Problems grouping during play

I have a Connect and two Play:1 using the new app and firmware. I use a Samsung Android phone as controller.

Starting Spotify playback directly on one of the Play:1 (paused on the same Play:1 earlier this morning from an alarm). Works fine. I then try to group the Connect to the Play:1 playing. Seems to accept it, but nothing happens playback wise on the Connect and the app ungroups them again after some time. Repeat many times - even get "system not found" one or two times though it find it again after 5-10 seconds - but no luck in grouping. Only the Play:1 actually plays.

I stop the playback on the Play:1, then switch to the Connect, group it with the Play:1, find a playlist and start it - now it works.

Is this still a known issue (one of many)?

Other things: Opening the app always take at least 10 seconds with "device not found" until system becomes somewhat ready, extremely annoying though I know this is fast compared to some other users. Also REALLY annoying that the widget is gone (why can Spotify make a widget if not sonos is able to now that both (for whatever & #@$ reason) are cloud services or at least cloud dependent). Imagine if the TV remote was just as slow every time we picked it up - nobody would stand for that.

Also still miss alarm snooze.

I used to recommend SONOS to people, but no longer (quite the opposite I have moaned to whoever didn't want to listen. Maybe I will reconsider if the widget and controller responsiveness comes back. Maybe then I will also consider expanding to other / new products, but if not I will move to another line of products when these die or I lose my patience (or temper 😉).

Fingers crossed and I hope for all users that the shakeup brings progress and improvements soon 🤞

The normal cause of a failing to add another device to a group is down to network issues - it basically times out.

With regards to a Sonos widget on Android devices, Google no longer allow 3rd party players, like Sonos, to use the Home screen as of 2024.

I suggest that you look at my article below and reserve IP addresses:

Thanks, but... About the widget - then why can other apps like Spotify provide a widget player that works - even with Sonos devices? And the app being slow to open is no fault of my network. The same network, same devices work ed fast on the old app. And fx Spotify dont seem to have issues with connections to Sonos devices or speed opening. I never had the se issues on the old firmware or app...

Because Spotify is a player on the device, and Sonos is only a remote control used to command the player on the speakers, and doesn’t invoke any music playing/streaming from the device?
