I am setting up some outdoor speakers for my pool area. Additonally, I sometimes also set up a projector outside, plug a chromecast in and stream sports. For audio, I had a 3.5mm cord to connect the projector to a cheap portable speaker. That said, Im hoping to take advantage of the outdoor speakers for audio. I purchased a nice Onkyo receiver, with the plan being to to plug a chromecast to the receiver, have it power the the speakers, and use a wireless hdmi transceiver I own to get video to the projector. THEN someone mentioned Sonos and Im down a rabbit hole and looking for suggestions. My assumption is I still need the receiver bc of the streaming video to the projector part. Using a port to involve the sonos ecosytem (add soundbar that i can move between the projector and my actual home tv) is out it seems bc Im reading there would be a huge delay. Is that correct? Would connecting the outdoor speakers via Amp (not connected to the receiver) then a Port to the receiver (for han
Hello all, I recently added the Sonos Arc to go with the Sonos One SLs and Sonos Sub, and while I’m happy with how the bass sounds, I’ve noticed a heavy amount of sibilance with “ess” sounds from the Arc that I am unable to correct. I’ve run Trueplay numerous times, turned Trueplay on and off, and adjusted EQ with no success. Loudness is off and turning it on makes no difference. Is this a common problem with the Arc and are there any suggestions on how to correct this?
Hi I would like to buy some new speakers but have a set of decks and a huge Rotel stereo thats old but barley used so want to retain the separates. What Sonos speakers will work with my set up and be able to withstand the 200wpc please?
I just bought a new Samsung QLED 43Q64A TV (to replace a 5Y old Samsung). Connection through optical with my sonos playbase works fine. However I noticed that even when the TV is switched off, it keeps the optical connection. Hence I get the below message every time I want to use to sonos music App. Could we not just get rid of this message in the app ? If I switch on the App I know it will use the interface...no need to remind me or ask me “If I am sure”...Of course Samsung should release the port when the TV is off...(as it worked with the old TV)
I can’t find anywhere this has been requested before, which I find surprising. I think there should be the ability to select multiple rooms when configuring an alarm. Yes I know you can select to include grouped rooms. But this relies on someone checking that rooms are grouped correctly before going to bed. We have tried and failed to do this consistently in a busy household - it’s not a satisfactory solution. The alarm should have the ability to group rooms to achieve the desired outcome. We have tried setting the same alarm up in multiple rooms, but this produces an impossibly pronounced echo effect!!
I clicked upgrade on one of my Sonos 1 by a mistake. I dont want to Trade it. Is it possible to undo this by not using The discount ticket? Can I still use The speaker or Will it disconnect or something?
I have a Play 3 that I really like. Is there something similar that can remain outdoors? I would like music around my pool and have electrical outlets available. My preference would be to use wifi or bluetooth with speakers that I plug into power.Does this exist? Thanks
I’m considering buying a set of Play 3’s since they are available for around $100 used, but I’m wondering how much longer they will be usable. I use S2 to control my beam, sub, move, and connect. It sounds like the way Sonos handles these situations is they will eventually stop supporting it and stop providing updates, then one day certain services may stop working when the streaming services like Spotify are updated to a newer technology than the Play 3 can handle. Or will Sonos just brick the Play 3 and offer people a discount to upgrade? If I can get 2 or 3 years out of the Play 3’s it’ll probably be worth it.
Do i need to add a Sub or can i just connect two One SL’s to my Arc for surround sound?
Hi there,I just upgraded to a brand new Samsung TV, and joined the Sonos world for the first time with an Arc sound bar, plus a sub. We’re really impressed with the sound, having upgraded from a 10yr old Sony. We also bought a couple of Move speakers to stream music to, one to use upstairs and one for downstairs. The downside is that our now much more finely attuned ears (!) notice how crummy our bedroom TV sounds. I’ve checked, and did a bit of searching on the web, and the bedroom TV won’t seem to connect to the upstairs Move speaker, and am thinking a Beam sound bar might be a better investment anyway. The TV is a few years old and just wanted to sense check with the community that the TV should connect and play sound through a Beam rather than the TV speakers OK. There doesn’t seem to be a sound bar option in the TV settings menu. I found the requirements for a Beam at: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1920?language=en_US and have checked, and my TV does have an HDMI ARC socket,
Hi I have been going through blogs and researching online how to figure this out. I am trying to connect my arc to my projector screen to stream with my firestick. After researching I learned you needed a matrix switch box (a few different names to it). I was able to connect my projector screen and arc using this switch and I plugged the firestick directly to the matrix box. The issue is there is no sounding coming from the arc now. I can see my firestick is working off the projector but no sound and I am completely stuck here, any recommendations?
