I inherited a SONOS sound system when I bought my house. All was working until I swapped Internet Provider. I downloaded the latest Sonos app from Apple Store but cannot connect multiple speakers wirelessly. Would my Play 1 model speakers be incompatible with the app? I have been able to connect one speaker via an ethernet cable,
Hello, if there is a thread that would help feel free to just direct me there..unless you want to read on and specifically hear about what I am hoping to do ☺️.We recently bought an LG 27LQ600S-W for our kitchen and the sound is UNBEARABLY bad. So...I thought I would get either a SONOS One or Era 100 to send the audio to via BT. I was unsure if the BT connection would remain after turning the TV off. Good news is that it does but asks via a dialog if you want to connect to the Era when you power the TV back on. I would LOVE to have a direct “hardwire” connection to remove this extra step. TO BE 100% TRANSPARENT...I am trying to remove this extra step for my wife who doesn’t CARE about tech like I do and any extra step is ONE TOO MANY.So, I am wondering what the best way to “hardwire” the Era 100 to my TV’s TOSLINK or HDMI Arc output is.Would an HDMI to USB-C cable (https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Aluminum-Type-C-HDMI-Cable/dp/B06XS788CK/ref=asc_df_B06XS788CK?mcid=a3f7709fc5ba3a5796a8f6
I acquired a great pair of Sonos Play: 3 speakers with the Bridge when my office decided to eliminate them from our network setup. I have them playing in my bedroom on the house network and can access them with both S1/S2 apps and with the Spotify app itself, as well as controlling the volume seamlessly using Google Assistant (volume to xx%). I would like to be able to run my computer gaming sounds through them, and movies from my smart TV as well without having to add additional hardware to my network. Will I need to run it all through the Bridge unit, or can I keep them connected wirelessly? Or is that not going to work at all?
Dear Team,I hope you are doing well. I want to purchase some products in bulk. Can you give us discount on them? Waiting for your reply,Best regsrds,Jack
recently moved into a new home and have been struggling to connect two Play:1 Sonos speakers to a Google Mesh network, which I do not have administrative access to. Initially, I tried using the Sonos S2 app, but I couldn’t connect the speakers, even when directly hardwired to the network. After numerous failed attempts, I downgraded both speakers to the S1 system, which allowed me to connect each speaker individually to the network. However, I’ve encountered a persistent problem: I cannot get both speakers on the same Sonos system. When one speaker is set up, any attempt to “Add” the second speaker fails and forces me to reset it. The only consistent method to add the second speaker is by using the “search for missing device” option after resetting it, but after successfully add the system, Sonos prompts me to log in to configure the speaker. This process always results in the creation of a separate Sonos system for the second speaker. As a result, both speakers are connected to the s
I put a lot of info in my question.
Many thanks for any help. Era 100 which has been functioning well has suddenly started with an error which I can’t find described in the help pages. The speaker actually still works, but whenever it is plugged in has random runs of rapid chimes/noises associated with rapid flashing green and orange (and sometimes red) lights. There is no pattern to when the runs happen but it is every couple of minutes at most. There is no pattern to the length of the runs of chimes/lights and this varies quite wildly. The flashes and sounds are rapid, several per second. Have had to unplug the speaker rather than listen to it 24/7! It has not responded to resetting the router, several power cycles including one lasting a couple of days, a full factory reset and update of the speaker, and the advice on how to bring a device out of diagnostic mode. Has anyone had a similar error or come across this error described anywhere?
I have handed over my 10 year old Beam and two play 1 speakers to my son in law but when he got it home and plugged it in it did not display on his freshly downloaded app. Is there some thing I should have doen before handing it over as the items in question no longer appear on my app, just my new ones bought last week
I am getting this error when I try to play. I am constantly plagued by “Sonos-issues” and reading the various forums, I understand that is what is to expect from Sonos. This is a new one and all troubleshooting is in vain. Is it already bricked?
