Voice control and smart home

It’s painful that I cannot group Sonos speakers and other speakers in the same room at the same time inside the Alexa app. I have many more non-Sonos speakers than Sonos speakers. I hate that I have to use an Echo Dot and play sound through that. It’s frustrating. Can someone from Sonos provide reasoning behind this?

FYI.. I was able to get my Sonos One back online in Alexa by powering down my router and then repowering. Took a few minutes for it to start recognizing commands again.This did not require disabling any skills, factory reset, or resetting Alexa.Although I did try disabling Alexa and factory reset without success.

About 4-6 weeks ago, Alexa and Google Home commands can no longer find my Sonos devices.I can ask both services for the time and weather just fine, but I can no longer play music via voice command (I can only play music through the app).What gives? Why can’t smart assistant services find my Sonos devices any longer?

I have an Echo and a Sonos Beam in the same room. If I try to drop in on another room (i.e. using Alexa as an intercom) then the Sonos always wins whatever negotiation goes on to handle commands that hit several devices but then says "I don't know how to do that".The end result is that I cannot use Drop-In in that room or anywhere nearby unless I turn off the Sonos mic completely.Couldn't it just ignore commands it can't do and let other devices take care of them?

I am running Sonos S2 through 7 Sonos devices.I want to know if I can tell my Alexa Dot to play something through my Sonos system. When I try this now, Alexa tells me it is using Amazon Music and then plays the song through the Alexa device, not Sonos.If this IS possible, is it also possible for Alexa to launch songs or a Playlist from my personal Music Library and play them on Sonos?I have many songs and Playlists set up in itunes. I launch Sonos on my computer, use my Music Library to add a Playlist or songs to my queue, and Sonos plays my music just fine.I have enabled Sonos in my Alexa app. I have both Sonos and itunes open on my computer.Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

Hi all, Currently i setting up my home to have a Sonos One Gen 2 in every room. Wanted to configure google assistant such that: In Room 1, If give command to turn off fan, it will only turn off fan in room 1, leaving the rest on. In Room 2, if give command to turn off xmas tree light, it will not execute as xmas tree is in living room. In room 3, if give command Goodnight, only turn off the lights and smart devices in room3. Can i make use of google assistant and home app plus sonos app to achieve this? Thanks for you time. Cheers Jim

Appreciating the support for the HD quality of Amazon Music Unlimited HD.I am seeing the HD and Ultra HD label when I start streaming from the Sonos app. When playing the same song by asking Alexa the label does not show. Is the audio quality different in this case?

Can my Sonos Beam via google assistant control my LG 65” OLED with ThinQ?

Just bought new ARC and setup Alexa. voice commands are so low that you can barely hear them. this is one of the reasons that I got this system, disappointed to the least. finally turned off microphone and went back to using echo dot which has a blue tooth speaker attached. 

Can you use play 1 as chime for google nest doorbell. I have no other Google products. I have iPhone and google account with google home app. If yes. How to make it work ?? Thanks 

Hey gyes. Does anyone know a solution to get the nest wireless doorbell to ring on a Sonos? Have a lot of PLAY one SL. I added both Sonos and of cause the nest in Google Home app, but cant get it to work. 

I recently purchased Sonos Roam and I added RadioApp as a service under Music & Content.When I ask Google assistant to play a radio stations using RadioApp (3AW, Fox FM, SEN, ABC Melbourne) the assistant says “Sorry, it looks like RadioApp isn’t currently supported on Sonos Roam”.I have tried using TuneIn, however my most listened to radio station (3AW) no longer streams on TuneIn as of August this year according to their statement: https://www.3aw.com.au/how-to-hear-3aw-on-sonos-and-other-devices/Can someone please assist me to play 3AW and other Australian radio stations using Google Assistant on Sonos Roam? 

Hello! I have three Sonos One speakers which used to work just fine with Alexa, until they didn’t. After some online research I tried to add the Sonos skill but I keep on getting this error message about a geographical restriction which doesn’t make any sense because I’m in the United States where there is no restriction. I’ve already checked my Amazon and Sonos profile and the address on both is correct. 

hello, brand new sonos 1 gen 2 purchased last night and i cannot get alexa to hear and respond. i’ve setup multiple times logged out of apps to reset etc and i’m close to taking it back to john-Lewis. I do get the “hello” from alexa but when i say alexa i don’t get the tone response nor do i get a response to any request.i’ve tried a number of the guides in this sub and no submitted a diagnostics report number: 925174319.    

