Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Hi, Is it possible to connect the audio from my fire tv stick to my sonos via an echo dot? Seems like we're close but I have not figured it out. What I can do: 1. I can push the sound from fire stick to echo dot. 2. I can instruct echo dot to play music (Pandora, spotify etc.) on my sonos Now is there a way to daisy chain all this together?

Can anybody tell me why Alexa doesn't recognise I Heart Radio NZ stations even though I have favourites saved? It keeps going to US stations. Is this not available in New Zealand yet? Thanks.

I already know how to control Sonos with Alexa. But I want the Alexa speaker to group together with the rest of Sonos speakers. Is it possible?

Alexa will not discover my Playbase as a device. It is in the Sonus App in the TV room. I can play music from the Sonus app on the playbase. But Alexa will not play on the Playbase saying there is no such device. I have even set p multiroom on Alexa.

I have 6 Sonos Play 1 speakers in my house, and purchased an Echo Dot to enable Alexa with my speakers. Here are my initial impressions of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly": ========== THE GOOD ========== 1) Voice commands to Alexa initiate requests to play music from Amazon Prime Music on my Sonos Play 1 speakers. Requests such as artist, album, song, etc. My speakers across my house are set up as a group, and the music plays in all rooms in my house. LIKE! If it's playing in my Sonos app (including music I'm playing from "On this iPhone" on my Sonos app), I can control the volume with voice commands to Alexa. Hi I have a pair of One's , one is in the living room and the other is in the dining room. Sometimes when I ask Alexa a question they both answer or one will answer followed by the other a few seconds later. Any ideas how I can rectify this so only one answers? Thanks

I have a Playbar connected to my tv and a Sonos One in another room and other Sonos speakers in other rooms. I am able to group rooms in the Sonos ap to play the tv on any other speakers. How do I tell Alexa via my Sonos One to play the sound from the playbar (while it is providing audio for my tv) in other rooms? Everything I have tried is met with a dead end.

Hi! I use Sonos mobile app for playing music. I have premium Di.Fm radio station account and I linked that radio via Radio by TuneIn. I have Amazon Eco and connected speakers to it. I can listen to music using Alexa's voice commands. Thanks to Sonos! However, I can listen to music from Alexa device only. I do not know how to ask her to change the source of my music. For instance, I want to ask Alexa to play certain radio station which I added into my favorites list (“My Sonos” in the mobile app). How can I do that? Thank you!

I have three Sonos speakers: a Play:1 in the Kitchen, a Play:5 in the adjacent dining room, and a Play:1 in the living room. I also have an Echo Dot in the Kitchen, and I have enabled the Sonos skill in Alexa. I have placed all three of Sonos my speakers in an Alexa group called "Downstairs". Alexa can't find it. At best, I can specify one speaker, say "Kitchen", and hope the other speakers are linked somehow. Also, Alexa can't find any Sonos playlists. Or, adjust the volume of the Sonos speakers. What exactly can Alexa do with the Sonos skill? Because it seems like, not much of nothing.

I understand that you can start a song on Apple Music using Siri with AirPlay 2 - once started with Siri you can then ask Alexa questions like “what song is this?” and use Alexa to pause or skip a song with Siri, Apple Music and Alexa working together. What other things can Alexa do after a song is started with Siri using AirPlay 2? I have looked for video demonstrations online but haven’t found anything in English. Also can you ask Alexa to like a song on Apple Music once initially started with Siri using AirPlay 2?

Recently got a new router, after setting my Sonos system back up I realised that Alexa would answer average questions but would not play music when asked, Tried reinstalling Sonos system numerous times, deleting all Alexa devices off app, deleted app and reinstalled changed names of speakers and still doesn't work. Am I being dumb or anything else to try?

When I say "Alexa, shuffle " Alexa responses with "Shuffling from Spotify" But then Alexa plays the first song (not shuffled). Thinking that maybe it has to start with the first song, I say "Alexa, skip" Alexa plays the second song (not shuffled). Then if I say "Alexa, shuffle" Alexa responses with "Shuffling " and the next song will be random (or shuffled). Reproducible every time. I really don't think this is the intended behavior. I do not have any non-Sonos Alexa device so I do not know if this is only on Sonos or if it is a wider problem.

Had to re-set up my sonos one due to network change (actually 3 Sonos One's). Now If I ask alex to play something from amazon music, it says, "here's a station from amazon music....." like it did before, but then doesn't play anything. Alexa - play 93 wxrt. "Here's 93.1 wxrt from tune in radio", but then, no music. I've tried several times. same response. I think it upgraded my software as part of this process and assume that is the issue...