Hi there,I recently bought my first Sonos device, the Era 100, but I haven’t been able to use it yet. It’s impossible to connect it using the Sonos app on Android or iOS. Everything seems fine at first, but then it doesn’t work. Most of the time, I can’t add the device to my system. On a few occasions, I managed to add the device to my living room, but the process failed with an error code 801.I’m feeling really frustrated—please help me!Thank you in advance.
It's disappointing that the Sonos Line-In Adapter is not included with Sonos speakers and must be purchased separately. Given the premium price of Sonos speakers, this adapter should be supplied as standard, especially since third-party alternatives are incompatible, leaving customers with no choice but to buy the official Sonos adapter. The more significant issue, however, is the mandatory audio delay enforced by the Sonos App when using the line-in adapter. The app only allows delay options ranging from 75ms to 2000ms, with no option for a 0ms delay. This is incredibly frustrating, as it creates noticeable synchronization issues between video and audio, in my case I'm using the Sonos Era 300 speaker with line-in adapter alongside other speakers which creates a noticeable eco in the audio output.Sonos, PLEASE UPDATE the mobile app to include a 0ms delay option! This is essential for a seamless and premium audio experience, which is expected at this price point.
Hi there,I recently replaced my old play 5s with newer speakers that I added to the new Sonos app. I still have two speakers (play 3 and play 1) and a boost in the S1 app. I wanted to transfer them but somehow I cannot get it to work. S1 asks me to update and when I do that it opens the new Sonos app. But when I then update there it says the system is up to date and the three devices do not show in the new app. Not sure what to do? Has anyone had this problem and could fix it? Would be grateful for any advice or help. Let me know if further info is required. Thanks so much in advance. All the best, Tim
Once again my entire system is no longer available. I have an Arc, 2 Ports 4 Sonos One Gen 2s and 2 Sonos 1 Gen 1s. Nothing is available and my Sonos network has disappeared AGAIN.Currently performing a factory reset on everything and will then have to re-tune them for the rooms. This is the 8th time I have had to do this since last spring when the ‘update’ started wiping everything out.WHY WHY WHY can’t your engineers figure out how to push updates that don’t break everything? Before you start saying “Check your WiFi settings” I have done that, and my WiFi is operating perfectly.I have a significant investment in this system and am Extremely Unhappy with the quality of the Sonos software. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!
Hi - I know this has been asked and answered in many different ways and forums, I have tried many of those solutions but still have instances where speakers drop in/out. I have not been able to pinpoint any specific event that may drive this.My wifi is strong, I have a mesh network, a few of the speakers connect to the 5Hz but most to the 2.4Hz network. When things get really, really bad I unplug all speakers (16) and reboot my router and mesh, then plug them all back in. This seems to work with some lags. The issue has been persistent since the new app, I have changed my router (from stock xfinity to a Synology Mesh) and seen no difference. My Arc was hard wired, so SonosNet which I have since taken on wifi and away from SonosNet, there is some perceived stability after this (maybe?).I have been thinking of creating a separate Sonos only 2.4Hz network for all the speakers to test, does this make sense? It will be a bit annoying since my mobile will have to use the 2.4Hz or I will have
Player 3 and bridge cant connect to Sonos App. It said that dont support or can not recevied more updates. That means i have to threw away my perfectly sounding speakers player 3 , and only use my Era 100?Anything that i can do to put it back on use?
Hi I own Bean 2 sub mini and 2 era 100s configured as surround. I received 2 era 300s that I would like to configure as surround and put the 2 era 100s in stereo. Can I use the Sub mini with the 2 era 100s or does it only work with the beam 2 and the 2 Era 300s. That is, can I use the sub mini with the era 100s and with the soundbar and the 300s? Thanks. Andrea
Hello,This was raised several month ago with no answer ():Our Sonos One SL now shows up in the system when wired to the eero router, but disappears when ethernet is unplugged. When visible, the speaker shows wifi activated (in the app). Are there steps to take before unplugging the speaker, to make sure it will still work over wifi?FWIW it used to work (with usual Sonos hickups) for years over wifi, then stopped.
