Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

Sonos you owe us. Money for the time and investment we’ve made in your company only to be cheated by your incompetence. I’m serious you need to refund us for the purchase of your hardware. Patrick Spence… He incinerated the business… and now leads a think tank? Boy you got played bad Sonos… did Sony or a competitor do this to you? You coudn’t have done it all yourself… it’s inconceivable that anyone/let alone an organisation that has built itself on innovation, presents the illusionon of being competent could be so utterly defunct of any business sense as to disrespect it’s installed user base so much so that they want to end the organistion. Give us our money back … before you have no more money to keep the lights on. It’s been a year where is Sleep Timer on the web controller? FFS.
I currently use Sonis to play the music in my iPhone through some kitchen ceiling speakers. I’d like to be able to access my full music library which is stored on a desktop pc and played through iTunes. I am considering buying a NAS Synology DS223J to do this. I am not great on this technology. Can anyone tell me, please?Would this particular NAS drive be compatible with the Sonos I have bought, allowing me to play music in my kitchen? If I added another Sonos in my living-room, would the NAS also allow me to play music there? Would my iPhone be able to operate playing the music through the NAS and Sonos, or would I need another device to play the music? How much music can I store on the NAS Synology DS223J? The spec I have looked is confusing. It says 0TB storage but elsewhere refers to 36TB? Or are there all different sizes of storage? Apologies if I’ve struggled to make myself clear. Wouid very much welcome some informed feedback. Thanks
Sonos sends emails to me in language other than English. It may be Swedish, I cannot read it. How do I get Sonos to change the language of the emails it sends to me to be sent in English? Thank you.
Who else got sad about the news that the IKEA Symfonisk picture frame speaker was discontinued?I always thought it was such a clever, versatile product. Having a picture frame that also works as a speaker opens up so many possibilities for any room—both for sound and for décor. Please, Sonos… bring it back!
The Black Friday discount on an Era 300 is greater than the upgrade offer on one of my existing speakers. However, because I previously activated the upgrade offer, I’m not able to obtain the Black Friday discount that is available to the general public via the web site and there doesn’t appear to be an option to deactivate the offer. I can physically go to Best Buy or order through another channel such as Amazon, of course, but this is inconvenient and it feels odd to charge your loyal, existing customers more. When I contacted customer service via the Chat function they were not able to assist on a timely basis.
Sorry but this is tune in on Sonos only. What a joke and if you don’t pay you have to listen to wayyyyyy to many ads - even for ad free stations!!!! IHeart radio is free, everywhere, and no ads if you want to change the station. Hard pass.
So. I’ve just moved country and moved into a new house. Was pretty happy with my old Gen1 system but have fancy new job and more money so figured it was time to finally make the leap to Gen2. Spent thousands getting a decent starting setup: Arc, 2x era300s, sub, FIVE, and a Move. Fiddle with my WiFi and new Gen2 system for a few days getting it all tuned and optimized. Am sitting here listening to music and child calls me from another room. Reach for iPhone to turn music down so I can hear the child. Use iPhone volume. Nothing happens. “That’s funny” thinks I, “they must have made it an option in settings”. Dig around in settings for a bit. Nope. Can’t find anything. Resort to googling on the internet. Find a bunch of threads along the lines of: “NO MORE SONOS HARDWARE VOLUME CONTROL ON IPHONES” Most of these posts are 2 years old. Ok. What in the flying duck is this enshittification? I want to know how come the crappiest $20 Bluetooth speaker you can buy lets you contr
Dear Sonos Support Team,I am writing to express my growing frustration with ongoing issues involving my Sonos system. My speakers have been continuously disconnecting and refusing to reconnect, and from what I can determine, these problems appear to be tied to the recent AWS outage. When I called your support line for assistance, I was connected to an overseas representative who was not familiar with the issue and unable to provide any meaningful resolution. After requesting to speak with a U.S.-based representative, I waited approximately 20 minutes only to be told that none were available. There has to be a better solution to resolving product issues than relying on representatives who are not knowledgeable about the product—especially considering that this system was not inexpensive. As a long-time fan of Sonos, it is disappointing that the system’s heavy dependence on the app and cloud services has led to such unreliability. I expect a premium product to function consistently, and I
I created a new Spotify account. The Sonos app will let me remove the old spotify service but when i try to log in to the new service it automatically authorizes the old one without letting me log in to the new one. Has anyone found a work around for this?
