I have two Sonos play One & two Sonos play 5 all Gen 1. Also have playbar. Am wondering what subwoofer is compatible. Using S1 app as S2 app isn’t compatible with Play5/gen1. Thoughts please? 

I have mac mini + projector(LG HF85LS) connected with hdmi.I'm wondering if I could connect sonos amp with mac mini(I have passive speaker which connect with sonos amp). If I could connect by airplay2, then could I watch Netflix with no delay between sound and movie?Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I’m new to the community but have been a Sonos user since 2013. I have a pretty complete system and looking to enhance the sound in one of my large rooms. I currently have in that room 2 x One (stereo pair) on wall brackets in the corners and 1 x Five on the kitchen counter.I’m not getting enough dept from my Ones and would like to upgrade. A pair of Fives would be over doing it price wise and a pair Move’s the same especially since I dont need the mobility. I can get my hands on a pair of Play 3’s for a decent price but I’m wondering how long will the Play 3’s be supported with on S2.Any thoughts?Thank you in advance!Francois

Hello,I have the Arc for my family room set up which is a larger room with high ceilings. I am looking to upgrade my basement set up with either another Arc or get the Beam. The room is much smaller which leads me to my question. Would the Arc be overkill or would the Beam work for smaller room. The Arc is amazing but it seems to be too powerful for a smaller man cave area. Leave me with some thoughts or suggestions!Thanks

I want to use an ARC as front with the TV, hooked up with ARC hdmi cable.Use AMP unit designated as rear amp to drive ceiling mount surround speakers.In this set up can the AMP sub output drive a slave amp and a in-wall sub?Will it be putting out the proper bass information?Will I be able to control the level?   

I have a SONOS ARC + SUB  in one room of a LARGE home.In another part of the home I have a rack of SONOS AMPS driving multi room audio.I tried adding the AMP driving the ceiling speakers to the room where I installed the SONOS ARC and sub. I cannot get the surrounds to Join…. the SONOS tech tells me the ARC uses a 5Ghz band to communicate DIRECTLY with the SONOS AMP for the surround channels.  and that the AMP in the rack must be too far away for this 5GHz signal -coming form the ARC to reach.    Huh? why isnt the ARC the  WIFI network?I tried hard wiring the ARC and the SONOS AMP to the switch.. still wont join.. any ideas ? what is really happening? do I REALLY need to move the SMP into the same room as theARC? - seems strange to have to do this.

I’m considering the Beam Soundbar for my covered patio TV. On both side of the TV I have  Polk Audio speakers run by a Sonos Connect Amp. If I install the Beam to my TV, will the two Polk speakers group with the Beam giving me center channel in the Beam and left right channels on the Polk speakers?  My TV does not have an ARC output so I will be using the optical audio out to the Beam.

Hi Sonos novice here, got a big birthday coming up and want to treat myself. I can't decide on whether to get 2 x Roam or a Move speaker. I want to be able to take music in the garden at a reasonable sound level, but blast it in the house? Can anybody advise what is best to get, and/or how loud 2 x Roam are.......thanks.

Hey guys. I´ve been reading many topics about this issue, but none of them could help me get through my problem. I have a LG GX plugged to My Sonos Beam (with paired Sonos One stereo pair) via HDMI ARC port (the HDMI port 2 on TV). The first time I plugged them together it just worked, the TV told me a sound output was found and offered me to use it. It was all great, until I´ve turned the tv OFF. From that moment I had no sound at all (using HDMI ARC, with Airplay 2 it´s all OK). I´ve unplugged it all and restored tv to Factory Settings, but this time I´ve disabled the “quick start” option of the tv (as mentioned for a user in a forum). It worked the first time, then the issue came back, no sound at all. My cables are HDMI 2.1, and just to make sure, I´ve used the original one provided with the Beam. The sound is OK, just fine but when you have thousands of title and you want to find one using the search tool of your GUI, you have 99% chances not finding it.How come, in 2021, a company like yours could not improve such a basic feature?Thanks

I use the Sonos 1 Ap to control:A TV surround with a Beam and two Play 1 (first gen)A grouped pair with a Play 1(first gen) and a Play One (second gen)If I buy a Move and swap with the single Play 1 will the whole system work on the updated Sonos Ap?  How does the Neam/ play 1 surround work?  

