Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

I have spent thousands on amps, speakers, bars.... the connectivity issues are always a problem. I call support, guess what, I know more than they do. Im sick to death of not being able to use my system. They should team up with Musk and put them in Cybertrucks. Take it all to the dump. Sonos is a dying company. Don't buy their worthless products. They simply don't work.
Hey everyone,I'm planning to set up a couple of Sonos speakers in my detached garage, mainly for music while working on projects or just relaxing. I’m wondering whether it's better to run an Ethernet cable from the main house or rely on Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi signal is decent but not perfect, especially when the garage door is closed.Has anyone done something similar? What worked best for you in terms of connection stability and performance? Thanks in advance!Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Set up my account and now when sending and receiving emails it shows Sonos as the name instead of my name. I need to fix this quickly, Help!
So I just spent over $1,500 to add a new Sonos Arc Ultra to my existing Sonos system that I have built over the last 15 years, only to find out that it is incompatible with the Sonos 1 App. I have spent 10’s of thousands of dollars over those 15 years to build a great music system throughout two houses with complete ability to manage my music with the Sonos 1 app.Sadly, I will now stop purchasing any more new Sonos products and will be returning the Sonos Arc Ultra because it demands I use the Sonos 2 app...I am not interested in managing two separate systems.I also have no interest in using the new features of the Sonos 2 App...I am happy just playing good quality sound over the many speakers & sound bars I already have, with complete flexibility of choosing sources and rooms in the old app. This extremely frustrating for me and I am surprised that Sonos can’t allow for the backward compatibility of all new products for the loyal customers who purchased their products over many ye
The title of this post is taken from the cover of Time Magazine's most recent issue. In the age of AI that intersects with our lives on a daily basis I found it very interesting. It doesn’t apply to Sonos directly; but as you may have noticed more SPAM is being AI generated in the community; much to the chagrin of GainSight. OP’s are using the internet to resolve issues with AI generated answers some accurate and some not on a more frequent basis. That said I thought others might be interested to read just as an FYI. AI Tech is evolving at exponential rates. I believe the more we understand it the better prepared we are to deal with it.I personally believe that AI (as it relates to Sonos) will play an increasing role in the future between the end-user and the App as Sonos continues to evolve. So, if you’ve got some spare time and don’t mind reading a rather lengthy article here’s the link.Enjoy and please leave your opinion(s).
I have had a Sonos system for nearly 10 years and it’s always been associated with the same email address. Recently one of my speakers needed to be factory reset and re-added to my system. In the process of doing this I realized that I am no longer considered the owner of my system and while my email and login info will log me into the Sonos app, it does not give me control over my system and won’t let me make any changes including adding speakers. I’ve called Sonos and they were very unhelpful and wouldn’t even verify what the email address is that’s associated with my system. I’ve had an iTunes account stolen from me in the past and Apple was able to give me back control of my iTunes account after removing the Russian email address the hacker attached to my account. Does anyone know how I can regain control of my system without starting over and factory resetting every speaker and adding them to a new account? I have 30+ speakers and this process would take the better part of
I am an avid user of Sonos products for the past 10 years, as well, enthusiastically tout the products to friends and family during this time. It is not my intention to engage in Sonos bashing. My questions is, has your switch from ARC to Ultra gone smoothly, or is it just me??My experience is a bit disappointing. My setup is a Verizon Fios cable box >> Sony Bravia smart TV » TV ARC output to » Arc Untra / L & R rear One SL speakers & Sub Woofer.First - The spatial audio surround qualities when watching a movie is awesome. A noticeable improvement!!!Problem 😢 - (1) When I switch to a different TV channel, audio dies. I have to switch TV to its internal speakers, then back to external speakers, audio resumes. Can you imagine the annoyance. Of course, I tried different HDMI cables, reset all systems, manipulated every TV and Sonos audio parameter to no avail. Remember, the only thing to change was the Arc soundbars. My previous Arc worked just fine. I have a case opened wi
I am just totally at my wits end with dealing with my Sonos system, the bs updates and the meaningless press releases. I’ve had the same constant problems with the app and speakers for years now. Constantly disappearing from my network, cutting out repeatedly if I can actually connect, skipping tracks, looping tracks, it goes on and on. I’ve tried replacing my router with a mesh system, no dice. I’ve tried setting up a separate Sonos network, no dice. Trying to play music in my home, on my speaker system I’ve invested thousands in, shouldn’t be such an endlessly maddening experience.
