ask the echo to play a song on my Sonos one that works