HelloConnecting a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device to your network is an excellent idea. It’s not just for storing your music files; but any data you want to keep secure and protected for the long haul. Of course for Sonos it allows you to access those music files via the App to enjoy over any Sonos speaker!NAS devices with multiple drives are better (IMO) than single drive storage as they can be configured for redundancy using a minimum of two drives. To be clear single storage drives can be configured for redundancy as well, (via special software) but it’s still a single drive.NAS devices achieve redundancy in what is called RAID configuration of which there are several.RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks or Redundant Array of Independent Disks. The best RAID configurations for home NAS are RAID 1 and 5. RAID 1 is a simple mirror with a doubled, tripled, etc. copy of the data, and requires a minimum of 2 hard drives. RAID 5 provides basic fault tolerance in case
I have been a Sones devotee for close to twenty years, owning four Sonos5s and four Soonos 1s. I loved the sound and the ease with which I could access my 'own' as well as the music Icould stream from providers such as Deezer and Spotify. Now, in the first instance when the company left its 'old' customers with a an incompatible software version and in particular since I encountered massive problems in connection with moving house, my exuberance has - to say the least -faded considerably. I travel a lot and when I return home after a period of absence one of my greatest dreads is having to spend hours trying to ‘reason’ my Sonos to behave in accordance with what it’s supposed to.The problems Sonos keeps presenting are now of a scope that leaves me with no other choice but to change to another brand. I will never again buy a Sonos product, and - given the opportunity – I will not hesitate to advise anyone else to disregard Sonos as a reliable product.I would even go as far as proposing t
I have been using SONOS for years and playing mp3 and m4a files with no problem. All of a sudden m4a won’t load. I saw a response to this issue from 3 years ago that says convert the files. With what, a magic wand? I am not a tech guy, I just expect things that work to keep working. I can play the files from the computer but I don’t care to have to run to the office every time I want to put something on. What is the issue and how can it be rectified?
About the Costco arc with the Era 100’s and the Sub. Worked amazing loved it realized I had no surround sound or sub. Follow the instructions of re-resetting it with unplugging for five minutes. It works for a bit and now the Sonos app can only find the arc. I spent an hour with Sonos chat got disconnected twice. Absolutely no help. Anyone have some thoughts?
Price dropped 20% two weeks after I purchased. Will Sonos honor the discount?
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know. Sonos just sent out a 20% off link to “Loyal Customers.”Before clicking that link, check the prices on the site. Use incognito mode. Right now the Move2 I’ve been wanting is $499 marked down to $399. But not when you hit that link! The “Loyal Suckers” get a price of $649 marked down to $519!Wow, what a shady practice! Some states are actively working on legislation to make this illegal. Repeat customers get taken advantage of. Isn’t it supposed to the the opposite? Aren’t you supposed to treat your customers well? We have to deal with bad apps, disabling old hardware that still works fine, and now paying more if you’re a return customer.I expect this post will be deleted shortly after posting, but at least I hope some of you see it before you fall victim to this scam.
I have a pretty large Sonos system in every room in My house I was checking to upgrade a Sonos Arc for the Sonos arc ultra.Since there is quite a discount going on right now , I figure I’ll get .I go to the Sonos website and set up an upgrade , the DECEIVING part is that the price of the arc ultra changed to a higher price because I am trying to use the upgrade option and then they apply the upgrade ( 15% ) that is what they do at some stores when they have a sale the night before they change the prices , so the “ Sale “ doesn’t mean anything , but for Sonos to do in such plain fashion is just a very bad business practice !! Makes me question WHY i ever got into this Sonos system .Very dissapointed
He all, I’m setting up a sleep timer on Sonos so the music automatically turns off after a specified time period a lot. Usually, I put one for my cat to be honest, so he is not home alone too long in complete silence. However, I’d wish to have longer times. It’s I think not so difficult to add, but I was wonder if there can be longer times? Like 4, 6, 8 and 10, 12 hours? :)Or something like scheduling times to play music would also be a solution, but that’s more like a new feature. ;-)For the love of our pets. <3
Why does my system always drop out? This is very frustrating and I can't get a real person on a call.
I noticed that I use to have my volume set at a certain volume number and it was perfect for my listening preference, but now it seems I need to turnup the volume setting much much higher today???Also my bass is not pounding like it once use to unless I am turning uo the setting to like 8 setting. It was no where near that before. Something must have changed, what? Dannyo

I have soundbar in the living room and individual speakers in my other rooms. Over a year ago, they suddenly just dropped out like losing connection then after a minute or so come back on sometimes to a different song. I used Spotify and mine is a paid subscription and my wifi was working during those episodes. I read some of the conversations posted and this appears to be a constant like this is part of SONOS that customers have to live with. I tried to troubleshoot getting advise from Google and your SONOS website but nothing seems to work. I got so tired now I just gave up. Can’t imagine why a big brand would let this go unattended or put up an update to fix it. I read also many frustrated customers about to throw out their expensive sound system. This is how a successful company heads toward downfall by not listening to the very customers that made them successful. Maybe a hard lesson will reshape them or maybe an acquisition or buyout with new owners firing all the ignorant people
These Sonos speakers are basically useless for the past 2 years. We have 3 Play 1, one Play 5, and one Move. They’re never all connected anymore. Every time you try to play music, either zero of them are connected or maybe one or 2 are connected. And it’s always different ones so there’s no consistency. I want to sell them all but they’re worthless so who would buy them?? Are other people still having this same issue? Is there anything you’ve tried that works to keep them consistently connected? I feel like the better business bureau should shut Sonos down for this blatant lack of product functionality and pay us all money back. This is so beyond frustrating.
playlist Tidal kan niet worden gecombineerd met Sonos. Wat te doen? Moderator edit:Google Translate-The Tidal playlist isn't compatible with Sonos. What can I do?
Made the mistake of listening to youtube on my mac via airplay, with SoundSource equaliser, adding a 10 band eq and modifying after my preferences. Now i don’t like the normal and trueplay sound anymore. Sonos, please add a full 10 band equaliser, we are talking about sound, and sound is subjective. What i like in my case is to raise ~32 and 250, and lower 64 and 128. Running on Beam, sub mini and 2 ones surround.