I have one account with multiple systems. Am I able to name each system under Switch System, instead of it saying Sonos System 1, Sonos System 2 and Sonos System 3? I can’t seem to find a place on the app to where I can change the name. For example, Book Store, Skybox Suite etc. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
I have a Sonos Era 100, and I’m in the UK. I want to use BBC Sounds but it’s not showing in the list of services on the Sonos app. After an hour of chatting with support, they told me my country was set to US and I needed to change it to UK. The problem is that I can’t see the country or my address in the android app, so I believe the only place I can change it is on the web? While I appear to be able to log on (I enter my username and password) when I click on the head and shoulder icon to access my profile, I get a black circle spinning on a white background… And it fails to load. When I explained this to Sonos support, they just said there was a “temporary” problem with their website. I have restarted the Era 100, the router, my laptop, and the router, and I have tried this several times over the last week and I have still not been able to load my profile. I think it might not be a temporary problem after all… anything else I can do?
I was a Technical Program Manager for decades who specializes in Data Science and InfoSec. Worked at Meta and Google. I have seen thousands of development projects. I am in Austin and I will come to your office and explain in detail why you suck so bad, and I wont even charge consulting ratesI was (past tense) a huge Sonos fan. Look at my account to see how my devices I own, and for how long. Easy $30K in devices, if not more. I'm not even going to mention the amount of money I have lost as a shareholder. The app is still unusable trash. You cannot fix it. My wife refuses to even use our Sonos system now because of it. The app is ugly. It looks like bad early 90’s development. It works poorly at best.If Sonos does not start over on app development, the company will fail. After over a decade and house full of devices I am looking at other options. It’s not fixed now because you are not capable of fixing it. If die hard fan customers like me are throwing in the towel, the stock remai
I’m looking for a used Gen 1 or Gen 2 subwoofer.Thanks,Tim
Has anyone tried the double twist app on android to airplay your music to the Beam 2 and are there any problems with it. I've downloaded it but I need to pay £15 to be able to use airplay. Any feed back would be appreciated.
Saved by my internal clock, I would have missed the Sonos alarm because a recent update seems to have suppressed the sound level. So, the volume I had set for an automatic alarm with music could not be heard!!!!I invested so much in Sonos...I am having serious regrets.
J'ai commandé et paye 2 sonos et la commande n apparaît pas sur mon compte sonos. Comment puis je faire ?
I realize I’m screaming into the void here, but what has happened to Sonos’ software quality? I know the launch of the new app was a disaster, but that was -- what? -- more than a year ago? And things only seem to have gotten worse.I’ve just spent the better part of an hour trying, and failing, to group some of my speakers together, using both the Mac desktop app and the iPhone app. The Sonos status page says everything is peachy. The connection from my Port to my Era 300 and Move has become spotty, frequently cutting out entirely and even when it is working, it continuously drops ½ a second out of every 3. Even the signup page for this community is a complete disaster. “Choose a unique username” it says, but doesn’t tell you if the username you chose is unique until you submit … and then clears the entire rest of the form when it isn’t.Does no-one working at Sonos actually use their products? It’s quite frankly embarrassing.
So system transfer doesn’t work. Dealer set up doesn’t work. Just keeping 2 roams paired as stereo speakers works 8% of the time. And when it does it will constantly drop one whenever it feels like. Why are we pushing new hardware when the software is absolute garbage? I’m one more issue away from dropping my dealer status and selling something else. If it’s not setup issues it’s connection issues. Grouped rooms dropping at random. Rooms disappear randomly from the system. Insane delays from volume controls or song changes. And the fact that everytime you call Sonos you get some different answer as to why their products don’t work today. One day it’s hardware everything. The next it’s only the soundbars using surround. It seems like they need to fire the new CEO and another 11% staff.
