Good morning. New to this forum.I have purchased a Beam 2 and hooked it up to my Sony Xr55a90j Works fine but with HD terrestrial channels e.g. itv, c4 and bbc HD because the sound format is different to standard def the volume is quieter. For normal about 30 works for me but change to an HD channel and have to increase to 40 at least. Is there any way round this? Also is there any way to power save the beam off. Ideally would be nice to switch it off and on with the Sony remoteThanks
Hi I have a beam gen1 and sub in my lounge,I’m thinking about upgrading to an arc but wondering if an arc and sub would be too much in a 16x12 room it will be connected to a Sony a84j tv with e arc Tia
Somebody sent me a file on whatsapp. how do I play it on my Sonos system ?
I just updated the SONOS V2 app to V14.0 Build 67125130 on an iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and they both will randomly not show the playlist that have been previously created. If we force close the SONOS V2 app then it will some time show the playlist. Both iPhones have been updated to iOS 15.3 and have been rebooted numerous times. All music has been ripped to the FLAC format and is stored on a SYNOLOGY DS1821+ NAS running the latest DSM 7.x operating system.
I appreciate that Amazon have changed the format of their products and you can access less with prime however I still have more functionality when I use the Amazon Music app vs accessing Amazon via the Sonos app. For instance on the amazon app I can still see track listings on certain albums whereas on the Sonos app it just launches into playing the album and I’m not able to look at it select certain tracks?

RE: TV with surround sound and sound bar independant from surround sound.I want to be able to toggle between using the sound bar and sourround sound, in other words I don't want to have surround sound on all the time.Tech said todays TV's don't allow for the toggle back and forth (HDMI)? optical?A solution might be a Sonos amp and a sonos sound bar that would work but I have a few concerns.Do I have to use the Sonos phone app to change volume? Can I toggle between sonos sound beam and surround sound (sonos amp)Can I use the DirecTV box/remote to adjust volume
If you select an album the music that plays is not the album of choice and album contents (songs) not shown
Hello,a SonoS one has been stolen, is there a way to find where it is ,if connected to wi fi, and/or de activate it?
I have a Fire TV Stick 4K plugged into my Optoma UHZ50 HDMI Port (2). I’m running an HDMI cable from the Projector’s HDMI ARC to the Sonos Amp. Everything sounds great, except the volume +/- buttons on the Fire TV Stick Remote control do not work. The mute button does, curiously, but the +/- do not. I’ve tried messing with the Fire TV Stick “Equipment Management” options to no avail. Is anyone else running a Fire TV Stick with an HDMI-ARC to a Sonos Amp and able to control volume with the remote? FWIW, I also have an AppleTV plugged into HDMI 3 and it works just fine, I just needed to select the appropriate speakers in the AppleTV Audio menu. I don’t have a similar option in the Fire TV settings. What’s bugging me is the mute button works, but the volume +/- do not. Any thoughts?
I recently bought my first Sonos speakers (a set of Sonos One SLs from Costco setup as a stereo pair). I added YouTube Music after a couple of hiccups (something to do with “brand accounts”) and am able to play music on the speakers. I have an individual YTM Premium subscription.I am running to two, probably related, issues:Launch Sonos app | Search for a song | long press | Play Now: This plays the song, but then stops after that song is done. In contrast, on the YTM app, I have ”Autoplay” enabled and clicking on the “Up Next” tab shows a long list of similar/recommended songs. This does not seem to work similarly within the Sonos app. Launch Sonos app | Search for a song | long press | more | Start Radio: This starts the “Radio” feature - but with a completely random song and not the song I searched for. Is this expected? The song is not completely random though -- each time I search for aspecific song and launch the radio, the same “random” song starts playing. Is this a known issue
Hi allFor some reason when I click on any playlists it just auto plays and does not open the playlist to let me see the songs in it. I have removed Amazon and re added it to my Sonos App. See screenshot attached
Moving into a new house and looking for a setup for music listening (no movies) in a large open-concept space (entry, dining room, living room, kitchen). The speakers would be placed on top of the mantel. Listening levels would range from background music to fully cranked. My wife would listen to mostly classical (piano) and I would listen to a wide range of genres.Considering whether stereo paired Fives or Ones would be better, and whether a Sub or Sub-mini would be better. Significant price differentials here, I know. I wish the Fives had voice control. For reference, the home theater (very large) space will probably have dual 15” subs. Thanks for the advice!
