Voice control and smart home

I know LTE routers are not supported and I have read all the related articles but, so far, I have managed to create a system with a 2nd gen One (second one due to arrive in the next couple of days) and a Sub Mini, update each product and connect to Spotify and BBC Sounds without any real trouble. I managed to get Alexa working once I found out that you have to delete the Amazon Shopping app to make the connection work. I also tried adding Google Assistant before realising that you can't have both that and Alexa on the same speaker. The only thing I can't get to work is Sonos Voice Control. I have tried using 5GHz WiFi, 2.4GHz WiFi and even a hotspot but no dice. The "update" (don't ask me why SVC should be an update and not part of the basic firmware) crawls round to the full circle, hangs there fire a minute or two and then fails. I have tried wiping the app but to no avail. N. B. I am using Three's 5G broadband on a ZTE Mc801A and have a good stable 5G signal.  Can anybody (@Corry P)

I have a ZP100 (very retro I know) 🤣 which is in a standard Alexa Group (NOT a speaker Group) with an Alexa Echo deviceIt’s set up WIRELESSLY to play all music through the external speakers connected to the ZP100 rather than the Echo.So Alexa’s spoken responses to any questions we have are routed through the Echo which is as I expectIf our request is radio/Sonos related the resulting music is played through ZP100 and external speaker again as expected.If we issue a voice command to the Echo while the ZP100 is actively playing “Ducking” occurs for the duration of the interaction again as expected, so far so good!The one thing that is puzzling me is that when our Ring Doorbell is triggered the alert on the Echo plays the “Someone's at the Door” alert that we’ve set up but no ducking occurs on the ZP100 which makes the option to “Answer Front door” voice command that we may choose to issue just a little more complicated because of the background noise from the unducked ZP100 To get aroun

I have a Play:1 and a Sonos Beam (Gen 1). Alexa will not play the Beam anytime I create a group in the Alexa app to combine the speakers for playing. Alexa will only play audio on the Play:1. The Sonos app will show that the Beam is supposed to be playing, but there is no audio. Alexa can play music individually on each Sonos device without a problem. It’s only when I try to create a group is when the issue occurs.I have tried reinstalling the Alexa app, disabling/re-enabling the Sonos skill in the Alexa app, resetting router, factory resetting Sonos devices, and changing routers. Nothing seems to work. It was fine several months ago. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. :)

I can use voice control to listen to music on Spotify. When I ask for Radio 4 i am told there is an issue with my music provider. I have reauthorised etc. I can connect to Radio 4 via the app but not with voice control. 

I have the new app. Pretty poor. I’d like to know why the Alexa app disappeared from the new Sonos app. I added it when I updated and then it disappeared. There is no option for voice assist of any kind on the apps main page.

Asking this again. It has been years now. When will you get sounds working on Google assistant on Sonos? It is clearly Sonos' responsibility more than the BBC or Google to fix this. I end up listening to BBC on my crappy Google home devices when I have an expensive Sonos system sitting next to them. Sort it out please! Not buying Sonos again.

I’ve tried resetting and rebooting, but no luck.  Is anyone else having this problem?  It was working fine until a few weeks ago.

I cant add the assistant on my Beam.It stopped working couple of weeks ago.Anyone who has a solution?

Never had an issue with Sonos or its compatibility with Alexa/Amazon Music.Over past 3 weeks, I can no longer use my Sonos system to queue Alexa or stream music via Amazon Music. Occasionally, Alexa will start to play a requested song / playlist and will last about 5 seconds before it stops working. Alexa no longer responds to any other requests via Sonos (i.e. turn off lights, etc). Yes, I’ve deregistered everything, reset all speaker components, disabled/enabled Sonos app with Alexa, disabled/enabled voice services in Sonos, re-selected Amazon Music as preferred streaming. Absolutely nothing works. Sonos support is constantly a 90+ minute wait. I have thousands of dollars wrapped up into a system that simply no longer works.  Any one else experiencing similar issues?

After factory resetting this speaker 12 times just to get the new app and firmware to work for 10 mins before I once again see “no products found,” I can’t add Alexa. It gets to a screen that says “Signing in to Amazon” and just hangs like that forever. And no, the problem is not on my end. Has anyone else seen this and found a fix? Or is this just another feature this failed company removed in the app update and now we have to wait and see if they add it back 6 months from now? 