I realise something odd.All Sonos devices mentioned here are in the same network n with latest firmware.Issue1 -When I m in the bedroom asking Alexa something via beam, Sonos roam dun lower music volume. It's continues to play as usual.Issue 2 -When I m listening to my music in the living room. Where playbase is grouped with a Sonos one, I asked alexa something via Sonos one, playbase music also didn't lower down.Anyone experienced similar scenarios? 🤔

I’ve seen this question/issue raised several times and I want to add my vote for this enhancement to the Sonos One. It is really a nuisance not being able to control the volume of the Alexa / Google Assistance separately from the volume of the music.

Is there a conmand yet which means you can say  “Alexa, transfer bedroom Sonos to kitchen” or something like that it would be great to be able to push one stream of music around the house without having all speakers playing

We have just recently revamped our home network, per belowMain-LAN (192.168.100.0/24): Main Windows computers where I have sonos app installed. My iphone also connect to this LANIOT (192.168.107.0/24): For all of our smart things: Locks, Lights, AppleTV and Sonos OneI have read a few thread about how to configure the firewall to allow Sonos to be discovered.However, with the EdgeRouter 6P, I am quite new to the firewall rules but the basicsCould someone point me to the right direction?Thank you very much

The sonos move makes the beep but then doesnt carry out the request. the roam doest even make the beep… Is it a software or hardware issue. the one seems to work sometimes. 

Starting this topic AGAIN because all the threads are months old and often shut down by Sonos staff. I can play Sirius XM on all my Sonos speakers through Sonos app. I can play Sirius XM on Google speakers using Google Assistant. I can play Pandora on my Sonos speakers using Google Assistant. But what I can't do is play Sirius XM on Sonos (One) using Google Assistant on the Sonos One (or anything else). It says "Sirius XM is not supported on ____".  And yes I've disconnected accounts and relinked multiple times. 

When will Alexa announcements be enabled for the Sonos One (gen2)? I currently need a separate Alexa routine for each of my 4 Sonos Ones to play a doorbell sound when my linked Ring Doorbell is pressed.  I would much rather have one routine where Alexa announces that someone is at the door to all my devices.  

I use my Sonos system in my smart home and it would be very useful to be able to know whether the Sonos Move is currently lying on its charging base or somewhere else.Sadly, I couldn’t find a way to do so through the API or something.Was someone able to do such a thing ?Thank you :)

Losing hours and patience here :-) Google assistant cannot be added to my sonos app to work with Roam. Got support and they told to go online and change the country to US. I did, rebooted the whole thing, uninstalled the app and put it back up again. Nothing happen, still get the same “Not available in your country message”. Any tips before I throw it out a window or write a nasty take down piece? 

I’ve loaded my library into the My Cloud Home (MCH), I’ve got MCH as a music service in the Sonos app.  Everything appears to be fine, but I can only play one or two songs before I get “Unable to play '[song title]” - the connection to My Cloud Home was lost" The MCH is plugged into my router, as is my Boost.  Sonos works fine playing from my computer, Spotify, Sonos Radio, etc etc….just won’t play reliably from My Cloud Home.  I’ve searched the net, and this site, and it’s not an uncommon problem, but I can’t see where anyone solved it.  Any ideas?

We bought a Sonos One and Sonos SL on Black Friday last year, we use these in the living room. Just bought a 50” Samsung TV, thinking of looking at maybe getting a Sonos Beam for the TV. if the price is right on Black Friday  this years.  We will be moving the Sonos Speakers to another room.Biggest dissapointment with the Sonos One is the mic, we found we had to shout to get things working, in the end we bough a Echo Dot to work with it and after a bit of a struggle got it set up, and all was ok.I did buy a beam about 18 months back from John Lewis, but really struggled to set it up, gave up in the end and sent it back. Have a bit more confidence in setting a Sonos up now, I  have a couple of questions i need some help onCan you use an Echo Dot and with Alexa to control the Beam, if so can you turn the mic off on the beam. we use Spotify a lot with Alexa and would like to do this with the Beam. Echo dot works much better placed next to were we sit. Possibly later on we may buy a sub to
