I noticed about a month ago that my Sonos One, my bathroom started ducking (lowering volume for a command), much longer than was necessary. There are two main scenarios that I use Alexa with the Sonos One. In the first, I am just asking for weather or some short snippet of information. In this case, even if the Sonos One is in "listening" mode, it doesn't matter because I already received the weather report and and I've walked away. However, the second use case is much more annoying. If I ask Alexa to play a podcast or music, it starts playing immediately, but the volume is very reduced because the Sonos One is still waiting for a command. This lasts about 10 seconds, which means I miss the first part of my song or podcast. I know there are a lot of discussions about whole house ducking which I hadn't even thought about and doesn't currently bother me since we are rarely listening to whole house music. I am more upset about the experience on the Sonos One I am using.

I just returned my full Sonos system (10 speakers) because of Audible was not available.

Hi folks, sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere but I’m thinking about buying a Sonos One and am interested in finding out more about how it will integrate with an existing Echo Spot. For example, I currently set an alarm in the morning via the TuneIn skill on the Echo Spot, so I get woken up to the radio and it plays through the Echo Spot. If I want to play the radio through my current Sonos PLAY:1, then I have to stop the radio playing through the Echo Spot and then tell Alexa to play the radio (“Alexa play Radio 2 in the bedroom”). If I get a Sonos One then is it possible to do the same thing through the Sonos, or would I have to keep doing it through the Spot and have the radio playing through the Spot? Also I’m wondering if there’s any issue with commands, i.e. currently if I say “Alexa play some Bruce Springsteen in the kitchen” then it will shuffle songs on the Sonos PLAY:1 in the kitchen. What happens if I have a Sonos One in the same room as the Echo Spot n

When I set up my two speaker, Alexa recognized the devices as "...Sonos One" and "...2nd Sonos One". When I created my stereo pair (which dramatically improved the sound quality BTW), Alexa created a device for the pair called "Master Bedroom." Should I leave this as-is in my Alexa settings; or should I delete the Sonos One and 2nd Sonos One devices, leaving only the "Master Bedroom" paired device?

Can you link a stand alone Sonos play 3 to Amazon Alexa?

I cannot work out how to link all these devices so i can control Spotify with my voice using my Sonos One, does anyone have simple instructions on how to do this?

My wife and I have two separate Spotify accounts. Our Sonos apps have our own Spotify account on our own phones. We each have Alexa on our phones. We tend to control our Sonos with Alexa. Alexa will only play using my Spotify account - if I'm driving I can't listen to Spotify if the family are listening on Sonos even though my wife is there with her phone and account. How can I make Alexa/Sonos choose the Spotify account of the phone that's connected to the sage WiFi Is there anyway round this?

Hi there I have two Sonos One, they are set up to my home WiFi and connected to Amazon Alexa and Spotify. The Spotify is lnked to the account, which is also Premium. It works when i play music via through the app, however, it doesnt recognise that spotify is linked when ask Alexa to play spotify music. What can I do to resolve this, as everything that i believe needs to be done to link Spotify, Sonos and Alexa has been done.

My set-up of sonos one and alexa sonos skill is fine. However, I found my flash briefing on sonos one only plays the first source on my media list (NPR in my case, never get a chance to move down to BBC news, and so on). I checked my alexa app, the location and time zone setting are correct for device "sonos one", but for my "phantom room"--bathroom, those fields are blank, and I was unable to change those fields on alexa app and alexa website. Called Echo customer service and they said I should contact sonos to resolve this issue. Can anyone help me with this?

2 Questions - same issue> Language and restricted use of Countries: I have 1 Alexa account (in UK) and I have 2x different Sonos accounts (1 in Germany and 1 in Switzerland) I want to use both (2) Sonos accounts in my 1x Alexa account - how can I set that up on the Alexa App? and that it works on Sonos One etc. in both Countries? and As Alexa & Sonos voice services are only available in a few Countries and not in Switzerland nor the wider European Union area - how can we or who do we ask/pressure Amazon/Alexa/Sonos so that they enable at the minimum English voice service within Switzerland and the wider EU region. Why can't Amazon/Alexa/Sonos allow for all a minimum English to be available Globally?

Suddenly, and for no particular reason, my Sonos 1 stopped responding to an Alexa command and yes, I have renoot3d, disabled enabled, checked both apps....etc etc....noth8ng has changed...no internet change no interruption, etc....I read and dine everything suggested all to no avail.Help please

Ok I know that there are other threads already talking about this issue however I thought I would share my experience and testing. What I want to happen: I want to connect my Echo Dot to my Sonos CONNECT:AMP in the kitchen and be able to instruct and hear Alexa over the speakers connected. I also want the ability to control my other Sonos products in other rooms using the Echo Dot in the kitchen. What actually happens: If the Echo Dot is connected via line-in to the CONNECT:AMP, whilst it will play music without an issue, when asking Alexa to do something else like tell you the weather forecast, Alexa is almost inaudible. If I disconnect the line-in, I then have to stipulate that I want the music to be played in the kitchen or it will begin playing the music out of it's own speaker. Any other type of instruction such as weather forecast will then always be heard from the Echo Dot speaker and not the speakers connected to the CONNECT:AMP. What I tested: I connected the Ec

