Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Hi, I tried play song using voice command " Alexa! play coldplay song from spotiy'. It says shuffling song from spotify but doesn't play anything. I have submitted diagnostic with ref number 1547443961. Thanks

Just got the sonas one and having issues with the alexa voice control and spotify. I have a premium spotify account got the alexa app sonas and spotify i have linked them all up and everytime i ask alexa to play music the response is "your spotify account does not support streaming on this device" its so frustrating im about to chuck it out the window! Or send it back any clues anyone ? If i use by manually playing music in spoifty it works perfectly. My understanding was tge voice control was updated as at 22nd Nov ?

I have recently purchased a Play 1 and set up according to instructions. Everything works ok apart from when I ask Alexa to play radio or spotify she says 'Playing...from spotify' or 'Playing BBC radio one' and then nothing. Both theses fibroids functions work through the Sonos app but not through voice commands. Please can you help

Hello. Just bought 2 Sonos One. I am trying to connect them with Alexa app, but when I reach the point where Alexa is searching for Sonos devices the search fails. Is it possible to make it happen in Greece? In Sonos app, when I tap on the "Voice Services" button, I get a message that this service is not available in my country. Is this the reason that I cannot connect Alexa with my "ones" ? Any advice/solution???

I have three Sonos rooms setup and a configuration with Alexa. For some reason 2 of the three rooms have disappeared from my Sonos App. I can stil play through Alexa, but only Alexa.

Last year, I got a Sonos One because the Sonos ads said that Alexa was soon to be enabled in Denmark. Almost a year has passed with no news. What are the plans?

Hey, I suspect that commercial issues might prevent this, given the Apple and Amazon mix, but can you confirm whether there are any plans to extend the Alexa functionality to have Apple Music as a default library? I know I can start Apple Music using the app, but I wonder whether it will be possible to set it as the default streaming service in the Sonos Alexa skill in future? Great job with the app btw!

I have just purchased two Sonos one , having previously owned an Homepod - while the sound of the two ones combined is indeed better than the Homepod , I am VERY disappointed with the responsiveness. It is like Alexa cannot hear me when I have the music on.. we seriously have to shout to get hurt when the music is at half volume... the homepod would pick our voices up from another room... Is this something that will be improved overtime ? Is anyone else having the same problem?

trying to sort out Alexa, again. Not having any luck. She wouldn't play my music so on fiddling I spotted I had my sonos one registered with her twice. so deleted one of them. I only have one device. So now not sure if that linked but when I say 'Alexa' her voice has changed to another American accent and she says 'sorry I am having trouble understanding right now, try a little later..' WHY!?? I now cant get her to work at all. help pls. I have two little boys who want to use her she was a bday present.

Now that Alexa is available in Spain I am trying to set up Alexa with Sonos skill but the skill does not appear in the app when searching for it. Not sure if this is a problem with Sonos, Amazon or what. Any workardound even if it means to use Alexa in english? Thanks

Hello! I just bought a new Sonos BEAM, and I connected Alexa, but when I say to Alexa that it should turn on the TV, then it wont. But for some reason adjusting volume and turning OFF the TV works great. My tv is the “SONY BRAVIA - Model Number: 40EX500”. Thanks, Upi Singh

Do you have plans to enable the Sonos/Alexa integration to play music from music library? Most of my music listening is via my local network shared music. Id like to be able to use Alexa to play my playlist or indivudal songs or artists stored on my network drive

Summary: Can Alexa control Sonos to play music stored in Dropbox? This may already be addressed somewhere on these forums, but I can't find a recent post on this topic. I want use my Echo Dot to play music through my Sonos One speaker(s) that is stored in my Dropbox. Is that possible? Do I need any other intermediaries?