So About 10 yrs ago I dropped 10k on a full house set up. Honestly loved it.. not full audiophile but wow.. bees knees. Wtf Sonos !!! Hold your heads in shame!!When you get info that your s*** is not compatible after 5 yrs that was tough but now my mixed system does what the f*** u tell it to!!! I'm loosing rooms left right and centre... and b4 u interject and tell me to speak to tech... do 1... everything they advise about versions of controllers and all this s1 and s2 ... jog on... I can't update cos of my mixed system and all your fixes involve an update... which it won't allow and I can't remove cos its not highlighted!!!... Really .. I've got Undercrackers older and they still do the job they where bought for.. off to the bose shop!!Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
May 20 2025…..This morning I got the new update…..I have access to create a Playlist!!!!!! I can edit!!!!! I can create one!!!!! The nightmare is over!
I was one of the first to get on board with Sonos. Right at the beginning. For so long I've been loyal to my belief in Sonos. Through all of their mistakes, missteps, and disasters, I've held true to my belief in Sonos. After all these years, I think I'm just about exhausted and done. All my Sonos products are heading to online marketplaces, with all the ever growing number of other Sonos products.I can't understand why Sonos can't sort this out. After all the incremental improvements after "the big bad update" The interface is still total rubbish. Improvements from total unusable s***, to generally disappointing rubbish, after all this time has broken me.I had a bunch of friends home a few nights ago, tried to wave the Sonos flag, and the system s*** itself, yet again. My friends giggled and joked, as I fetched my JBL Flip 5 to be able to spin some tunes.I'm not surprised that Sonos makes it so hard to contact them directly. They know that they have their backs against the wall with th
Upgrade programma ik heb dive spullen draaien van jullie als ik de upgrade doe , blijf alles wel werken en update wat ik heb draaien groetjes herman
I’m just curious if there is a system issue, or an issue with the company right now? my first experience with my issue was very good and I truly appreciate the support Sonos gave me. Kudos. the follow up has been terrible, however no communication, no action, and repeated wait 24 to 48 hours and we will contact you along with throwing the word expedited review around this has been really subpar customer service, which is ironic because the initial customer service I got was excellent I think Sonos is a good company so I’m just wondering if there’s issues right now Just be honest about it and we’ll work through it
I have used my Sonos speakers with little problem (other than when used with Spotify in the past, the volume would randomly jump to max). I used to love my system. Now? Well... I left for a business trip for three weeks. When I returned, my wife’s new account wasn’t working. I called service and they did troubleshooting over the phone. This took about 45 minutes of very troublesome work. It turned out that my system crashed because it was on a mesh network (which I have had for as long as I have owned Sonos products). The new app must have been the culprit. I had to take everything down to factory settings, use a “PIN” number that was so small and useless, I could not read it with a magnifying glass. The tech even had problems seeing it with my phone magnification. I don’t remember using this “PIN” number when I set it up. I had to disable my TP Link mesh network, rename my extenders. Another 25 minutes of wasted time. Terrible. Now I have to manually switch wifi networks betw
I purchased an on the move set in olive (roam and move 2) from Sonos AU, shipping on the roam was quick and efficient, But… i didn't hear anything on the Move 2, after a week or two i emailed the support asking about an ETA and if there was an issue. Days later i got and response saying that they had an innovatory issue, and they are waiting for more orders, they are happy to send one out when they get them in (in olive) or i could change my order for a black or white. when i reiterated the question around the ETA they went radio silence, and i haven't had a response since. I’m feeling very disappointed, around the whole experience. lack of communication from order to the issue with the order to the lack of responses when you reach out. Any one else had similar issues?