Is there a way to turn off the chime on the Sonos one when you say “Alexa”?

Trying to connect my Echo Dot to Sonos system. When adding as a skill on the Alexa App, I get to the "Allow Alexa to control your Sonos app" page, it shows that it's loading and then I get to a screen that reads: "We were unable to link Sonos at this time." I've updated my Sonos app and tried adding the skill from my PC rather than adding on Alexa App (mobile). Login info is all correct too. Not sure what else to try but would love some help if anyone has any idea how to fix this or has experienced getting the same error message. Thanks in advance!

I recently added the Fire Cube to my home setup that consists of Sonos Ones and Play:1s through out. It seems that the Fire Cube takes over when using Alexa and channels all of the audio output through it's small speaker. When asking to play music, it attempts to start Spotify through the cube, utilizing the TV. Aside from renaming the Fire Cube's Alexa function, what else could I do to get it revert to the Sonos as the primary audio source?

Hello everyone I have a Sonos One and two Play:1s. Can I ask the Alexa on the Sonos One to play one kind of music on there and ask it to play different music on the Play:1, which is in another room? So far, all I've managed to do is get the Sonos One to play the same music across all the speakers by making a 'Group' within the Sonos app. But how about playing different music? If this is not possible, might a software update make this possible at some point?

I have three Amazon Echos and seven Sonos speakers, one is a combo SonosOne, which is in the master bathroom. When I ask the bathroom SonosOne a question or set a timer, it wakes and goes quiet, but the response and/or timer sound comes from the kitchen Echo tower, which would not have been able to hear the "Alexa" command in the first place. Is there a setting I need to change?

Hi, I have an Amazon Echo Dot, linked to three Sonos Play 1, and all is working well (I can tell the Dot to play music, through Spotify, to each of the two different rooms the Sonos Play 1 are in). I also have a boost. I have just bought a Sonos One, to put in another room (very close to the others). However I cannot seem to connect the new Sonos One to the same Spotify account as the Dot - says that the music is not available “I can’t find songs by...”. When I ask Sonos One to “play Spotify” it says I need to link my Premium Account, using the Alexa App. I have the Alexa App with Premium Spotify Account, but this is connected to the Dot. Can both the Amazon Echo Dot and the Sonos One be connected to the same Alexa App with the same Spotify Premium Account, and if so how!? All I want to do is give voice commands through Alexa to play music on the Sonos, either from the Dot, or Sonos One (whichever I a closer to). Thank you

Exactly what do I need to buy to get my existing Play Ones and Fives to work with Alex?. At present I have no Alexa device. Will the new Sonos One have Alexa built in or will it need an external source?

Anyone can have any solution to download Alexa app in Singapore to work with the Sonos One that we bought recently . Voices control showing the function not available in Singapore Please help. Frustrating situation

I've gotten Alexa up to the point where she says she's about to play some artist, and then nothing evert happens. When I manually play stuff via Sonos app, Alexa heard "Pause", but then doesn't even pause or stop. She will, however, tell me jokes. I have been through the factory reset procedure 5 times.

Can Alexa play from different sources asssembed in the Sonos Favorites list? I have various favorite stations from Pandora and Amazon Prime in my Sonos Favorites. Can I get Alexa to play from there? If I say "Alexa play chill in living room"... I'm guessing it would pull from Amazon??, but I want my saved Pandora chill station to play. Also, while I know station names in my Sonos Favorites, I may not recall the source they come from (ie Amazon Prime or Pandora). I would hope for something like "play chill from favorites" type of ability.

Hi, i have 3 sonos one in my living room which have always worked perfectly but suddenly Alexa can't find any music artists, only playlists. So when I say Alexa play Metallica, she just reply i could not find any songs by Metallica. I have an English amazon account, and all my devices have an english adress in the alexa app. I think everything is installed correct. Skills as well are correct installed. Please help me get alexa back to normal.

I have an existing sonos play 1 in the living and got a new sonos one for the kitchen. I set everything up and cant get alexa to control either of the speakers all that well. When i ask it to play in the Kitchen, it says it cant find a device called "kitchen". When i ask it to turn down the volume, it flashes and nothing happens. Or i ask it to play michael jackson on pandora and it says "getting michael jackson playlist, playing on kitchen sonos, sorry kitchen sonos is offline". HELP, Im going crazy.