I bought a pair of Sonos One speakers. I set them up with Alexa and everything worked flawlessly for two days. This morning they were working great... but when I got home from work, the Alexa integration for playing music was wonky (all other Alexa commands were fine). Alexa would acknowledge commands, but not act on them. If I can get it to play music at all, I can't pause or skip tracks via Alexa. I've done the whole routine of disabling/enabling Alexa skills... logging out/logging into accounts... removing/adding devices... removing/adding services... and nothing works no matter how many times I try. Then, as I was running everything yet again with Sonos Twitter support, I finally got music commands to work for playing music and even pausing ... but when I told Alexa to resume, the command was not going to Sonos... it was going to my Harmony Hub which controls my television. I have an Echo dot ported to powered speakers and a Sonos One in the kitchen. When asking Alexa on the Dot to play something it tells me Amazon Music is already playing in the kitchen and I need to set up multiroom music in Alexa, meaning the voice assistant obviously "sees" the Sonos One. How do I do get that multiroom setup going in Alexa?

I have 4 Sonos Ones in my house, all set up at the same time and with the same access to my Amazon Prime music. However one of the units will only play a single album when you ask Alexa to "play music". If you ask her to play any other artist or album she cant find it. If I go via the Sonos control app i can access all my music and it will play no problem. This appears to be purely an Alexa glitch and i cant seem to solve it. Any suggestions on how to reset Alexa?

This may have been answered before but rather than having to find phone and go to app, select radio station etc I'd love to be able to have a dedicated switch which always turns Sonos onto my radio station of choice. Sometimes I turn my Sonos on only to find it's playing something different. Rather than having to find my phone I'd love to be able to switch channels from the unit. Any ideas? Thanks.

With Follow-Up Mode on alexa keeps beeping after asking to do something, it keeps beeping 5 10 times? very annoying so i turned off the followup and beeping went away. anyone know why?

Want to know if anyone has suggestions on how to fix voice control with Alexa. I can give a voice command, Alexa responds to the voice command and acknowledges that music is paying, but music does not play. I've tried re-installing Alexa control through Sonos service, but that didn't seem to work. Thought maybe because I am using Sonos hub vs local wifi to run speakers. Has anyone else run into this issue? Suggestions?

Hi all I have two sonos ones with "alexa" both of them did use to tell me the weather in St.Helier Jersey. But recently neither of them do this, I just get "I don't know your location, in future you can go to the App and add your complete address for your device" So we did this on the app, but still no joy. So we contacted amazon (as the sonos was working) they told us a few things to try which we did, but still nothing. They then told us to deregister both devices and they would sort it their end, and that just made things much worse, when we said "alexa" it just said that I'm having trouble understanding please try again later. Amazon where no help with what they had caused! and said to contact sonos, but as we said its an issue with alexa, they could not sort out our know, dead in the water sonos. So we did a factory reset, and we are back to square one....so does anyone know how we can get it to give us the weather in St Helier Jersey? thanks

Amazon have now released the functionality to control Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Sticks via voice control in the UK. (This functionality was only available in the US until now) If you have a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick and want to control via your Sonos One or other Echo device, then all you need to do is: > Open the Alexa App>Music, Video & Books > Under the Video section, select Fire TV > If you have multiple devices, you can pair which Echo device (Including the Sonos One) with each of your Fire TV Devices via 'Manage Devices' 😃

I have setup two Sonos one speakers (setup the Sonos skill in Alexa, Spotify (premium account) as my default music service, and Alexa as my voice service in the Sonos app). I can ask for music by artist or a specific song but am unable to ask for music of a specific genre or activity type for instance saying: Alexa play 80's rock or Alexa play dance music. Alexa just responds with unable to find any 80's rock etc. I have not created any playlists or followed any particular feeds in spotify (am new to using spotify) so i am not sure if any of this matters. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Just started having problems with my Play1 with built in Alexa to execute commands to play or pause music and change stations that have previously worked with no problems. Alexa responds with a chime and says ok but then nothing, then I must use the app to issue the commands. Whereas, upon issuing the same command to my Echo Dot, the command is executed immediately on the Dot as well any Sonos equipment where I tell it to play. Note: Commands to the Alexa on Play1 to turn on Philips Hue lighting and ask for information like what the current time is works just fine. Also, just for poops and giggles, when asking Alexa on both SONOS and Echo Dot "what song is playing", I get the response Lonely Boy by The Black Keys, no matter what song is playing. Any ideas of what is going on?

This issue is happening frequently. The only workaround for this problem is to 1. Select new ROOM NAMES in the SONOS app 2. And then having the Echo device FORGET the SONOS device name, 3. Then having Alexa rediscover new devices. This workaround appears to only work for a short time, then I must repeat the above process to get SONOS speakers to stream again. I have tried just forgetting the SONOS device in the Alexa app, then discovering the devices again but that action had no impact on the problem. The only action that corrects the issue is changing the ROOM Names in the SONOS App What are the changes occurring when the ROOM NAMES are updated in the SONOS app or in the Alexa Cloud services? What needs to occur to make these changes stick? Doug

I got a pair of SONOS ONE, just because of their VOICE CONTROL. But it turned to be this function can't be used in Thailand. What's the point I got these speakers instead of SONOS Play 1 for just half price. T-T Now I wonder why there're a lot of review of this product all over internet since it can't be used?? (Of course, it's Thai reviewing) Is there anyway to make it work??
