Voice control and smart home

Hi All,My sonos beam (in 5.1 configuration) suddenly stopped responding to voice commands- neither Alexa nor hey sonos work. I tried rebooting, forgetting sonos skill and re-enabling in Alexa app, also de registering and re registering- no avail. Voice commands are working well in all other devices- Move etc. I wonder if something is wrong with Beam hardware and it’s not able to listen to my commands anymore? it’s really annoying- and any help and guidance would be much appreciated. My Alexa on Sonos One used to make the alert noise when listening. Post the app upgrade this doesn’t happen, and Alexa says it’s not available on the device. Why not? Please can this be reinstated, as I like to know when Alexa is listening!

I have 3 rooms with sones Arc and One speakers.It has been working fine with voice control for years but suddenly they do not reply. The voice touch on/off function on top of speakers do not work anymore. I can not turn them on.I have tried to reset the speakers but it do not help.Have anyone tried the same or now what can be the issue?

It appears the “hey Sonos” command only pulls music or station from the sonos radio service, even if you have another service set to default.  hey Sonos always defaults to their Sonos service. Ive tried every verbal command possible.  I'm trying to play specific station from audacy and iheartradio. I give the command “hey Sonos, please today’s 101.9” or “….. from audacy”…..neither one does a thing.  it doesn't respond and just turns off.  if I say “hey Sonos play 101.9” it will play another 101.9 station that is in the Sonos service.  how you do you make “hey Sonos” work with the other services?  I hate having to do it from within the app.  I just want to talk to it.  I dont use Alexa or google.  I use Siri and HomeKit.  Siri completely understand and will play through my phone to my Sonos speakers...I dont want that as it uses my phone to play.  I want to use hey Sonos and have it stream directly to through the sonos speaker, not through my phone to the speakers. if sonos doesn't fix

Hi, after some hiccups with my Alexa i tried to set it up again and unfortunately i cant get it to work.On my Pixel 8 Pro, the Sonos App just gets stuck on contacting amazon. When i use another phone, it tries to log me into an US Account and not my german Amazon account. How can i change this?Plus, when trying to use Google Assistant it also just gets stuck setting it up.So right now neither Alexa nor Google Assisntant work with my Sonos One. 

I have a stereo pair of Sonos Moves (2 devices) and a stereo pair of Sonos One’s (2 devices) in the same room.It used to be that all 4 speakers lower the music they are playing when I say “Alexa” until after it finishes responding, and for some reason now the two Moves do not lower their music volume which makes itHard for Alexa to hear me Nearly impossible for me to hear Alexa’s response.FYI: Sonos One’s always have microphones on, and I always leave my Sonos Move microphones off. Called support and they couldn’t figure it out and then dropped the call.

Dear Sonos, Get a grip! Lots of us have been telling you for ages that your voice assistants are too loud. Mostly posts have been about one of the three and sometimes it is (mistakenly) supposed that the answer lies with the speaker volume.I am here to tell you that is not the case. The volume of all three of the voice assistants is set too loud relative to the speaker volume. I have both Amazon Echo and Sonos speakers. When I ask Alexa to play music on one of my Amazon Echo speakers, the reply comes at pretty much the same volume as the music. When I do the same on my Sonos speakers, the reply is considerably louder than the music. This is the same for Alexa, Google Assistant and Sonos Voice Control so please, please, please do something about it!Some people have asked for a separate volume control for the voice assistants. In my opinion, that is not necessary. All you need to do is eliminate the imbalance between the music volume and the voice assistant volume.Thank you. 

The Sonus won`t play the channels I want through voice control, it selects Welsh of it`s own volition, I have to play the channel I want through Android. 

Hi, I just recently swapped out my old playbase for an Arc.  I had 2 Sonos Ones and One Subwoofer on the old system.  The Sonos Ones were Alexa enabled.  When I changed out the Arc and readded the Sonos Ones to the new arc (I did a factory reset on the speakers before doing this), the mics on the speakers will not turn on or add the Alexa function.  The Arc has it so the room is fine.  Can a surround system only have one component with Alexa functioning or is there a bug in my system?  I have tried to reinstall and then add the S1s twice but same result.  All the components do show up in my Sonos app.  I don’t know if this is related, but when adding the S1s back to the app, it used “Sonos” and not my wifi.  Sorry for the long post, but wanted to be as complete as I could. Thanks,Jim

As the topic title mentions we are getting these random sounds through the Arc. My system is new since December, 2023. I have the Arc, Sub Gen3, pair of Era100’s. The Arc is connected to my TCL TV w/Roku OS via HDMI. The 100’s are each in separate rooms. Alexa is installed and there are a couple of echo devices in beadrooms.The noises are heard only when streaming through a TV app such as Netflix, Prime, Discovery, etc.. Never when through my Comcast cable box or when streaming music via Amazon Prime music or streaming iHeart Radio, etc. This was a problem earlier this year, then seemed to disappear but lately it is enough to stop us from watching through an app. This was a concern well before the recent app updates but has raised its ugly head since then.The sounds can be described as different tones happening fast, then slower, then faster. Hi, in Era 100 (2 laudspeakers set as stereo pair) I have an allarm, which starts every day at certain hour. Howevet this allarm is not visible in application, so I cannot cancel it.Anybody knows what to do to cancel it?