I’ve been having a bit of an issue with my LG CX + Apple TV + Sonos Arc and have been searching for solutions to no avail. Every recommendation I’ve come across has been to set the Digital Sound Out to “passthrough” to receive Atmos unprocessed to the Arc via the TV from the ATV 4K. But when this setting is selected, the image clears out momentarily and the Dolby Vision notification disappears from the screen and the HDR logo appears in it’s place. The screen also appears much brighter.Changing the Digital Sound Out to “Auto” fixes this. But I’m not sure why selecting “passthrough” for an audio output is impacting the video at all.I thought this might be an issue with the Apple TV, but an Xbox Series X performs in the same manner. Oddly, the internal TV apps can be set to “passthrough” for the Digital Sound Out and the Dolby Vision works fine.I’m trying to get the highest quality sound to the Arc without also compromising picture quality. The audio settings for the LG CX are:Sound out:

Is it possible to have the TV sound coming through an Arc, auto group to a Sonos Amp that is not connected as surround? I would like for my TV sound to play through the Amp connected to the kitchen ceiling speakers, when I turn on the TV.The issue is that when the news is on the TV, there is no surround information, therefore there's no sound when using the Amp in surround mode. Also when listening to the cable music channels through the TV, only surround sound effects come out of the kitchen ceiling speakers. 

I have installed the new Roam and have noticed that when used with my other Sonos speakers the volume is low. I use the alarm every day and it is set to 30%. This is fine with all other grouped speakers but the Roam is considerably quieter.

I recently purchased the Sonos Surround Set. The Arc wasn't working, so I ordered a replacement. I've now had some time to play about with the system. My thoughts: 1) The sound quality is good, but I'm not blown away. I only get a "Wow!" feeling when listening to Dolby Atmos test footage. Now, I realise that sound quality depends on the source, but I wasn't blown away by Blu-Rays and Netflix films that supposedly have good sound quality. 2) The sub seems to make no difference. It is definitely connected and active, but there's no difference when I switch it off and on.  3) The rear speakers (Sonos Ones) are good, but I find that I have to be really close to them to get the benefit. This might be a personal thing. When it comes to the rear speakers, I don't really want a subtle sound that you hear occasionally. I want to feel like I'm in the middle of the film. 4) Night Mode seems to make no difference. Voice Enhancement seems to make no difference. 5) I tested T2 Judgment Day on Blu Ra

Hello,  I have a old 2018 Samsung forgot which model but I’m getting Dolby 2.0 and not 5.1?I have the Sonos Arc, 2x SL for the rear and Sub3. Connect with HDMI on arc connection.I was streaming movie on the TV with Netflix and HBO with Dolby 5.1 etc… but still getting Dolby 2.0 and I have switch to pcm and bitstream and still get Dolby 2.0.  It sound great but just wondering if i did something wrong.

I have a Sonos Roam which is want to use as both a portable speaker but also as an integrated room music device. I have the wireless charger too.The roam turns itself off or goes into sleep mode after a certain time, which means it will not react to voice commands. When I am using it as a room music device I want the speaker to stay on, and even when on the wireless charging stand still turns off. The only way I have managed to get it to stay turned on it to connect via the charging cable. Is there a way to turn off the sleep function so I can use the wireless charging station when using as a room music device? Mod Edit: changed “Sonos Move” to “Sonos Roam” for clarity.

I’ve had my Sonos Roam and wireless charger for about a week. It’s been in my office the whole time. Today, I noticed there was no longer a magnetic connection between the Roam and the wireless charger. Why would this happen?

For the past couple of weeks, I was problematic about my Sonos Playbase. I thought it had a physical defect because after three years of usage, the sound all of a sudden was very tinny--all treble and no bass. For troubleshooting, I went through process of resetting each Sonos (I have a 5.1 system of Playbase, Sub and 2x Play:1), and setting it up from scratch and then tuning with Trueplay at the end. I did this twice. There was no improvement. So I wrote CEO Patrick an email and got a reply from Sonos Support. They assigned me a Case # and I was waiting for an RMA from Sonos appointed distributor Tat Chuan Acoustics in Singapore (I’m located in the Philippines). I decided to separate the satellites so I could use the Play:1’s with the Sub for music in the meantime. While playing Spotify, I went into the app and tapped on “Remove Surrounds”. Instantly, and to my pleasant surprise, the Playbase sounded normal again. I re-added the two Play:1s back as satellites and the Playbase’s sound

Sonos, please create a software update that will regulate, or keep consistent the fluctuations in volume for Loud commercials.  This will be a game changer and I feel as though it's gotten worse on streaming applications.  The volume of commercials is so loud you need to sit there and lower the volume, then increase when your program returns.  The FCC will do nothing, and even if they did you would have to file complaints against each commercial.  After purchasing the ARC, sub and  Sonos One’s to create a home theatre system, I will only upgrade to a new system or television that will offer this option, as it has become such a nuisance. Advertisers will continue to push the limits until it has gotten out of control.
