Advanced setups

Spoke to a Sonance rep who told me I could power a full Sonance Garden series (an 8.1 setup) on 1 sonos amp. Has anyone tried this or can confirm this? I am looking for some real power behind these speakers to fill a large space. Thanks!

Most of the speakers are connected through ethernet. One device is also connected though ethernet but it blocked by my network because it shows up as an “uplink” instead of giving the device network. This is because the device is connected through SonosNet instead of ethernet. How can I force the speaker to use the ethernet and only use its wifi for other speakers that aren’t connected through ethernet?To have best experience I should suppose I try to connect as many devices through ethernet and not spamming my internal wifi-network?

Can you airplay from Apple TV 4K to Sonos arc and send Dolby Atmos signal from Apple TV 4K to Sonos Arc?

Hi, I have an Apple TV 4K and old TV with no HDMI ARC/eARC capabilties, i would like to buy Sonos Arc.If sonos user can confirm if Apple 4K TV can airplay dolby atmos to Arc.i understand IOS 14 added new features.

Hey Guys,I am trying to figure out if I want to keep my sonos play 5 (gen 2) or keep my Klipsch III. I am lookin for the best audio quality I can get. And currently I am using usb audio with my klipsch verses wifi with sonos. I keep reading that because of the s2 app sonos can now handle 24 bit. I have deezer, quboz, and tidal. But I also keep reading that it has to be through a local music library. I don't know what that is. Can I stream 24 bit through the deezer/quboz/ tidal control centers in the s2 app or do I have to set up a local music library?

Hello, I've been reading the forums here and over at netgear and trying to figure out the best way to configure the Netgear switches to not have any loops on the network.  In reading the forum, it appears that the Sonos does not support RSTP, so it's been suggested to adjust the RSTP Path costs so that the SONOS don't use their wireless network as the backhaul causing loops.   I'm a bit new to this, so i wanted to see if someone would lend a helping hand and let me know what those settings should look like.  below is an image of the network setup with just the SONOS and Access points depicted.  In looking at the switches, i see the links to the other switches from the core set to 20000, and the links to the SONOS devices to 200000 (except the one connected to the GS305 since it does not support STP).  I guess my question is what are the correct settings on these ports so that the network stops going haywire.

Just purchased and installed a new LG tv with the Magic Remote. I cannot get the remote to control the volume on my Playbar. Anyone have any specific fixes?

The main listening area is approx 16m2, with one side opening into the kitchen/dining space.I had a complete HT (Dolby Multichannel 5.0) setup consisting of-L: Dali Oberon 7-C: Dali Oberon Vokal-R: Dali Oberon 7-SL: Dali Alteco C1-SR: Dali Alteco C1-Sub: None (The quad 7” drivers of the Oberon 7s provided plenty for my listening space)-AVR: Marantz NR1510 (Audyssey tuning used for the setup)-Media: Mac Mini M1-TV: Samsung 65” 4K Now I had some Sonos One SLs in other rooms of my place, and the AVR had AirPlay 2 support, so I almost had a seamless system via AirPlay 2 for my place. With this setup I had sound in all rooms, excellent sound quality during music while in my living room with the Dali setup, and a very good 5 channel home theatre setup for movies

I have two 70” Samsung TVs mounted right next to each other on my wall in my basement. I’m trying to figure out a way to toggle sound back and forth using one Beam.  I tried using an HDMI switch but it doesn’t work.  Any suggestions?  Someone recommended I use the HDMI switch with audio optical HDMI adapters instead of the ARC HDMI ports.  Not sure what else to try.  Seems this should be an easy fix.

I have a project T1 phono SB turntable i want to connect it to a sonos connect..but then link it via wifi to the sonos sytem where it will link wirelessly to another sonos connect that is connected to my main amplifier in another room..can this be done? will it work? or do i need to connect via ethernet cable?

I’ve upgraded my AMP system with a beam and 2 ONE SL to upgrade to surround sound for my TV setup. However after playing around with the App for hours, best I can do is adding the SL’s to either the Beam or the AMP as surround.Although I wanted to add them all to the same room, instead of grouping them together I now have multiple rooms with the same name. Maybe I simply can’t find the right option within the App but I feel stuck. So my current setup with in the App is: Beam + 2 SL’s in surround mode, AMP in a system with the same room name. I want to have sound from all of them when turning on my TV, what do I do? :D

At home, I created multiple different networks :Admin (192.168.1.0/24) : this network hosts routers and Home assitant architecture Guest Users (192.168.2.0/24) Home Users (192.168.3.0/24) : this network hosts computers, mobile from my familly and also hosts every SONOS devicesAll this networks are connecting to a central Firewall that manage rules and also routing between every LAN. My needs is to authorize the management of SONOS devices from another LAN than only Home Users. Is there a way to force the detection of SONOS devices ?

using thr play:5 as a standalone speaker using the line-in after upgrading to a Play 5

Hi folks,Many people spoke about the latency response via the line-in when trying to connect DJ Mixer yo Sonos system. I have a simpler question though; if i tried to connect mixer to the line-in port in Sonos five paired with another Sonos Five. Would i atill experience latency? i am not sure if this is the same question that has been asked before or not but most questions were talking about multi-room streaming but i am simply connecting pair of fives in one room and want to use them to stream music sourced from mixer. 

Hi there,I'm trying to disable all the wireless of the Sonos One SL speaker. I've connected it via Ethernet and enabled Wired mode. However, it still emits R.F., approximately 20 mW/m2. I suppose it's a Bluetooth module. When it's in Wi-Fi mode, it emits approx. 800-1000 mW/m2, which is enormous, especially when placing this speaker in the bedroom.My suggestion for the product team is completely disabling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules when the device enters Wired mode.P.S. I can upload a video with my measurement using a Cornet RF meter.

