This is a very unscientific analysis of the Roam battery drain after 3 hours of use. Roam placement: Outdoors in partly shaded area Roam Mode: WiFiMusic source: SiriusXM Watercolors Jazz and R&BOutdoor Temperature: 74 degreesBattery initial charge 100%Battery After 3 hours of use: 74%Average Battery Drain: 100 minus 74 = 26 divided by 3 = 8.67. 100 divided by 8.67= 11.53 hours estimated use.As I said in the beginning this analysis has no basis in science, but can be used to suggest that the Roans battery use is approximately 10 - 11 hours under the conditions set forth. Of course your use may be equal or less. I doubt it would be better?
First of all; I am totally new to Sonos and have never owned a Sonos product before. After reading good reviews, I was thinking of getting 3x Sonos One for a hotel lobby. We are aiming to just play relaxing background music so I thought they would be perfect to syncronize them through some different rooms. However, I am a bit concerned that guests might be able to connect to the speakers and play their own music. If I establish a second WiFi and connect the Sonos to them, and disable Alexa/Google Assistant, will that be enough to avoid people from connecting, or can they still connect through cast/airplay?
My Sonos roam will connect and play music on its own, but when I try to group my kitchen Sonos and it together it won’t play music!! You can stop and start music from either one but it won’t play, and vice versa when I play the kitchen Sonos then try and group the roam. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have an existing 5.1 Non Sonos in ceiling surround home theater system wired to a Yamaha A/V Receiver. I would like to eliminate the receiver and add an ARC for Front Speakers and use the in ceiling speakers for surround speakers. I was planning on using a Non Sonos amp to power the ceiling speakers. Is this possible? I was also planning to add a Port to this system to listen to music services. thx
Building a house. Have access to wall or ceiling. Small TV/media room. Current have ceiling speakers wired but is this an ok choice? Should I make them in wall?
I purchased a Samsung TV Q90T with a Sonos ARC & surround sound speakers in November 2020 & have had nothing but issues. For the first two months I had audio cutting out. Samsung & Sonos finally got it figured out. I was also experiencing Lip Sync issues & that appears to be resolved. Sometimes I notice a delay, but not like it was. This morning my TV was working fine & I turned volume down & when I tried to turn volume back up my surround sound stopped working. Now I’m getting an error message saying Sonos Arc HDMI 3 No Signal. I have disconnected my DVR, Wifi router, TV from ARC, & surround sound speakers & rebooted & refreshed my TV to no avail. When I called Sonos Support their hours are Monday through Friday….REALLY?? I sent the CEO an email & asked why don’t they have support people available on the weekend when most people are at home on the weekend watching their TV’s. I’m seriously considering taking my Sonos back & getting
I realize this topic has been posted multiple times and Sonos has yet to deliver...I was told today on a chat to post this again and hopefully others will jump on board. My perspective is this is a simple addition. Sonos please make it happen!

Hi, I have a pair of Sonos Play:1 speaker which have been of limited use due to limited connectivity (no AirPlay support and requirement to get premium plans on Spotify/ and other streaming services via Sonos App)With the new Roam and AirPlay and/or bluetooth support - can I :AirPlay from iphone to Roam which then pairs & relays to Play:1 Connect fireTV to Roam (bluetooth) which then relays to Play:1Option 2 is to use Sonos S1 instead of Roam - with the downside that S1 does not gives you the portability of Roam
If i have an arc, sub gen3 and 2 one sl can I get a would they work with the Sonos amp if i wanted to connect a non Sonos sup to the amp! Would they all work together? Plus i have theater seats with sound shakers in them that require being hooked to a amplifier
Hi I am running a small SMAPI, witch runs the Sonos Cloudqueue functions witch works fine with the Sonos Move. But when executing the command on a Sonos One SL. Any developers that can help me out? Any help will be highly apriciated.
