I have two Sonos play One & two Sonos play 5 all Gen 1. Also have playbar. Am wondering what subwoofer is compatible. Using S1 app as S2 app isn’t compatible with Play5/gen1. Thoughts please?

You can use either the Sub (Gen 1) or Sub (Gen 2) with the S1 app. The Sub (Gen 3) is only compatible with the S2 app.

Same answer - Sub (Gen 1) or Sub (Gen 2). You would need to buy it used because Sonos is not selling those models anymore.
+18With your set up only the Sonos Sub (but since you are on S1 only the Gen 1 and Gen 2) is compatible.
Only the Sonos Amp can be used with a non-Sonos subwoofer.
