When I ask Alexa for the current weather via my Sonos speaker, I always get the message that she is not aware of where I live, but I can save it as an address.
A unique address is stored in the Amazon account that I use for the smart speaker. Do I need the Alexa app here or is the error somewhere else?

I suspect you need the Alexa app and set/check the device location in More > Settings > Device Settings > “device”
You can also set other locations Settings > Your Locations for asking about navigation to those places, their weather etc.