I monitor my network traffic and recently received a notification that my Sonos Play 3 was accessing a phishing site at 1:03 AM (a time when the system was not being used). As part of the monitoring I have noticed over time that all my Sonos devices connect to random IP addresses once per hour via port 123 (UDP). It’s my understand this is network time protocol used for synchronization. However after months of monitoring I received the following notification for the first time.”Device Sonos Play 3 is accessing phishing site 104.236.116.147.“After further investigation it seems like this IP address (104.236.116.147) has been identified as an unsecured phishing site. I did a Whois search and the domain owner is digital ocean which seems normal for the UDP sync. When navigating to the site via web browser it appears to be a default message saying nginx has been successfully installed.Has anyone else seen an issue like this or ran into issues with the IP address block 104.236.0.0/16?

Hi all,Bear with me on this one, I am not overly technical, but have an above average understanding of tech (i.e. I often help other family members with setting stuff up) this topic however, is slightly too advanced for me and I need some advice as to whether the below is even possible!… Thanks in advance. I hope you like a challenge :). I recently got so fed up with the SkyQ lip sync issue, that I decided to bypass my TV and link the SkyQ box to the Sonos Beam directly via optical out. There is one benefit to this but many issues with this!Pros:I now have Dolby Digital on Sky with NO LIP SYNC!!! (great for Sky movies, Prime, Netflix etc. directly via my SkyQ box)Cons:Two remotes for sound needed (TV sound is now seperate to Sky) I need to turn the Sky box off (or mute it) to prevent sound playing when the TV is turned off Tv sound needs to be at ‘0’ to prevent echo PS5 and Amazon firestick - Only TV ‘tinny’ sound available as it is not linked to the Sonos Beam.I appreciate this is a b

Currently using my Boost with several one speakers, also using a connect to input to my receiver. Buying an Arc/Sub and doing away with receiver, but not sure I understand if I will still want to use the Boost for my other speakers. Plan to connect my Arc with an ethernet cable to my router. Just purchased 2 Sonos Ports to replace my “Connects” and had no issue connecting the first to my house speakers, using the digital output.  But the connection to my AV system was through the TV/CD input on my Integra Amp with an optical (Toslink) connector.  There is no Toslink capability on the Port.  Problem solved by using a digital coax to Toslink converter from Amazon for less than $15.  Here’s a link.  https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0791CFGY1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have been a Sonos user for years, happily running exclusively on SonosNet.  I had always liked the idea of a Sonos player that could be used outside and so when the Move became available, I bought one about a year ago.  Unfortunately, I did not realise that the Move is a wifi-only device.  Given the challenging nature of getting a good wifi signal throughout our house, (due to the structure of the building), I would certainly have thought twice about the Move, had I known this at the time.Anyway, from reading numerous other posts relating to this topic, I realise that I am not alone in now suffering numerous wifi problems, but the main issue is that my portable controllers (i.e. iPhone/iPad etc) cannot access the Move, even when it is sitting next to my router, unless that controller is also connected to the same router wifi signal, and not that from a wifi powerline extender (PLE) elsewhere in the house. I have now spent hours on the phone getting nowhere with Sonos support and thei

Hi,I just purchased the port and I am pretty satisfied with it.  Currently my setup is an older Dennon Avr-3803 which is powering two front in wall speakers and 2 rear in ceiling speakers. I do not have a center channel in which I was thinking about getting the Arc.  My tv has the HDMI arc connection for it but I am wondering how that will integrate with my AV receiver.  Will I have to use two remotes to  get this to work? One remote for the Av receiver which has optical connection for the TV which powers the in wall speakers. Then another remote to power the Arc?    

I use a stereo pair of Sonos Move and an iMac with Catalina OS runningWhen I switch from Spotify to Youtube, I have to change the sound output each time.Meaning this:when I play spotify, I have to look for the Sonos output within Spotify. Which changes my Mac sound output to iMac Speakers When I now want to play a Youtube video, I have to change my Mac sound output to SOnos and in the process lose the Spotify connectionWhere do you think the problem is coming from ?

I have a long house and am trying to get great signal all the speakers. I have a WiFi router and a satellite router on each end of the house, so I thought a great solution would be to connect a Sonos device on each side of the house to ethernet. One hardwired device is a connect, the other is a bridge. From looking at the network matrix, it appears like every single speaker is now trying to connect to Bridge, even though for some of these speakers, the Connect named “Living Room” is closer and actually has a superior wired connection because its going to the main router and not the satellite. I thought that Sonos would connect to whatever is closest and strongest?  Network Matrix attached.  I believe that the two dining room speakers and the two kitchen speakers should be connecting to “Living Room” and the rest should be connecting to Bridge. Do I need to buy another Bridge to put on the other end of the house?  

Not sure if this should be a question or conversation, but I have had a huge amount of trouble setting up a Sonos Port with my Pioneer surround system. I have a couple sonos speakers in the kitchen and the sounds system in the living room which I am trying to sync up (they are all part of the same overall space).Connecting the Port to the digital coax or using any mode on the receiver but pure direct results in a 10-20ms delay in the audio coming out of the receiver. I realize this is because the DSP on the receiver is doing processing such as MCACC to the sound, and this adds a delay.However, there seems to be no way to adjust this offset in the sonos app. In other systems such as chromecast audio, I am able to add a “negative” delay to the connected device, which essentially adds a small delay to all other speakers. Is there no way to do this within the Sonos ecosystem?The echo is extremely frustrating, and using pure direct on the receiver disables my subwoofers.