Do I need a sub mini if I purchase a play 5
Hello EveryoneI have a Sonos Five, which is exactly two years old tomorrow. It has suddenly stopped working. I have performed factory reset (including with and without ethernet connection to router), the app recognises it and adds it to the S2 app and my system. It even performs Trueplay. However, when I try to play music or a radio station through it, I am getting “unable to connect. Try again later”. Please does anyone have any advice or tips on anything else to try please? Thanks for any suggestions.Mike
Why is the Sonos app the worst app? Hey Sonos. Hire some developers and start from scratch. I won’t buy any more speakers until you sort this mess out!
Hi everyone This is my first time posting for help, so apologize if the answer is somewhere already on here. I haven’t been able to find a solution that works so here I am…. I have a Beam and two One SL's which I used to create surround sound. My One SL's kept losing connection, so I tried to factory reset them with my Beam to try and set up a new system. Now nothing will connect to my WIFI. When setting them up, after it asks me to put in my WIFI password, I enter the correct password and then there's an error to say incorrect password. The error flashes up almost immediately, like it hasn’t even tried to connect. It is definitely the correct password as I copied it from the router. Even when I use an ethernet cable it’s asking for a password. It's not a frequency issue as I have many 2.4ghz products connected to my router. I know it’s not the network as everything use to connect fine to it. Kind of lost what to do as there’s no real help online that I can find, and I waited 50 minute
HiI have 4 x sonos 1 speakers, two wired up as individual and two as a paired stereo and it all works well.I have been offered a pair of play5 and a single play 3 along with a bridge at a reasonable price. My intention is to put these together in the living room a part of my group.Firstly, will this work?Secondly I have noticed the new speakers have an input connection.Does this mean I will able to plug my TV into the new components and put the tv through them for tv sound. As well as being part of my original system? So to conclude, i will have;1: two x sonos 1 as individual units (current).2: two sonos 1 as a paired stereo (current).3: two sonos play 5 & one sonos play 3as a stereo plus centre speaker. Will option 3 work with (A) the current systemWill option 3 take input from my TV, DVD playerI have until Tuesday to make my decisionSo Many thanks in advancePhil
I have a Sonos Era 100 and I am trying to get it to receive audio from a bluetooth transmitter (Avantree Oasis B).ie basically the Sonos Era is going to be receiving an external audio source via bluetooth. Can anyone advise if / how this can work? When attempting to pair the devices, I cannot see anything in the Sonos app.Does the Era 100 even support this?My backup solution is to connect another third party bluetooth receiver to the Avantree, then send the signal via aux cable to the Line In on the Sonos Era.
Hi I have 2 Play5 and 1 Sub of the sonos first Gen. How can i configure these products? It asks me each time to update, whe I do this, there is no compatibility any longer so that they are unusable… i brought it back to Sonos S1 but cant do some configs like stereopairing or pairing the Sub with another 1st. Gen Play5 Do I realy have to throw this old speakers away??? would be nice to get some help with this issue, thanks a lot!!! Regards,Schmiddy
Hey people,I love the flexibility of taking the Move out and returning it to the system in the house for a bigger sound. I'd like to expand the collection but I'm put off by never ending connectivity issues.I have high bandwidth fibre-optic broadband which exceeds our demands. I have a new WiFi router as I figured this was the issue but if I take the move out of the WiFi and use as intended. When I return it to the system in the house it often won't pair with the Sonos one. (Not stereo)Honestly, I find this so frustrating or am I over reacting?I'd go for the Arc and some era 100 but if every time I want to use it I have to spend 30mins trouble shooting I'd rather not waste my money.I hope there's a simple answer? 😬Perhaps it's me🤷Any help much appreciated