Why doesn't “Hey Sonos” voice control recognize the Sonos radio station “SILK JAZZ”**********Request: “Hey Sonos, play SILK JAZZ “Response: “I can't find that content should I play something by silk instead?”*********I'VE TRIED SAYING IT EVERY WAY I CAN THINK OF. It still doesn't recognize it I have successfully been using Hey Sonos to play other Sonos radio stations but it just can't seem to recognize this one. 

Hi. I’m using the Apple Music Service on a Sonos Era 100 stereo pair. When I ask Sonos Voice to play “Golden Ticket” by “Highasakite” it fails to do anything. When I use the Sonos app to play the song, and then ask Sonos Voice to name the song, it says “Golden Ticket” by “Higasakite” (Hig, not High).So, I then try asking Sonos Voice for Golden Ticket by Higasakite - and it tells me it can’t find it!Note : Alexa Voice control manages to find the song.

When I ask Alexa to play a radio station or an artist it recognises the request and replies, eg ‘playing xx from Global Player’ or ‘shuffling songs by...’ but then silence. I can play these fine through the speaker using the app. If I ask a straight forward question eg what’s the weather forecast Alexa replies correctly. Does anyone know what the issue is with the music and radios? 

Hi I have a sonos One and a sonos Beam. I am trying to install voice control from the Sonos Android App but when I click on Add voice assistant nothing happens - I have the last version of the App. Can you please let me know what I should do? Thanks

I have a new Homey Pro I can not get it to pair with Sonos. Do I need a hub or some other item to connect?  any help will be appreciated. I am a novice it this. 

Hi, I have a Beam (Sonos Voice Assistant, “Hey Sonos”) and an Era 100 (Alexa Voice Assistant) in pretty close proximity.  I chose different voice assistants because my soundbar kept picking up my Alexa commands to the Era when I didn’t want it. I know for the Sonos Voice commands on how to group the speakers, but what are the Alexa Voice Commands to group it with the Beam and ungroup it? Thanks!

I have 3 rooms with Sonos speakers with voice control About when the new update came the voice control has no function. It is not possible to activate and deactivate on units with touchAnyone with same experiences?

I live in Italy and here Android users are much more that the Android users that are in the USA…Personally all my family have an Android device, like Google Pixels, and all the house have integration with Google Assistant and Google Home. We are a Google Family.We bought a Sonos Move for have a portable speaker with a gorgeous sound, and I can confirm that it have, but we hear the lack of the Google Chromecast built-in integration.In fact the Chromecast built-in feature is a great opportunity for Sonos, we think, because in this way Sonos Speakers can appear in Media controls of Google Home and so can be controlled by all the people that live in the house. Also Chromecast built-in have plenty of integration with some services that made things really easy.So, we decide that for now Sonos for us it can be only the Sonos Move or the Sonos Roam that have also the Bluetooth, because we need it for limiting the lack of the Chromecast built-in functionality. Since the new app my microphone on my  sonos one paired as surrounds with Playbar stopped working (Light doesn’t go on either)Is this a bug of new app or has Sonos stopped supporting this feature with the Playbar?  

Hi - new to the Sonos ecosystem and having a bit of a struggle getting Alexa set up properly - I assume this is a simple one and for some reason I’m being a bit dense.I have two Era 100s set up ass a stereo pair - one of the Eras knows where it is, if you ask it to turn off or on the lights it does, the other one asks which light. Suggests one of the Eras doesn’t have the room set for it.Both speakers are part of a Sonos  pair in the living room which is added to the lounge group in Alexa - really confused why this is happening other than things never like to be easy.

When I say play, I just want it to play. Same as stop. Tv on/off.  I don't want to hear 2 sentence in an accent that hurts my ears. Are there absolutely no configuration options for voice control and voices? Like talkback volume? Will there be?

I’m trying to add Move 2 as a ‘Alexa-enabled Device’ in Alexa app, but Alexa app recognizes Move 2 as a ‘speaker’. Any suggestions? I’ve tried factory rest Move 2, removed it from Alexa app, added it back. The Alexa voice assistant is set up in Sonos app and Alexa is working fine on the Move 2.