Sonos released another minor patch 14.19.1. No details are provided yet. Has anyone updated? Any feedback?
I’ve 2 old play5 gen 1 and want to purchase a Sonos product that will connect with the old technology help please 🙏
Hi all,I’ve looked through the manual and help files and cannot find this answer. Can you do this?I want to get a Arc soundbar and then used my two Play 5’s as a left and right channel to the Arc as the center channel. Can this be done?I can see how to make the Play 5 a stereo pair and I can see how to make the Play 5’s surround speakers, but I don’t want that...I’m looking to have the Play 5’s work with the Arc in front of me as my left/right mains and the bar dead center. Can this be done?Maybe its just that simple….make the Play 5’s a stereo pair, put them in front of me in the left/righ position, add the Arc and done…..not sure if that will actually work as they all need to talk to each other.Thoughts?Thx!!
sub will not power up. plug is fully pushed in and in power socket that works. have not used sub for over 12 months as been away from this house.
Hi there,My friends offered me a Pro-Ject T1 record player a few months back.It is a Project T1 regular (not the SB one) with cables attached directly to the device.I never owned a record player before and I am quite excited but I am not sure which sonos I should get to connect to my already owned Sonos One x2 and Beam.I see a lot of stuff related to the SB itself. Would anyone know if the port is sufficient? Or if I need the amp?Would love to get some help here! Thanks,Amélie
Hello,A new sonos user here and I’ve just bought a Gen 2 soundbar. It’s plugged into my 43 inch LG tv via HDMI Arc and it sounds good/loud. I watched Thor on Disney + which is supposed to be in Dolby Atmos but I didn’t hear anything to suggest I was hearing atmos. Is there a way to tell from the app or the soundbar itself?if I look on the app it says Stereo PCM. If I change the settings on the TV to pass through the app changes to Dolby 5.1. I presume I don’t want this as I only have the Gen, no surrounds or sub. Also it sounds terrible. any ideas to know I am hearing atmos? A particular film I could try?many thanks for your help!J.
Hi - I had Comcast as my wifi with my Sonos and had no issues. When I added eero with three nodes, while keeping my Comcast router, my sonos playbar would no longer connect. I direct connected the playbar to eero with an ethernet cable, opened the Sonos app and forgot my wifi system > network > manage network (even though it has the same name and PW), and went through the process to “fix the connection”. I tried to connect to the wifi once and it failed. So I tried again and unplugged the Ethernet cable while it was connecting. Fixed all my issues and works great (without resetting a bunch of settings). Thought I’d share if it helps!
I Sonos planning to fix this or is my Play 5 now junk?
Hi,I have Sonos Beam gen. 2 with to Sonos One SL as rear speakers. As my wife is hard of hearing we use an apple airport express to connect her headphones to the Apple TV via AirPlay. The beam is connected to a LG Oled via eARC. LG ist set to “passthrough”.When we’re watching Dolby Atmos movies and activate AirPlay additionally the Sonos app shows “stereo PCM” and I hear at least up mixed stereo from the rear speaker. But when I watch non-Atmos movies (for e.g. 5.1) the Sonos app shows Multi-Channel PCM 7.1 and the rear speakers don’t receive any sound information and are muted when we activate AirPlay additionally. Can anyone help me to understand this behaviour? What can I do to at least have stereo up mix output on the rear speakers when watching 5.1 movies.
Hello, i didn’t find answer to my question : On the TV, I would like to put HDMI input audio format on bitstream, but the option is greyed out.Do you have an idea why ? EDIT : answer found here :
