Voice control and smart home

my issue with voice assistants thru sonos is driving me insane (i also am not quite sure if it’s a sonos or spotify issue, but i’m going to ask here anyway) this is oddly specific but my sonos products will play the first two songs i request thru the voice assistants no issue -- then, when i request another, it will either a) not play anything b) say sorry, i can’t do that… or some related error message or c) acknowledge the song that i want (it says playing <the song i requested>) but then does NOT PLAY THAT SONG . after observing spotify when c) happens, i see that the song i want actually plays but then it just skips within a second of playing the song, so when hearing this from the speaker it is like the song never plays. also this is ONLY with voice assistants (i’ve had this issue on both alexa and google) but playing directly from spotify to sonos works perfectly. i have tried every. single. thing i have found online -- uninstalling spotify and sonos, updating them both, re

The title pretty much says it: the app is at 14.8.1 and the system is updated, but when I go to Settings>Services&Voice>Add a voice assistant I don’t get the SVC. Still only get Alexa and Google. Anyone else? --EA

I live in the UK and I am able to use Sonos voice assistant. I didn’t think this was going to be available in the UK until later this year. I was able to use it from beginning of June.  Is this now available throughout Europe or just certain countries? Thanks

Every now and then I disable Alexa on our living room Sonos so the kids don't request 'old town road' and shut off Spotify streams to other speakers.Whilst re-adding Alexa via the Sonos app (Android) I've been getting errors when trying to authenticate with Amazon, I get a popup saying that the Amazon shopping app has stopped? I deleted the Amazon shopping app then tried again, the Sonos app then launched the auth via the browser and worked fine. Is this a known issue?

Whenever I ask Google Assistant on Sonos Roam to play a specific music, it will play just the specific song then stops.However, the Google Assistant on any other device I own works differently, it will play the song first, and then related songs.It's quite infuriating because I have added this device to the kitchen and it's supposed to help my wife on listening to music in a hands-off manner, and it's driving both of us nuts. What is the point of having an assistant if you can only achieve the behaviour you want by using the app? (which is quite bad btw)I see that are some people that have similar complaints as old as 5 years ago. Is there no solution to this?

I would love if Sonos allowed me to use them in my home security. I have speakers everywhere it would be an awesome feature if the microphone could detect glass breaking and sound an alarm through the speaker.

I’m currently on holiday, renting a cottage on the south coast of the UK. Took one of my Roam’s plus my Move with me to use with Bluetooth and I’m super impressed to find that Sonos Voice Control works on the speakers in a basic way on both the Roam and Move speaker. It will play/pause/go forward or back a song etc. I did notice when I got here that both white mic lights were on which I didn’t expect, but obviously they are on because it will work with basic functions (speaker only functions, rather than app functions). Do any of the other voice assistants works with a portable Sonos speaker out and about? I used to use Google Assistant but hadn’t at that point, taken any of my portable speakers out and about, so don’t know if it would have worked or not. I’m guessing not.

Not able to use Alexa on Sonos Move - recently bought. Please guide how to integrate and use.

Hello --   I have one Sonos One speaker (voice enabled), one Sonos One SL (no mic) and two Sonos Playbars (no mic).  I’m trying to create various groups so I can ask my voice enabled Sonos One to play music “upstairs.”  This would require grouping the Sonos One, Sonos One SL and a Playbar (as an example).  Will my Sonos One group itself with my Sonos One SL and Playbar, both of which do not have mics? Thanks. Dave

I have a Sonos Arc, which is connected to my LG TV (lg65nano956na) using eARC. I have Google Assistant setup on the ARC, and everything is working fine. I am able to ask Google Assistant to Turn ON or OFF the TV, using voice commands - where Google Assistant then uses the Sonos TV Control Integration to execute the command, as my TV itself does not appear as a smart device in the Google Home app.I am however facing one isse, that if the TV is already “OFF” and Google Assistant is asked to turn it “OFF”, then it turns ON. This in itself is not an issue (as it does not make sense to do).The problem arrives when I use the “Turn OFF everything” command, to turn OFF all my smart devices. In this case, all my smart devices turn OFF, including my TV.. unless the TV is already “OFF”, in which case Sonos TV Control turns it back on.Any idea why this happens and if there is a way to solve it? 

I switched from Comcast to Verizon, uninstalled Alexa and reinstalled.  Upgraded to the new Sonos app and when asked to play a station on Pandora, Alexa will acknowledge, but no music plays.  I’m at a loss for what to try next.