hi all. In malta (Eu) the sonos skill is not available on alexa. ive set up my beam gen 1 on the sonos app which doesnt even give me the option to choose spotify as my main music source. moreover when i try enbling alexa as voice assistant it tells me i need a third party device which should not be the case with a beam since alexa is built in. any ideas? thanks

how to get alexa to make a sound on sonos device when I call her name

I have a Sonos one and when I call Alexa it used to make a sound so I know she's listening and now it has stopped making that sound. Also when I press volume up or down it used to make a bop noise to indicate the button has been pressed. Unable to see in settings etc where I can turn back on the indication noise after saying "Alexa"

Having waited unsuccessfully for over 4 hours on the helpline last week, I finally got through today - only an hour’s wait!  I have an existing set of three Sonos 1, connected, working, in various places in the house.  I identified a need for another speaker so, after much thought, decided to add an Era 300, although a 100 would probably have sufficed.  Bought the 300 after a substantial price drop recently (approx £100), so tried to set the beast up.  I followed all instructions, and was stuck repeatedly at the ‘connect to Amazon’ screen, as I want to add Alexa, mainly for voice control, where it is located. Seemingly the Alexa app does not work with the Era 300, because I have an android phone.  The helpful (good to begin with but became somewhat ruder as the call progressed!) technician told me that I should be patient and wait for the engineers to fix the bug.  Meanwhile I have an expensive piece of plastic which does work and does sound great but I have to use the app on my phone

My audio light/microphone will not light up. I can’t use voice commands. 

I recently changed my Internet so had to change everything over on my sonos system, before this I used my amazon alexa to control my play 5 but my sonos one and sonos move were voice activated with built in Alexa, since I switched my internet and tried to set up again I have messed up the built in alexa function on both my move and my sonos one. I know it's down to me but I just have no idea how to fix this.I rang customer service and waited in a queue for 75 minutes then spoke to a customer support agent who didn't have a clue how to fix this for the 80 minutes he was on the phone and then to cap it all off the phone went off and I missed his call back.Ive tried the obvious one to me of touching the mic button but nothing happens.I would really appreciate if anyone could help me resolve this  

Hi there,Over a year has passed and Google Assistant is still not available in Poland... I dont understand the reason behind this. It is not that Google doesnt support this in Poland, since it is working very good on other devidces.When Google Assistant feature will be available in Poland ? Is there anything happening to make it work ?Alexa is available, but frankly speaking its a mess… But please dont reply with availability lists and that its a Google problem, not Sonos. I realy dont think it's a Google problem... Or maybe someone has a way to make it work ]:→ ?  

Since the recent Sonos app update (circa May 2024) I cannot connect the Sonos Alexa skill to my system.  It's all been working fin in the past, and with this update I now get told I must register my products: Which they are, or that I need to update the app: which I have! (And the Alexa app for good measure!)It's clear there is an issue, but has anyone else had this or knows how to address it?) Kind regardsJ

Hello, am I able to control my Sonos Five with a voice command if it is paired with Sonos voice-enabled speakers such as a set of Eros 100s?

Will Alexa play different Spotify tracks on different speakers? If so,how do you do it?It can be done via Sonos app but I would like to do via Alexa.will Sonos voice do it? 

We are new to the “Alexa” world - except for our 24 year old daughter Alexa.  We have multiple Sonos speakers, with our newest being the Sonos Move with Alexa enabled.  We thought that we could change the wake word for Alexa on any device.  While I love the name “Alexa”, that is our daughter’s name and we really need to change the wake word to “Echo”.  Either that or we need to change our daughter’s name :). Sonos, please help - enable changing the wake word on Sonos speakers.With thanks,Sue

No puedo conectar mi somos arc con HomeKit, al intentarlo sale un mensaje de que AirPlay no pudo conectar. Que compruebe que mi iPhone esté conectado a la wifi. Buongiorno, sono un nuovo utente del sistema Sonos. Posseggo solo un Era100 regalatomi da mio figlio lo scorso Natale. In merito al suono avvolgente riprodotto non ho nulla da ridere, anzi, è perfetto, ma sui servizi accessori integrati nel sistema dell'Era100, devo dire che siamo molto in alto mare!Dato il costo per l'acqua dell'altoparlante, una persona normale pensa di trovare chissà perché è compatibile con il sistema e invece una grandissima delusione!!!Riproduzione musica limitata e assistenti vocali compatibili solo con Sonos e Alexa.Dotazione di sistema molto scarsa!!! Si pensa ad esempio agli assistenti del comando vocale: Sonos è praticamente initile in quanto risponde solo in inglese, Alexa è stupida in quanto è limitato dato che non ha un browser aperto come proprio motore di ricerca e google? Google scopro che non è compatibile con questo sistema... 300 euro di altoparlante e nessuna compatibilità con l'assistente vocale Google, se non attraverso un altro altoparlante Sono