I am the happy owner of a Sonos Beam and a Philips TV 48PFS8109. Everything is setup with CEC Enabling+ Easylink like in this thread: https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/enabling-cec-on-your-tv-for-beam-6810049 I can control the command "turn off bedroom TV" with Alexa and it works perfect. The problem arise when I try the command: "Turn Bedroom TV on", I see the red LED light on the TV turn off, just like clicking the remote control. After 3 seconds the LED just turns red again. I find this really weird because if I'm trying to cast to my chrome cast, the TV turns on immediately. I have tried disconnecting the Chrome cast to see if it was interrupting the CEC connection. But this is not the case. Any good suggestions? Br. Kasper

Problem: Alexa-enabled Sonos Play:One will not recognise voice commands for controlling music via Spotify. Setup: a Play:One, Play:3 and a set of installed Bose speakers which are conntected to Sonos using a bridge. Background: The Play:One is a recent purchase which I brought for the sole purpose of using voice-enabled “Alexa” to control music, Philips Hue lights and a few sockets around the house. I have no problems controlling the appliances which I have linked to my Alexa app, however, when I ask Alexa to play ....... on Spotify, I receive is a pause followed by “Something went wrong”. Do you want Spotify linked on the Sonos app as well as the Alexa app? Does streaming music directly from Spotify Connect (like a Bluetooth speaker) override the voice activation? What is the correct voice command for queing music on Spotify using Alexa?

I know it is possible to use a Sonos Beam to turn on a TV. But what if the TV has multiple inputs? For example, what if cable TV is HDMI input #1 into the TV and an Apple TV device is plugged into HDMI input #2? Is it possible to say, "Alexa, play Apple TV" and it somehow tells the TV to switch HDMI inputs?

Just got myself a lovely Sonos one and just dying to try some voice control. But totally didn't get that Sweden wasn't a supported country for this. Does anyone know if there is a "work-around" setting up Alexa in not supported country? Or do I simply have to wait until it arrives in Sweden? Help please!!!

Several times both Sonos and Echo are playing music at the time time. I have instructed Alexa to pause, and it only pauses Echo, and not Sonos. I then have to ask Alexa to pause Sonos. One time, the Echo stopped responding after issuing multiple commands, and I had to unplug the Echno and restart it. Any suggestions as to how to avoid this issue?

Set up a Sonos one a few days ago, was working great, loved it. Got home today and said Alexa play music, but nothing happened. Appears that Alexa stopped working but I’m bit sure why as I didn’t do anything to it. I can still play songs through the Sonos app. I tried eating and reconnecting the Alexa app to no luck. Alexa seems to recognize the Sonos one but just won’t respond to anything I say. I wonder if it is an issue with the mic? Any help / ideas appreciated.

Howdy, I keep learning more about the Sonos One and using Alexa and I keep getting confused about what can actually be done with Alexa and what can't! I would like to be able to just tell Alexa to play my music. Music I've bought over the years, CDs and downloads, that are now stored electronically. I'm not too bothered about streaming other music and certainly don't want to be stuck paying for a subscription service. How best to achieve this? Initially I thought I'd get the Sonos One and a NAS and could ask Alexa to "Play The Who in the living room" and the Sonos would access the NAS and start playing. I've since heard that this will not work. You have to start the music using the Sonos app and then you can use Alexa to skip tracks or change volume etc. But she won't initiate play. So, streaming service is the way to go. According to the FAQs on here Sonos works with Amazon Music, Google Play music and a few others. However I've since learned that Alexa will, again, not in

We have a Sonos One, and initially when we set up, it would always play the Radio Station that we asked for with no issues. A few days ago, when we requested a Radio Station (“Heart FM”) it just refused to play the station and wouldn’t do anything. After a reboot today, I again tried “Heart FM” but to no avail. I then tried just “Heart” and it started playing just songs. In the end, it finally accepted “Heart UK”. Has anyone else experienced this odd behaviour by Alexa on Sonos?

Why does my new Sonos 1 with Alexa not recognise that I use Spotify? I ask her to play an artist from Spotify and she keeps reverting back to Amazon...... confused!?

We are thrilled with our new Beam Apart from a slight issue. Whenever anyone on the TV uses a word anything remotely like Alexa, the sound in the TV goes off for a few seconds whilst the Beam is waiting for an instruction . It really is very frustrating...I’ve just been in to try to change the wake word on the Beam and can’t..Does anyone else have the issue with sound drop outs like this? Surely this is an issue that needs sorting promptly?

Just bought the new Sonos One with built-in Alexa, all works fine a part from the timer, when I ask for a 2 minute timer, Alexa repeats this then followed by 'sorry I'm having some trouble' any ideas what the problem/solution is?