Is this an issue or am I being picky? Whenever I call out a station through Hey Sonos, an image of the station is not there, just a grey box even for Sonos Radio HD station.

That is it.It seems it no longer adjusts the volume. It also will no longer play a different artist. For example, if I am listening to Van Halen, if I say "Ok Google, Play Pantera on Pool Radio", it says it can't do that on this device. If I say "OK Google, Next song", that works.Trying to change volume as I said, does not work anymore either.On my phone, if I say "OK Google, play Van Halen on Pool Radio", it will work.Is there something with the Nest Devices that is now broke or a bug?I removed the sonos, readded it, reauthorized YouTube Music. nothing. I tried a second Nest Audio, same thing. It will not do "Ok Google, Play "artist" on Pool Radio".Seems it is just related to the Nest Audio.

Bare with me here:My setup for the past few years since we got our pool is this.Sonos Second Gen Connect Amp (the white/grey one, not the new black one).This powers two outdoor speakers.  I had a google mini speaker outside, that I would talk to while in the pool to change songs, change artist, etc.  This has all been working until I changed to the Nest Audio.Below is my thread I have created on the google forums just for reference. I was thinking of purchasing a Sonos Roam since it is portable and waterproof.  I would use this to tell Sonos what to do while I am in the pool.My question is, can I get it to function similar to the google speaker, where it does not play music, it just plays on the amp and two speakers.For example, if I am in the pool and I tell the Roam to play an artist, it will start playing on the connect amp, and not the roam.  Basically just want the Roam for Sonos voice control.  Can it work like this?I am considering an Alexa device just for this, but all my stuff

It seems US has already got the SVC released and seen online that France will get SVC (French?) later this year, but what about the rest of the world? Would be nice to see some kind of timeline for us who don’t want to share what we say with google or amazon.I would be happy to be able to use the same version as for the US, as English is still the main language in my household and I wouldn’t want a local language version.

Just got Sonos Voice Control on my Beam Gen 2.(I have 5 other speakers around my home) I purposely avoided all the other voice Sonos speakers because I didn’t like the idea of Amazon or Google listening in on me, not to mention their annoying voices.  But Sonos knocked it outta the park with their new Sonos Voice Control. The professional actor chosen is perfect.  It is quick as can be and best of all never interrupts the mood or feel of the music.  His voice truly has the class and charm of Sonos.  I like how it listens a bit longer so when you say “Hey Sonos turn it down” you can wait and see if you like the volume, if not, follow up with “More” and the volume will go down more.  This is a nice touch without any chime or voice interrupting the music. You can follow when Sonos Voice Control is listening if you look at the brightness level on the light near the mic. Now I have a massive music library that lives on Dropbox and is meticulously organized in Apple Music(iTunes).  I play my

Hii have a dual Sonos one gen 2 set up in the kitchen and a Sonos beam with Sonos one gen2’s but cannot workout how to get my Ring doorbell to announce on them.. it works on my standalone Alexa? any instruction would be appreciated  charlie

I've been trying for the last few days to get Sonos Voice to play radio stations but to no avail. I've tried just asking, I've tried specifying '...on sonos radio', it just says it doesn't understand, or it can't find that content. Anyone else have this issue or could offer any suggestions?For info, the specific station I really need to work is LBC (my wife listens to it all the time and until this works I can't switch from alexa) but I've tried various others too.

I am trying to add Sonos voice to a Beam.  The Beam is powered on and is on the latest version (I checked in the app).  I can play Sonos radio on it fine from the app so the Wifi is working correctly.  However when I step through the process of adding Sonos voice I get the end and always get this error:“There was a problem connecting to Family Room.  Make sure all your products are powered on and connected to Wifi”I’m not sure what to do at this point.

Back in 2019, Sonos purchased Snips, a voice platform, with the intention of making “the voice experience on Sonos even better”. Reflecting on my own experiences lately using both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, I really hope Sonos is close to launching their own voice assistant soon that can overcome many of the shortcomings of these two voice assistants, especially in terms of playing music.In particular, I’d like to see a voice assistant that can:Play lossless / Hi-Res / HiFi music from a music service Differentiate between your personal playlists and public music platform playlists Play music from your own local music libraryWhat would you like to see it do, based upon the issues and frustrations you’re encountering in trying to play music with your voice assistant of choice?

Hi All, I just started using the new Sonos Voice Assistant and it seems to be working quite well so far. Whenever I ask it to play an album or a song it likes to always default to Apple Music, but I’d rather it default to Amazon Music without have to always specify “On amazon Music” every time I ask it something.  Any ideas how to achieve this?Thanks