Youtube is basicly free but it looks like that Sonos app do not accept free account. So we need to pay Youtube Premium to be able to play music with Sonos. Did Sonos think about its customers by adding the option to sync the image of the video to cast it in our smart TVs?
I currently have a pair of Fives set up as stereo for music only listening. I’m using a turntable and CD deck as sources. Works great. I was wondering if I could add another pair of either Ones or Fives to the existing Fives for multi channel audio like SACDs?
Sonos first came to market at the perfect time, they were not the first, or possibly the best at the time, but they brought desirable products to the market at a time when people were willing to spend good sums of money for reliable, high quality products. In particular they were the best solution for people who wanted to stream their existing digital audio collection at the best quality, Sonos devices supported network streams of uncompressed of audio and also supported uncompressed FLAC files for even higher quality. This is why I and so many other customers invested thousands in Sonos hardware. But times move on….Over the years Sonos has failed to innovate in their primary arena of products which used to be the market leader in the highest quality audio and which justified their high price tag and in doing so have ditched their cash cow users. Instead they have put all their resources into online streaming services (sacrificing quality and alienating their core userbase), creating ni
Hos can I se which WiFi Move is use when I had 3 WiFi configured in Sonos app?
I recently started a free trial of Apple Music. I have an iTunes library of about 32,500 tracks which are currently being uploaded to the Apple Music cloud.I have downloaded a couple of albums from Apple Music which appear in my iTunes library and in the Apple Music library, but, do not appear in the main Sonos library. Is this usual?
I’ve a very simple setup, yet can’t find a straight answer online. How do I connect my Sonos beam to my Denon A/V receiver (as center/front channels) along with Bose inceiling speakers as rear channels? I’m planning to buy a Sonos port/connect

And Also I can not use my android phone. With Sonos APP it works well, but in sonos app I can not add music to my library and playlist. How can I manage this to work ?Thanks in advance for your help.
my s1 controller has not worked on my Mac for a while now. works fine on my iPhone I have not changed my router or any settings.
My sound switches to night mode randomly throughout each day. Is there a way to keep night mode off?
Does anybody have any direct comparisons between the Beam and Yamaha YAS209?I can’t decide whether the Yamaha with it’s separate sub will outperform the Beam. I would consider adding IKEA Symfonisk to the Beam as surrounds but the budget does not stretch to the Sonos sub. Yamaha is £319 atm and Sonos £399 + 2 x£89 for a pair of Symfonisks. Existing user of a Sonos One (love it) and have an old Yamaha TSS15 5.1 theater setup for TV which has served well over the years, so wanting to move forwards from this. TIA
Can I use the Sonos Move to listen to programmes on an LG smart tv ?
Hi everyone,if I have a Beam plus 2 x IKEA Symfonisk as a surround system, which of the speakers will be the default for music playback when using Beam as a smart speaker?Would it just come from Beam, or could I set the surrounds to ‘full’ and have music playback from all three? TIA
I am planning to get a Roam and leave it constantly plugged in to use it primarily as a wifi speaker, with the option of taking it out and about when needed. My question is, will leaving it constantly plugged in degrade the battery life? The FAQ for the Move explicitly states that leaving it on the charging base will not degrade battery life. However, the equivalent FAQ for the Roam is notably missing this reference. Thanks for your help!
I have a pair of Fives that are used exclusively for listening to music. They’re hooked up to a turntable and a dedicated CD player. The Fives can go really low. That said, would I gain much if I added a subwoofer into the mix?Thoughts?