I just got a new laptop, running MacOS 11.2.3 (Big Sur). I downloaded the S1 controller and was prompted to enable it in accessibility, which I did. When I launch the app it says “Searching for your sonos system” and becomes unresponsive and beach-balls. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-installing.Any tips for how I can get this working?(and no I can’t upgrade to S2)
If I limit the max. volume in the Sonos app for the Roam, like setting 50 %, the system sounds for on, off and bluetooh occurs still at 100 %. They should also be synced to 50 % percent. So if I set the Roam to max volume pushing the buttons on the Roam. I hear the music at 50 % and the system sounds are much to loud at 100 %. Any other user with the same issue or a solution?
Hello,My Sonos Arc until Now,Respond perfectly to my LG oled gx Magic Remote Control. Why it Stop Working Suddenly,Without touching/changing Nothing? Please help Me.Waiting to your help…Best Regards.Yossi.
So the Roam is supposed to have a “swap” ability (swap music to and from another Sonos speaker) - by pressing and holding the play button. But what if I want to press and hold the play button on the Roam to “group” with other speakers already playing in the house - as I can do now with other Sonos speakers (not swap). Is that still possible with the Roam using the press/hold on play (if so, how is that differentiated from the “swap” function)? I know the app could do this regardless, but wondering if you can group a Roam by holding the play button (instead of opening the app)?
Hi,I have a pair of Play:1’s connected as a Stereo pair.Windows PC, Phone are able to connect to it with the controller app, Mac can’t. Don’t know if important but Spotify on Mac IS able to play music on the system. All devices are on the same wifi.I have a pair of TP-Link Deco M9 Plus mesh operating as an access point, connected to my cable company’s router to the internet.I have disabled VPN on the Mac, made sure Sonos was allowed in mac firewall, disabled antivirus. I recently moved, but all gear (except cable company router) was with me and working in my previous house and everything was working fine there. EDIT: I tried connecting one of the speakers with an ethernet cable (and disabled its wifi) and there’s no change.Any advice? Thanks
Hi, Just a quick question. I’ve apply to use the Sonos Upgrade Programme but wondered what happens a to your product? Do you lose functionality or software upgrade etc? Does Sonos stop support? thanks K
Can anyone advise if its possible to add this link to Sonos? 144.76.39.214:8001/stream I tried to add a station on the Windows software but it does not allow it. My dad loves this station and I’m having a heck of a time trying to add it. Thanks.
Setup:TV: Samsung UN60H7150 -- Doesn’t support DD passthrough, and app support is old enough that I don’t use.Sonos: Playbar, Sub, (2) :1 rearsInput: FireTV through an HDMI switch w/ an integral optical splitter. Also a PS4 connected to switch. The FireTV actually has a version of Netflix that outputs Dolby Digital, not +. I’d like to upgrade to something less clunky than Fire TV, I frankly don’t like the Amazon interface, and lately the device seems to be restarting on its own multiple times a day. But it seems everything out there only supports Netflix in DD+. Is there anything else out there that can output DolbyDigital Netflix, without requiring either a new TV or an Arc??
Hello,I’ve read about many compatibility issues between the Arc soundbar and Samsung tv’s. I have a Samsung Q80T and want to make sure Dolby Atmos will work if I buy this soundbar. Could someone confirm whether the latest firmware updates on both Sonos and Samsung’s sides have addressed the issues. Thanks !Erik
Hi my new Sonos amp continues to disconnect from the Sonia system. I had spent over 6hrs with Sonos help trying to resolve the issue (amp connected via Ethernet cable) only to be advised that I need to set up a separate mesh network for it to work. Well I have now done this with a tp link AC1300 whole home mesh and I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM!! There was never a problem with the first gen amp. I am sooo fed up with Sonos now that after being an advocate for years I am advising people not to bother. Have spent a small fortune in upgrading and have a system that is not fit for purpose. Are any of you able to help? The mesh signal is really strong in the room where the amp is. It it continues to drop out from the system I am at my wits end
I understand that you can group together other pairs of surround Sonos products to a existing 5.1 setup. However I would much rather be able to pair four ones to a beam as a single group so it’s a genuine surround in comparison to grouping others to imitate stereo and surround together. A 7.1 system update in the app to allow this I believe everyone could get behind.
Hi All, I have recently purchased an iPhone 12 mini. I have true-played with the iPhone 2-3 times now. My ARC just sounding very tinny now, has anyone else had this issue? are the newer iPhones an issue when true-playing?
